Another point I didn't add; it's a bit hypocritical for the filmmakers to criticize James Bond's relationship with women if they plan to give a female version the same characteristics anyway. ►Become a Patron! www.patreon.com/JLongbone OR ►Donate! www.paypal.me/BoneyLong
Ha, pls ignore my double post on “Wokeness,” I thought it hadn’t gone through but now I’m guessing it was just awaiting approval? 😂 anyway great content as always. I love hearing your views even when I disagree. IMHO you’re brave for voicing opinions that aren’t hived aligned.
There was a time where I imagined a beautiful black woman whenever that term popped up. Now I just think about saggy, money-hungry company executives having a massive orgy in front of a RU-vid video views counter.
Old movie scripts: "Bond enters the room. Bond looks around. Bond says something. " New movie scripts: "The most amazing beautiful well mannered 200 IQ black woman enters the room. The stunning brilliant well dressed black woman with black skin looks around. The black woman who is also female and black, with very beautiful woman face and soft black skin, who is also super wise and amazing at everything, says something." Just make interesting characters of different race and gender, no need to explain your agenda in so much detail, leaving no script for anything else at all. If else, that shows Hollywood is still run by racists and sexists, the wolves just changed clothes again.
I just don't understand why they didn't go with Idris Elba. He's hot, British and everyone loves him.And oh he's black if that matters. He's been a popular choice for Bond for years.
I don't think people understand. This woman is not going to be the new star of the franchise. She is just replacing 007 as the new agent in this film as Bond is retiring in the plot. Bond #26 will have Bond in it again as the main star.
okay so, my brothers ex pushed her tits in my hands when i was drunk, the thing was there was nothing there ( or i was so drunk i did not feel finger tips) so i used it , now your turn
@Unojhiir0 sound like when i tried to give my game character a name. ended up Riku Hendai ( riku because i have always thought that name sounded cool and hendai comes from name hentai , but riku the pervert would sound weird)
Looking at the way they describe how the movie will start out, I swear I've already seen that Exact Same premise done over a billion times in James Bond fanfiction. So not only can they not write their own character, but half of their plot is just straight up taken from Wattpad
I wouldn't mind a black female spy in the James bond universe as a stand alone film. But I would not push this idea as I never cared for the Bond films.
I always thought every 007 took the identity of James Bond. Each 00 agent had its own identity which would be a good way to get a diverse mix of agents.
As a bond fan I'd love that, mostly love the idea of a spinoff film. Would be cool to have her as someone who works with bond during one film then we get another film from her side. I'd see that film.
@@jamstonjulian6947, Pretty much, They don't have the courage to make an original character, but more than willing to strip one character to prop up another.
What about Naomie Harris' Moneypenny? The strong independent black woman who did not fall for any of James Bond's flirting shenanigans and nobody gave a shit about it, especially him.
And it came off completely natural and worked. Honestly, better than Q, and leagues above boring "new M/mallory" in my opinion. Then they go and pull this woke crap. Along with pretending they never had strong female characters-Jinx was a match for bond as was Mayday, Miranda Frost nearly destroyed his entire life, Silva and Bond have an exchange heavily suggesting "if bond isn't bi, he at least sampled the other side here and there" not to mention 2 films in a row that feel like deadly bromance. Then we got Judi Dench's M whom either side or main is ancient and still fully capable of intelligence and strength. But let's just also ignore Mr. Went and Mr. Kidd from Diamonds Are Forever. You know what, go ahead. Focus on 1995 until now-it's been showcasing powerful women (not WAHMEN) and has even had some gay/bi representation without forcing it too. Go back and see how aside from some weird exceptions (like the worst incompetent CIA agent ever in Live And Let Die) it's pretty much always been like that.
Why can't they make new characters for new characters. Or will she be a misogynistic lesbian to fit the role. And say he also transitioned to black woman surgically.
@@wiktoriakos2597 Can't wait for India Jones the strong, independent female artifact hunter... I mean, she'll probably just leave the artefacts where they are so as not to offend the natives. Did I say natives? I meant oppressed but beautiful peoples. She's totally badass though.
As much as I am for representation and such, this is as bad as the whole 'gay character' from the beauty and the beast live action. They hype it tf up instead of just treating the character...as a normal character.
DororoXPenana that’s the secret to making good character that no one seems to understand yet. If you need to throw hype about it in order for people to see your movie or read your bookC chances are it isn’t very good.
