Yes. For that we have to wait for next seaaon whether he could use more primal magic by himself. If he can use, then he could be the next Aravos but a good one.. And I hope the original Aravos is coming in next season.
Patrick Röder I want Aaravos to do it but I know it’s not gonna happen. I mean he can do all 6 primal magic and he’s been around for centuries, it would be nice if he had a student or apprentice to teach magic to to pass time.
At first I thought, "that's kinda lame, the power of LOVE gave him wings" but I guess it's not because of love, it's because it gave him the correct boost of motivation to get it right. Actually, it reminds me of how Zuko got his firebending back in that dragon episode.
Human's emotions are their strength and weakness it's what makes them human. So, his love for her ain't lame. It's just pure and it got him to do what was needed to be done. Love is the most beautiful and terrifying thing in the world. Thanks for listening my Ted talk.
He already knew the runes and spell (mind), he already knew how to perform it and had the runes painted on him (hand), he was only lacking one thing according to what Sarai says it's really knowing something, heart :D
That’s what I love about Callum his human but his not letting that stop him. All the people who said a human can’t learn magic because they aren’t born with it, look at Callum he redefined what ya can do.
@@lubystkaolamonola529 But Dark Magic doesnt seem to be complete yet. Also Aaravos created dark magic for humans. but elves seem to just blame humans for it instead
I hear theories that Callum is part elf. I am hoping that is not the case as it would detract from the hard work that he has done, also the cube would glow around him, if that was the case. I think Callum's mother might have been related to ancient humans that were connected to the Arcanums, which is why Callum is a Mage and Ezran can speak to animals. I feel that Xadian's hid that secret part of human history in a power war though. It would be interesting to see in flashbacks if Callum's mother was also a Mage/ animal communicator too .
I don't think it's unheard of to be able to form connections to archanums since we've already seen one mage form connections with archanums he was born with: Aaravos. He's a startouch elf which means he was born with the understanding of the star archanum. However, he mastered the other 4 as well. He must've found a way to form connections. I think that's another explanation towards Callum's abilities. I'm quite curious for Ezran's animal talking abilities though 🤔
The look of pure shock and sadness on his face when Rayla fell at 3:16 to 3:22? just killed me. Also we not gonna talk about how brave he is, jumping off the cliff like that? They are so perfect for each other~ They sooooo gonna get married!!! Edit: oh my goodness thank u for the heart! 💜
And when their children ask how they met.....Well, I'm sure learning that the only reason their parents met was because their mother was trying to kill their uncle, and threatened to kill their father to that end.....Well, what family isn't dysfunctional?
Sokka to Zuko: "my first girlfriend turned into the moon" Zuko: "That's rough, buddy." Reincarnated as Callum: Girlfriend is a moonshadow elf named Rayla
This part of the story showed one interesting and powerful thing. To cast high leveled spells it requires more than having an arcanum connection and knowing the words, it requires a certain mindset. Callum figured out that mindset on his own without anyone teaching him the ABC's. I can imagine him spending a month with wind touched elves, devouring all the knowledge in their libraries and returning home a full fledged wind mage. With that said I am betting the next Arcanum connection Callum forges will be with the moon arcanum.
@@animedojoind7350 I honestly don't agree with that. I think given the themes of the show, having him be genetically tied to the elvess would undermine the entire point. The show is about war prejudices and how to undo those things. so I think more likely will find that the dragons kept the fact that humans could do primal magick a secret in order to further their own agenda. Sol Regem was cruel
@@beccarnr830 My theory was about his father. we dont know about callum's father at all. So probably he is an elf and a very skilled one. he fall in love with Sasari had had a child that is Callum. thats why he can use primal magic. elf and human relationship possible as story is showing callum and Rayla in love. In dragon prince universe also human is a very intelligent being and they are doing black magics. so if they can do magic that wont be a secret, at least among human i think.
loved it, best moment ever. but i also wanted to see peoples faces when they found out, and peoples faces when he lands in front of people and he's like 'boom, mage wings!' and everyone's just staring and then he's all like, 'so how do i turn them back? Wait, Ibis?? where are you?? HOw Do i tURn tHeM BACK?????' that would've been great they better put it somewhere
@@naturalist10000 Makes sense. Using Latin the words are: Manus: hand Pluma: feather Volantis: flying Basically saying: “take my hands, give them feathers, make me fly” so the reverse would be: “take my flight, take my feathers, return my hands”
Did anyone else wonder if Callum would be stuck with wing arms forever? I have no doubt he’d gladly sacrifice anything to save his loved ones, but it still might make some things awkward afterwards.
@@tukamano2987 Yeah, but I wonder if they are somehow fused to his skin now, not just painted on. Would be kind of cool. Also handy- imagine having to paint them on again every time he bathed/got wet.
i wonder if he put the runes on diffrent part of his body, will it make the mage get more bird parts or are those runes for wings,if you have the runes all of your body would you turn into a wing with a wing appendeges
This whole few moments when Callum saves Rayla is one of the most endearing and heart-wrenchingly beautiful moments in any show ever. It'll remain one of my favourite scenes forever.
