Dear Jrose11, idk if you'll see this, but i've discovered your channel about 3-4 months ago. i've watched every solo run you've put out, and i've even rewatched a good amount of them. I'm currently serving over seas in Iraq, and this niche pokemon content you've created has been the perfect entertainment whenever I browse youtube. I play randomizer nuzlockes on my laptop to pass the time, and I always share the screen with your youtube videos while i'm playing. Just wanted to show my appreciation for the content you create, and thanks for keeping the early gen pokemon games alive. You rock man, keep it up.
Getting wobbuffet from the game corner to fight Whitney was such a galaxy brain play. Never thought about that in all the time I’ve spent on these games
One thing that I'm enjoying about this run is of how many strategies there are to come up with. Just because a Pokemon doesn't work for the 4th gym leader and so they get box, they can work for the 5th gym leader and gets withdrawn(for example, NOT saying that was the case, you can change the numbers around if you want, I just picked random numbers that were sequential). Edit: One other thing I like about this run is that I imagine that the second set of gym leaders I don't imagine will be an automatic joke(since they're lower levels than even the Elite Four in the cases like Koga's daughter).
How did he get the lvl 40 graveler and Rhydon, in-game trade or? But yes, the game always was such a bad time for wild pokemons, why I also didnt like Soulsilver re-makes, despite them being praised a lot.
Key would be to catch a Gastly in the sprout tower and level it up until it learns Curse. Then go around battling mono normal type trainers for exp, or even just roll the dice and go into battle with the hope you don’t get hit with a physical attack on the first turn, land a hypnosis, followed by curse and that the opposing Pokémon sleeps for 5 turns. Would also be easy victories over the trainers with Magikarps considering the only level 100 move that it would have is Tackle, just have to set up the curse mentioned earlier. Also would pay to have multiple Gastlys so you can repeat if one is to faint. Take notes jrose!!!
I do like the "All Opponants are level 100" streams from what I've seen of them. Hopefully he touches on that challenge soon(don't care which gen or anything)
The fact you didn't go for an ice/electric/rock hidden power unknown at the beginning to help push through sprout tower and Falkner was interesting. This is one of the few challenges that an unknown could have genuine viable use. Would have been cool to see.
Nice job. Though, speaking as someone who’s watched MoogleBoss’ old 0 EXP challenge and theory-crafted about if the rival could beat Red as presented in-game (he can), there was an easy way to beat Red’s Espeon casualty-free. When Espeon comes in after Rhydon, send in Sneasel to absorb the incoming Psychic. Per MoogleBoss’ notes on their past Red experience, Red will retaliate against a dramatically underleveled Sneasel with Swift. So Misdreavous can absorb that in kind. Then it’s just a PP stall until Psychic runs out, at which point the stall chain continues with Mud-Slap. So you then replace Sneasel in the stall with a flying type like Golbat. Once Espeon is tapped of Mud-Slap, Misdreavous can just come in and squat on the remaining Swift uses to cast Curse.
hey jrose, i was listening to u beginning of pandemic with yourntop 5 videos and i still listen now, through all the turbulent and terrifying changes of my life its extremely comforting to have your videos as a constant despite them. i know i am not the only one who finds your videos special, keep doing what youre doing and enjoy your holiday
Honestly, came for the pokemon gameplay, stayed for the personality. He has a very positive and calming atmosphere, plus very creative with the strategies and his commitment to the runs
@@Altair1243WAR when he talked abt not hsing double team is what struct me, and funnily enougj while i hate that every youtuber these days has to ask for likes and subscribes, whenever jrose says it i dont mind it at all and i in fact am pleased he is trying to get more from the algo, it is crazy what high quality and genuininity from content can do for enjoyeability
Tip for Red's Snorlax: To sped up the strat with Misdreavus, teach it swagger to boost Snorlax atk and with curse residual damage, it shouldn't have much chances to keep spamming rest. Also teaching rest sleep talk to your Snorlax might be a great way to waste Special Attackers PP since only in generation 2, when a pokemon uses sleep talk and it select rest, it doesn't fail, restoring your HP back to full if damaged and resetting sleep turns.
I’ll admit, I didn’t expect this to be next, but I’m excited to see if this will be possible! Red seems like he’ll be a really rough challenge especially with how low level the wild pokemon are in this game
This was super fun to watch! Seemed like a lot more strategy had to go into it compared to most of the solo ones, which was really cool to see because you're great at planning!
You should include in the thumbnail or the title/description that you don't use items in battle and legendaries because that's seriously very impressive! Didn't even think that would be possible without evasion moves or Attract. Amazing video!
I love you man, thank you for all these videos. You have been my go-to guy for eating and sleeping videos for months at this point, and I am really excited now for a new video every day. It's the weekend, I'm enjoying my meal and every second of this video, excited to see how you will beat every trainer. Keep going!
Yes! I did a no exp playthrough of Blue after seeing your level 5 video. Such a fun run and fresh take on how to play the game. Looking forward to this one.
Mad props to all the videos from this channel recently! Also this looked like a super cool challenge, always great to see a variety of Pokemon showcased in a run.
What a fun run, thank you so much for all the effort you put into these videos! It is a joy listening to you narrating all your thought processes that go into a run like this
I'm amazed at the fact that that challenge actually turned out to be possible, given how difficult Red already is, even without self-imposed challenges. Amazing videos, Jrose.
This backlog of videos is insane! 0.0 I wish I could always watch this show every day since it's just ALWAYS a good time, and has shown me a lot of the reasons to love the earlier generations of pokemon! Totally understand that is probably and insane amount of work for you, hope it's as fun for you as it is for all of us!
this was a really fun run, and a nice change of pace from all the solo runs we have been getting lately. keep it up, Jrose! You're my favorite pokemon youtuber!