Oh boy. The writer of *Fleabag* and *Killing Eve* comes to James Bond's front door. A woman *so progressive,* that she found it was completely a-ok to have *a dopey, drunken, Irish stereotype for a character, who is a priest and has confirmed alcholic parents.* You're a gobshite, Phoebe. 😑
James Bond is supposed to be ladies man special agent. Like seducing women of opposing factions and antagonistic factions in each bond film or something like that. Even he can’t seduce all women. 007 is an agent codename. Also James Bond is a british male agent. 🇬🇧 such dividing publicity to 🤦🏻♂️ drive away audiences from seeing a future film before the trailer hits. Thank you for addressing the 007 problem JLongBone
Actresses have the perfect vehicle of a secret agent spy who's on the same level as James Bond waiting in the wings for them, she's called *Modesty Blaise,* a character that has been going strong in book and comic strip form since the mid-1960s. Leave the male characters alone to be the male character the were created as and written as. Wahmen, use what's available to your gender and make the most of it, make her shine on her own merit without riding the coat tails of an established *male* character. People will respect you more for it and we'll watch it.
Geez! Your reading voice is perfect for voice-over. Everything about it. The pitch, tone, cadence, all of that. Ever do that? Or are you already doing that? lol I could hear you narrating science and educational shows and documentaries. Awesome!
I laughed too hard at jemima bond. I can't wait for you to rip the little mermaid live-action movie when the full cast is out. I'm trying to be positive about that movie, but it's testing me.
@@jenneacubero1036 it will be because it'll be a straight shot for shot , Maleficent at least is different and separates itself from Sleeping Beauty but the little mermaid is very special as it kickstarted the Disney renaissance and you wouldthey would've thought more on the cast. The fact that we might get Harry Styles and Mellissa McCarthy is baffling to me. I don't understand why Disney exceeds casting for Mistress of Evil, The Lion King, and Beauty and the Beast in live action format but absolutely drops the ball in the Little Mermaid. I can't believe what people they are choosing/ might choose. What Jl says here applies to the little mermaid
You know what sister I have never came across a channel but I 100% agree and you just earned yourself a new subscriber keep up the good work, this s*** out as you see it honey! Much love Lufkin Texas✊🏾💯
Imagine this was one of the dvd cover quote reviews on the box for one of the past Bond movies "Bond is back" **** Daily Mail "Fantastic spy action" **** The Times "Mansluting it up" **** JLongbone
My eyes fucking popped out of my head from rolling them so hard when I read about the “pivotal scene“ where she tells Bond off for flirting with her. Fucking hell.
*As long as he's British, the color doesn't matter. What matters is that he's MALE.* 💖✨😐 Let there be Sharia Bond, Wonton Bond, Pablo Bond. As long as he got the authentic accent and a loyal citizen of the UK, it's good. But he has to be MALE or else we're talking about a whole different movie. The second they decided to make this about a woman, it went to the dumpster fire. Of course, #metoo added to that. But even without, this movie is BS.
Barbara broccoli. The main producer of James bond movies debunked these theories. She said that bond was written very specifically to be a man and that it is not necessary to gender swap the character. I wholeheartedly agree
You deserve so many subs, JL. I cracked up so much during this due to spectacular editing, but I completely agree with your stance on this. Outstanding!
SJW’s: A black female James Bond is great, and if you don’t like it, your a bigoted white dude. JLongBone: I don’t like this because it makes no sense SJW’s: *surprise pikachu face
What about Mayday from "A view to a kill" She was a stong black woman and was a very facinating character. Initaly showing extreme loyalty to max zorin and over the course of the film grews to respect bond as an equal. The sparing session between her and max shows that she is a physical equal to him. At the end of the film she sacrifies herself when she cam see that her boss has gone too far and the madness has consumed him. Grace jones was brillaint for the part as she played the part perfectly.
