Can I SELL drone footage WITHOUT A PFCO? Not the answer you Expected?// Mail  

I agree with the footage advice. As drone pilots we can appreciate the effort gone into to achieve that footage. A customer through lack of knowledge doesn’t see that. They just see footage. Adding more personal stuff brings you and your company into the spotlight on the reel. Even consider an intro at the start of your clip showing kit packing, getting in the car, etc. Good B roll close ups of cameras batteries etc. The slo mo shot of your eyes examining the drone props or similar. All adds personal touch that as said you don’t see with the vast majority.

Great points, you are right, watched the video and your pause, didn't think you would say anything other than fantastic. Love the fact you suggested the pilot is shown and added to the video, great addition. As always great show.

Excellent advice, couldn't agree more. I'm a PFCO holder with a roofing business only problem is the amount of tea breaks my guys have, maybe get some sponsorship from Tetleys or any other famous brand 👍

Really interesting hearing your thoughts on this question. I obtained my PfCO specifically so that I could sell my images as stock, but I always wondered if it was necessary. I'm not planning to renew my PfCO when the new EASA regs come in.

Hi great video especially about the “personable” approach I’m one of those ‘shy people’ went for an interview once to chat about setting up a job had all my paperwork risk assessment sorted but couldn’t convince them it would be “safe” and that’s very difficult to “get over to someone” if you appear nervous and that’s why I think a lot of small operators (especially starting out) don’t have the confidence to “sell themselves” especially to another buisness It’s all about confidence and body language. If you lack that it’s very hard to get work no mater how skilled you are.

How in the world do you organize all of your drone footage in regards to transferring new footage to a “drive”, sorting it for processing and then archiving the footage for later? Of your “good” footage, what do you keep after editing and what do you not keep? I use an iPad to edit my videos now, but have also used a laptop in the past. It is difficult for me to get around to editing the footage before I fly again and sometimes I forget I got some wonderful shots because they are a needle in the haystack. What do process do you use to keep your drone footage from driving you BATTY!!! 😬😜🤪😊 Keep up the good work my flying friend! Hi ! I've got a Mavic Mini (249g), which i registered anyway. I haven't got a PfCO and i won't get one as it is worth more than the drone itself, regardless of that i still would love to film around and try to sell on shutterstock...would that be considered illegal ? I mean there is a huge difference between someone who earns hundreds for a 1 min video, and an amateur who will get 50p probably haha...idk