Oh my god Jrose this was an amazing run! Thank you so much for uploading it! I had a blast watching it :D Really creative strategies, was at the edge of my seat the entire time!
Dude, I can’t believe we’re getting full 30 min to 1hr long videos during your month of uploads. I love it and am looking forward to watching all of them!
Really enjoying the month of jrose! keep it up. I think these funky challenge videos really show your creativity and knowledge of the games. narratively on point as always! Really fun video as a break from the normal jrose runs!
Damn dude. I'm watching your videos for a couple years now, and I think this is probably my favourite. Lanturn getting that kill is just icing on the Snorlax cake. Very nice one!
Best video so far! Such a pleasant change to have the complete opposite scenario. Free choice of pokemon but no leveling instead of a fixed pokemon which almost always has to level up to 100. I'm excited for more of these runs!
Absolutely brilliant so far, love the content and the whole month has been so dang exciting, thank you, you’ve gotten me through essay after essay this month
Jeez, I am jealous, cause I have been the opposite. I also love the content and the daily uploads, but I am struggling with my work related assignments because I keep getting distracted by the new JRose videos lol. Enjoy your holiday season and good luck on all the essays 👍
yooooooo Jrose! first, amazing work with the starter Videos you uploaded previously! i really enjoyed them. I was convinced that venusaur would make it, i was very surprised how broken bastoise became during the run. Its nice to see youre back more frequently now :D and second, I really appreciate your work as a pokemon runner and playing on concistency rather than on lucky strats is soooo good. Yeah its pokemon and some luck will be always involved but it makes it pretty much obvious what pokemon are true Diamonds or just abyssmal stinkers in PVE. (dont get me wrong the bad pokemon are super fun to watch tho ;D) Please keep it up your content rocks!
Such a fun run! Always love your gsc videos anyway, but this is a great break from the normal one pokemon runs. Some really interesting strategies, I think my favorite was using detect to let hitmonlee hi jump kick itself to KO. Never even crossed my mind!
I think this is my new favourite Jrose11 video, I love the inventiveness of strategies for a challenge like this. Please consider more multi Pokémon challenge runs.
Loved seeing the different Pokémon strats, more interesting IMO and def more interesting to play like you said haha. Looking forward to the next one, which I’m sure will happen because you know, the whole whole month of videos thing... which rulesss
@@ryroller9394 good point, I worry too about the workload starting to wear on JRose. I hope very much that the community would respond with respect and understanding if he needed to interrupt the month of uploads for any reason.
Pretty sure if he outright said he was stressed, which hasn't happened to my kniwledge, most people would prefer he relax the schedule to whatever best fits his schedule After all, the potential short-term gains are way less than the long-term (Plus I'm not some kind of insensitive monstrosity)
Very good run! I do have a question though, if Jrose sees this. You mentioned being able to use Rare Candies, but it never got mentioned again (unless I missed something). I would think they would at least be useful for getting an evolution from a high-leveled first form, or for getting to a move that a fresh catch might not have. Did you use any Rare Candies this run at all and just not mention it, or did they go completely unused? Loving all the videos! =)
Dude u like ALWAYS have the best random facts in your videos. Your fun facts be more interesting then the actual fact videos...the Waterstone thing I had no idea about . That was awesome. I like learning stuff like that
This is my favorite video you've done for your Month of Jrose so far!!! Looking forward to the rest! It's been such a pleasure to come home from work and have another new video ready to go and cheer me up, thank you for all that you do!!!
Not surprised Graverler did so well it was in the Prima guide for the game as one of the best Pokémon to play the game with oh btw love the vids man thanks for all the uploads we the fans appreciate you!
That Elite 4 + Lance gauntlet was amazing. I would never do a challenge like that because I'd be too terrified to use TMs too early and be screwed later, so I couldn't pull the sort of strategies needed to win here.
Love the video! Always exciting to see the kinds of strategies runs like these can lead to. Gotta disagree about Lanturn though. Going from chinchou's weird lantern eyes to normal pokemon eyes is such a downgrade I struggle to really love it
I wanna say, I love all the pokemon challenges people do. Definitely have opened me up to using a whole different variety of Pokémon I'd normally never use
Awesome. I didn't watch it yet, but I am sure it's gonna be awesome. And it's nice to not know if your today's run gonna be "standard" run or some other challenge.
This is so cool! What a flex! Really interesting video with a few unexpected Johto favourites! Feel like you slept on my boy Ursaring in Dark Cave for the elite 4 (maybe) with Strength/Rest/middling dark coverage and 130 attack in place of sneasel but what an amazing video where you explored loads of options. This should be far enough down to not be a spoiler.... but sad Wobbafett became irrelevent so quickly! That was a really unexpected pick!
You have desensitized me to the true challenges of these runs. You explained the premise and I thought "Red will be the only problem you run into" then realized that even the E4 was a dozen+ levels above what you could get and still thought "nah, easy for JRose"
Love your vids and especially love when you explore your post rby content. Looking forward to the lvl 5 full game run if it ever happens.~~ Thanks for the content really helps when im feeling down or anxious. Cheers!
In fact, considering that every single status move has an innate 25% chance of failing on gen 2, the actual chance of Gengar hitting Hypnosis in one turn is 45%. That means missing 5 times in a row is actually around 5% chance... Is not that huge, but we have seen Tackle missing multiple times, right? 😂
No, the AI modifier makes it so all status moves have 75% accuracy regardless of their original accuracy, it doesn't take away 25% accuracy from them. So Hypnosis when used by the AI in Gen 2 (and Gen 1) is actually more accurate than usual.