Ik it's been a while since this dumpster fire film was being advertised versus how much it was delayed, but now having seen it, I'm adding on another detail. So, Q is gay all of a sudden. In NTTD, it's just "there" and has zero meaning to the plot, story, interaction etc. I'll say 2020-on they did it for progressive points and to appeal to 1% of the fanbase who was asking that question. Flashback to "Diamonds are Forever." Connery's last official outing. In 1972. We had two active henchmen in Mr. Went and Mr. Kidd. They hold hands so early on we know they are gay, it's almost too much, but subtle further activity kinda fixes it. During the film they are shown to be very effective, doing their job, even going too far and fast, even so fed up with Bond foiling plans that they go after him in the end despite there employer being gone. Things throughout the movie showed how they functioned: one was obviously the one meant to look all clean, but was actually the creepier one. The other is sort of opposite-longer hair, beard, more casual clothing. The dynamic is both entertaining and functional in that while the movie-like a view to kill-doesn't take itself too seriously, it doesn't do it for any points or go sit-com comedy jokes, etc. One eyes the other for even mentioning a woman is pretty "for a woman." Jealousy much? Who thought of this then as anything but another fun Sean Connery outing that actually was better than the several before it? These two without Bond interference would've killed like the entire cast (besides M+Moneypenny+Q) on top of it. Being gay was one character trait, not there defining reason to exist, and no one batted an eye, hated it, got all bigoted on it then. Now they can't even make a new villain TOO eccentric or they think they means it's toxic and they must be gay so phobic, bigoted, etc. Also we literally had Halle Berry in Die Another Day, and aside from one dumb line her race meant nothing, other than she was another agent who could mostly keep up with bond (and why can't she is basically because she is screwed over by the same people who screwed over bond except he at least knew whom one of them were).
Ugh. I expected as much, it’s the same ploy Hollywood is using on Ariel, where they heavily emphasize on the actors race/gender as a publicity stunt disguised as tolerance. I wouldn’t be opposed to a black bond, Ariel, what have you, it’s the way they go about it that’s cringe.
I don’t know much about him, but James Bond is meant to be a British male, if you want minorities in your movie then introduce new characters, it’s not that hard.
"we could be freakin' out for nothign" Well As soon as any movie that invokes anything tangentially related to social justice turns out to be a good movie, I'll believe ya :)
It seems like they're banking on the James Bond name instead of making an original movie about a black, female spy. But I guess it wouldn't be as profitable, now would it?
Exactly. It's actually kind of disrespectful to women to assume that they can't be marketed as individual characters, just piggybacking off other characters.
Ghostbusters 2016, here we are again. But yeah, this isn't going to work, and the articles that blame white men already are written. Just waiting to be sent out the moment the movie fails. We seen this before so many times...
Still think they should’ve promoted Moneypenny; they started her off as an agent or soft re-booted the character at the beginning of Skyfall and plus, she would’ve needed to have top security clearance to be “the secretary” to M and MI-5; so why not promote her back to the field but not by making her the female James Bond but by making her Agent Moneypenny with a number of her own; similar to that of what Marvel did with Agent Carter. Which would’ve left us with still having James Bond but equally it could've expanded the universe of 007 more organically with an in-universe character.
I am a huge Bond fan been watching the movies with my father for as long as I can remember, and I do say that the franchise has died out even before this, once again alienating your existing fan base to gain a small minority of people for a woke political standing is the stupidest thing ever and hollywood really need to stop
Clicked on this video expecting typical anti-SJW rhetoric.. pleasantly surprised and laughing to my self.. THIS is the kind of thought out response we need to topics like this.. not just straight.. "Oh bond is going woke" Subbed and glad I found you!!!
Universal's pandering is beyond pathetic, as it is when Sony does it. I can only endorse this racebending if James has a sister named Jemima Bond & the script is written by JLongbone.
Hey J, your video raised a lot of good points, and I agree that studios should stop putting brownie points before good storytelling and characters. My point is, is that I'm all for representation in films, shows, etc, and the concept of a female James Bond, is a fine idea, but I'm sick of films that showboat a person's race or gender, either as a cynical attempt to seem inclusive, or to hit as many demographics as possible. Just because The Predator had a boy with autism, and a man with Tourette's Syndrome, doesn't excuse the insulting portrayal of of those conditions, and as someone with autism myself, it's especially patronizing, uncomfortable, and sickening, and only damages those conditions and paints harmful stereotypes of these people, that really needs to stop. What will the new JB's personality be like? Courageous? Witty? Smart? Funny? Impulsive? What kinds of flaws does she have, and what is her story arc? If they're going to do a new take on James Bond, I want to know the new character as a person, not an agenda.
IMO they should stop making James Bond; the best movies have already been made, it’s getting stale (give it a break at least), and the core character doesn’t compute with pc Hollywood.
I’m surprised you didn’t mention the hypocrisy over rejecting Idris Elba. He would’ve been great. A woman though is just missing the point of the character. His whole appeal is the MALE fantasy.
Lol doesn’t give them a wedding ring after he busts on their face lol omg I blew snot out my nose while I was drinking hot chocolate.. that was too funny
