Quicksilver is a relatively new firmware option from some of the same devs who brought you NFE_Silverware. It supports brushless motors and a variety of F4 flight controllers. It even has a nice Configurator and OSD menu system! You can probably flash it onto one of your existing builds, but why would you? For me, the answer comes down to one killer feature for angle mode racing. It can take a hard hit and recover in the air without losing track of which way is up! No more "drunk gyro" syndrome! I hope to tell you more about this and other features in future videos, so make sure you're subscribed. Links and info below...

Ah the good old days when an E011 was $13 an aio cam was $15 and replacement set of 716 motors ran around $5.

Brushed + Silverware + Mockingbird - I still can't find a brushless whoop that flies anywhere close to the Brushed Hummingbird with the Silverware/Mockingbird configuration. Does such a thing exist today? Any active project to move these advancements forward? Perhaps not since there is not much money in the F0 Flight Controller market but thought I'd toss the question out there and see.

The biggest issue with running emu and quicksilver for me is that Quad feel is impossible to emulate in the sim. For that reason I fly on bf 4.3 and velocidrone / tw go. I would be interested in some more details like working pid and filter settings for quicksilver to try it out. Another good topic would be a comparison between bf 4.3, emu 0.4 and quicksilver for whoop racing. Looking forward to your next video!

@@chaotix777 yes , if you want to be competitive stick time beats any quality of life feature you can think of. Mediocre tune + 1000h stick time will always beat amazing tune and no stick time.

I'm guessing quicksilver is an extension of silverware and that first flight was awfully sweet with it's unwavering amazing speed and handling I'm so addicted to ripping my nfe silverware brushed whoops and micros they're top flight all the way

It borrows some things from Silverware, but it’s a whole new code base. Silverware only ran on F1 chips. Quicksilver runs on F4’s so there’s a lot more memory and compute to work with.

Indeed it does. And since it is for F4 processors, it’s for more than just whoops. I ran it on a 5” (until I destroyed it lol) and it was AMAZING!

need to make the 11 hour drive out there at some point, hopefully when border crossing requirements ease up. For that canopy I tried it but had issues on hard bumps it would rotate and put everything off kilter and I had to shove a piece of foam at the top so that wouldn't happen, do you get that issue with the canopy or have you done something to solve it?

I have not had that problem. On mine, the camera lens is a very tight fit. I had to really stretch the TPU to get the camera in there. It’s possible to rotate the camera with your fingers, but it has never moved in a crash. Maybe you just need to make the opening a tiny bit smaller?

How is that printed canopy? I’ve got a moblite6 and the included strap mount puts the camera looking to the right slightly and it just doesn’t like to stay in one spot very much.

Please do add a video on the setup! I've been told that Quicksilver is superior to Betaflight but I don't have experience with the firmware!

Wow that is quick! How do you guys keep track of lap times and who wins? I guess you can put a transponder on such whoops. Or is it by VTX channel?

The lap timer measures vtx signal. No transponder needed.

Would like a follow up on this. I flashed m moblite 7 with quicksilver and it took me a while to understand but it flies pretty good especially the drunk gyro I used to get. Lot on this particular board

Hi Mate, looks like it works really well :-) I have a meteor65 with an angle drift problem I just can't seem to fix... Any chance you think this firmware could help? Or do I just need a new board? Cheers mate

Do you mean it keeps pulling in one direction in angle mode? If so, try calibrating the accelerometer. You can do it in the Betaflight Configurator with whoop on a level surface, or via stick command (left stick in the upper left corner, then right stick straight down… I think)

@@MrShutterBug hi Nate, thanks for answering so quick. It keeps pulling to the right and gets worse over time. I've calibrated a few times and have the accelerometer set to reset to the gyro every 30 seconds which kinda helps. Also had the idea to turn the board 90 degrees so that the drift might be forward rather than sideways.... But haven't tried that yet.

Hey 👋🏽 I have an Quicksilver related question 🙋🏻‍♂️ I have an HM 1S 5A ELRS 200 mW board and QS shows me 5 power levels in the Configurator.. Level 1 must be 25 mW, level 2 is ?! mW ? can level 5 be more than 200 mW ? but will level 5 fry my board then ? it's like the orig. Mobula 6 board with BTFL, which only could do 25 mW but you could set it to 100 mW and it indeed has more range but it wasn't recommended, because you could fry your board.. didn't tried out the OSD yet, to see if there are also 5 power levels..

Not that the know of, but Quicksilver supports several F4 AIO flight controllers that are used in BNF quads.

The round gates are made from PEX tubing with LEDs inside. The stands are made of PVC.

For this race I was using 300mah Nitro Nectar batteries. I have been told that it is a rebrand of the Tattu, so the Tattu 300 should be good too.
