Thanks for the information and many thanks for the performance! I really enjoy your way of presenting the the information to us, I believe you would find a catching way to present even underwater farm planting or ISS solar panel replacement.

Well maybe not "our" language as the FAA would only confuse us Americans if they started added extra U's to words (colour, honour.etc) or if they started calling wrenches spanners but you are absolutely correct that this calls for a far more simplified vocabulary.

Hi Dylan, Loving the channel and find your videos both interesting and informative. I have a question for you. Where did you get your yellow sandwich board style drone warning sign, that is in the background? I have tried to find one to purchase but have been unsuccessful thus far. Keep up the good work my friend and hope to see you in the sky’s above soon.

The FAA Remote ID "cohorts" are whom you'd expect: the retail, transportation, and telecom giants. The purpose of remote ID will enable them to equip commercial BVLOS drone navigation with the means to obtain real-time information about any drone activity in the Class G airspace quadrants or corridors they will lease and block for purposes of single shipments or frequent transit. Hobbyists or small commercial drone operators will then be unable to launch drones inside those GPS coordinates. Or they may be fined or punished for infractions considered misdemeanors or worse. A phone app will give relatively cheap access to all property owners, industries, agencies, or bounty-hunting law offices or security firms to identify and punish any drone launching or recovery from any location. All interested parties might also challenge any aerial transit on grounds that photos or videos obtained constitute illegal surveillance or trespass, not defined by the FAA, but restricted by some state and local laws. Furthermore, the FAA says that no drone pictures or video posted to social media is recreational. According to an email sent to vlogger Kris Antoinette on 13-Jul-20

Very disappointed that my AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilot Association) that I've been involved with since I started flying manned aircraft in the 1990's has seemingly just given lip-service to their advocacy for Part 107 and Hobbyist pilots. A huge number of Part 91 and Commercial pilots I know and fly with are also Part 107 Drone pilots and hobbyists. AOPA has a mandate to protect the skies for it's members from government and commercial overreach and has been relentless in its support of general aviation. A few years back they decided to bring drone hobbyists into their fold as a way transitioning these folks into getting their Private or Commercial pilot certificates. However, for the past 2 years AOPA has been virtually silent and offered no push back to the Amazon and related corporations hijacking the hobby and industry. Turncoat organizations like Airmap that sold out hobbyists and Part 107 operators for future subscription fee services and sold out to the FAA have been rewarded by being groomed to take over huge segments of the Remote ID industry. Shame on AOPA for sitting back and not doing your job. A huge portion of General Aviation are HUGE Drone Enthusiasts and 107 Pilots as well and are likewise outraged at your stance. The FAA will do what the industry allows them to get away with in many cases and you have turned your backs on the members you pretend to represent. When the hobbyists ultimately revolt and refuse to adhere to ANY FAA rules because you and the FAA and others have taken away their voices, you and the FAA and Amazon etc, will be responsible for the chaos and total non-compliance that will result. When you collectively take away the voice of the 1.5 million pilots who developed the hobby and technology, I see a time ahead where these misguided frustrated hobbyists decide to shutdown every airport in the country with their non-identifiable homemade drones in protest, all because you decided that the easiest way to turn a 5 Billion industry into a Trillion dollar industry is to allow the Amazons, the Qualcomms, the Airmaps, and ATT/ Verizon to do as they want. I hope their super pac $$ will allow you to sleep at night...
@IkoptaUk
@IkoptaUk 4 года назад
Feel your pain.. but there lies the problem with member groups... Too many, and they half an eye on the member fees.. once their membership grows, so does costs/management so they can retain the members. Then they have no time to do the work that attracted the members in the first place.. so they lose a few, panic, then spend even more time on getting new members, taking their eye of the ball wit the issue at hand. Not sure they will ever be able to make a difference.. will only ever be paid lip service by Regulators..because at the end of the day.. its about money and the economy.

New drone regulations expected this summer will require "toy camera drones" to be registered by children as young as 12 years old. But there is minimum age for federal registrations: a 12-year-old child is incapable of consenting, for want of legal age or a sufficient understanding. It should also be noted that a drone under 250 grams without a camera needs no registration. So it is apparent that surveillance cameras are what actually need to be registered. But what about a camera flying on a box kite with a string? Or what about the cameras of airline passengers who take photos from the airplane windows? These matters need to be logically addressed without "magical thinking solutions" or there will be serious lawsuits. And at what distance off the ground does a camera need to be registered: a long selfie stick? Let's face it. The art of aerial photography as well as the drone hobby, are being strong-armed out of existence to allow for delivery drones, and the operators of delivery drones will soon have the same social status as truck drivers.

The reason why the language changes is due to the fact that the 'simple language' can have different interpretations. The 'complex and baffling language' is meant to be without multiple interpretations and used for legal purposes to use as a framework to set out the conditions of laws and regulations. So the legal language is used to ask if someone has met the conditions of lawful behaviour without the possibility of the answer being ; maybe. Obviously, as the complex legal language is made by humans, they will get somethings wrong and are not perfect.
@ChrisLewis-yx8kw
@ChrisLewis-yx8kw 4 года назад
Timo Hebditch the problem with that is nobody has a Scooby snack of an idea what they are talking about, therefore nobody can comply.
@IkoptaUk
@IkoptaUk 4 года назад
I get that.. but they need to dumb it down so people can understand, then either comply. If 90% don't understand what is being laid down..how can they be punished by it?
@timohebditch3475
@timohebditch3475 4 года назад
Obviously, we don't have any legal defence that relies upon 'I didn't know that was illegal'. Has anyone ever seen and read the Statute Law that says the murder of another human is wrong? I have not, but somehow I know its kind of frowned upon. With flying drones, the big issue is definition of 'safety'. I have never flown a drone of any kind, but if mimic a licenced professional and nothing goes wrong, is that safe, or just luck? If I continue to repeat these actions and nothing goes wrong, do I then become safe? The answer is of course no to both, but the legal language allows recourse if anything does go wrong. Imagine that there is no laws for drone flying and I who has no experience in fly, unfortunately hit and injure a child. Who can the parents sue for damages? Me- ' nope,- The wind took control of the drone and the shop should have not sold me the drone knowing it could injure.' the shop--'not us, we sold it in good faith, the manufacturers made something that they knew could cause harm; the manufacturers-' not us, we made it safe, it should require training to be used properly in your country, your country-'not us, we don't restrict what our citizens do'. So the parents are f*:%ked. Everyone will pass the buck and blame everyone else. So the simple answer is ask the regulator or ask a enforcer or educator of the regulations, like a police officer. Then you have recourse if anything goes wrong.

You have to understand how it works in today's Federal Government. Upper management only considers contractors smart enough to create and write up the rules. They are hired and report to upper management. Upper management maneuvers for jobs with contractors, after they leave the government, while trying to look like they aren't. The contractors put in whatever policies will benefit their companies (just wait to see what comes out of Amazon and Skyward (Verizon) in this process). Lower levels, in the organization, do get a rough review on the policies, but the contractors make the policy and the political upper management approves it. I'll also bet that upper management has heard from the congress persons representing these company's districts and feels pressure from them. It's how it works. That's why the people you talk to seem normal. They are...but they have no power...the contractors do. It's actually worse in the Defense department because the military retires young and has to go to the private sector. Oh, and I have 36.5 years of experience working for them, so I'm not just guessing how it works...lol.