I LOVE this scene but imagine it from Rayla's perspective? Like she has NO idea that Callum might know the spell for mage wings so from her point of view he saw her push Viren off and just...jumped? Like??? lol
Honestly, at this point, she knows him well enough to know he either has a plan, or is emotional enough to just jump and think he will be able to make something up. He could technically have used Aspero as a sort of wind cushion beneath them if he was able to grab her, but it probably would have still resulted in some broken bones
I feel kind of let down by how casual everyone seems to be with Callum use magic, from what we have been told there has never been a human who could use magic through the arcanums directly and heres a kid who has fully grasped the sky arcanum.
It's kind of like an instinct and cultural difference. The Arcanums are born into the beings that hold them, like an instinct like we know how to eat and swallow. Humans are not born with that magic know how. They said that magic was all around in the land, you just had to know how to find it. It's like having a voice box, but never learning to speak because no one had ever taught you. Moon elfs never tried to branch out to other magic, and no elf had ever tried to teach another elf how to use it. It is a mutual effort to those who need to be taught. There is also an issue with cultural differences and how no one wants to be bested at their own natural born skill. They want to feel special in there own instinct. So that is how dark magic was born, Calum had teachings that lead him to his path of magic understanding. But others were not as lucky, and turned to other ways to use any sort of magic they wanted instead of truly understanding it.
i have a feeling that whatever inside that box will help him fight against aaravos and callum will be in control over all kinds of magic. claudia will go completely dark in the end and probably become a sympathetic azula
My comment come a little late but i believe the box Is the prisión itself so what Is inside Is the villain of the series. I imagine the box as a pocket dimensión
The Dragon Prince is not an anime, its an animated show. Unless you are from Japan, anime means mainly japanese animation or at least japanese animation style. That is not the case for TDP.
@@jugemujugemugokonosurikire4735 I'm saying the line is very blurry since it's hard to call every Japanese animation an anime. Since they also make stuff that's closer to cartoons as well. And western Media makes cartoons that are "less stylised and more with correct proportions" If you think about it the line is kinda blurry.
It would require to have completely different build or joints to support 2nd pair of limbs, plus extra set of muscles, bones etc. reshaping limbs is easier.
We stan that good good non-racist love between Rayla and Callum. He was willing to jump off a cliff because he loved her so much and he was able to perform the spell and save her. Even though there is an all out war going on between their two people, they still loved each other that’s true love💕💕
I just realized something. Viren dropped his staff at the top of the mountain when Reyla pushed him off. Does this mean Callum will use that staff himself in season four? I’m starting think so.
rutger5000 actually Viren used the staff to enhance an ice spell when he faced Zym’s dad, which was primal magic. But I can see some reasons why he’d not use it himself. Maybe he’ll hold onto it until he meets back up with Claudia.
@@maxs9062 I don't think he actually used to staff to enhance the spell. He used the storm orb to cast the magic spell. The staff was just something he was holding at the time. From what we've seen artifacts are pretty one sided. The storm orb can only be used to cast air magic, lunar stones can only be used to cast moon magic, and that staff from the sunfire elves has only cast fire magic so far. It doesn't make sense to me that Viren's staff could be used to cast or enhance anything other than dark magic.
rutger5000 I suppose you have a point. That’s why I’m now thinking Claudia will use the staff, since dark magic is kinda her forte. Still I think Callum should get his own magic staff at some point.
@@maxs9062 Claudia might use the staff. I don't think that anybody will bother to search for it, and I assume Claudia and Viren could summon it if they wanted to. I think Claudia still has the sunfire elf staff too.
I don't think it was bad necessarily, just different. The actor seemed to be intentionally bringing down the energy so that you're left with this sense of disappointment, which transitions well between scenes. Plus, he needed to fit the lip flaps at the very least.
He didn’t activate his power for love. It was the state of his emotions which were in flux meaning he couldn’t concentrate but seeing rayla in danger made him focus and obtain the power. The I love you was more of a confession which he wanted to tell her for a while now.
Diving off a cliff to all but certain death, with only the (possibly vain) hope that you can utilize a spell to save the one you love, and finding the power to do it upon affirming those feelings. THAT, people, is true love.
I want Callum to learn Sky Magic from Ibis. I want Rayla to learn more fighting techniques from Aunt Amaya and Janai. I want Ezran to learn how to be a better and stronger King from Opeli and Aanya. I want Soren to fall in love with a Tidebound or Earthblood Elf. I want Zym to stay with Zubeia. I WANT RUNAAN OUT OF THAT FUCKING COIN SO HE CAN GO BACK TO ETHARI!
Ibis's reaction when he learned that Calumn successfully used the wing spell must have been priceless. Something along the lines of "I'll teach this boy, but I may not be able to keep up with him."
I like the part where Callum spreads his wings and flies down to save Reayla as for lord Viren Callum didn’t have to kill him, but he’s not gonna save him that kinda reminds me of Batman Begins
This means that humans can learn Magic without using dark energy. They just have to understand really well the Origin of it and develope their bonds with the elements
It took me until Season 2 to recognize his voice (shameful). Once I did I literally just screamed, scared the life out of my poor mother because I was quietly eating then just suddenly sounded like a dying duck.
