@@ENDO-CYNTH14 don't know if you were asking a serious question, but in case you were, JRose calls Agatha "the Agatha lottery" because her pokémon spam a bunch of RNG-based attacks such as confuse ray and hypnosis, so that winning against her is akin to winning a lottery.
because he isn't creating them daily, these are already made. Doesn't mean he didn't work his butt off to get the month of videos as he posted before, but this is why we are getting them daily.
The destiny bond play at 1:04:50 when you anticipated the switch from Aerodactyl to Charizard was one of the best things I’ve seen you do. Bravo! Definitely one of your most exciting videos throughout. Also I hope you hold on to that Crobat, it’s certainly special
No, you'd have to realy on super tanky Pokemon with as many buffs and debuffs as possible and force the other Pokemon to damage themselves with Struggle or otherwise, and resort to Struggle yourself whenever absolutely necessary. It'd take much, much longer but I say it would be possible. At any case, it's not a PACIFIST run, if you are literally doing moves that deal damage on purpose. I mean, take Leech Seed for example... it deals damage on every turn, just like Poison status. The only difference is that it isn't called Poison and heals you a little bit too. Curse literally kills the other Pokemon. Using any move that causes Confusion status is forcing the opponent to damage themselves. I swear, every time I look up a Pacifist run, people always cheat and never get called out. @@hitmanHunter620
This is my least favorite time of year (my partner died last November) and honestly having a JRose video to look forward to every day helps. Cheers man
Go for it Jrose this has been the best month, you’ve made it each one better than the last, I’ve been home sick from work for a few weeks and watching your videos is helping me stay up beat during this difficult time I’m going through. Just want you to know your my favourite RU-vidr and you’ve got a fan for life here bro! Also I’m giving this video the Official OG Bug Catcher stamp of approval, certified by the Panel of Viridian Forest Bug Catcher’s!
hope ya feel better soon dude! P.S. if you put a metapod in the freezer it can double as a fairly decent ice pack. Can be kinda nice when you've got a fever :)
Crobat was the MVP here. It was there from the start and had multiple clutch victories. Jumpluff may have been the centerpiece of the run but Crobat's speed, confusion plus typing made it so that it could ensure victory whenever the team needed it.
One thing that could've been really helpful for this run is the TM for Swagger, which can be found on the 5ht floor of the lighthouse. Didn't even realize this move existed before gen 4 because this move can be potentially incredibly powerful on a Pokemon with the capability to setup reflect and increase its defence stats. The best option that I've found is Mr. Mime in Gold and Silver, but you could probably do something similar with Defence Curl even if Reflect isn't as available as I would've liked. Mind you, if you wanna do something really cool on actual hardware, you could transfer Pokemon up with the Reflect TM and then teach it Barrier. Pokemon like Hypno would work really well for this because it also gets Amnesia
I’m surprised with how creative you get with these challenges. You are the definition of a true Pokémon master. Gamefreak or Pokémon should definitely put you in their hall of fame records if they have any sort of thing like that. Your videos are the highlight of my day. You even beat the elite four and champion with level 5 Pokémon. Your tactics and gameplay and challenges are truly bonkers. I don’t even think the majority of the folks at game freak or Pokémon have even accomplished some of these feats that you have put out. It is truly remarkable. You definitely deserve some recognition in the Pokémon world. You definitely got our recognition on RU-vid. Kudos to you. Keep doing what you’re doing champ!!
Not to be corny but these challenge run videos have been such a welcome distraction from what’s otherwise been a really rough couple of weeks and I appreciate them so much.
Man I just love the energy you bring. I don't mind provanity, but it is nice to have a wholesome creator. If you see this keep it up my fellow Canadian friend
Every time I see a new video from this man. I think “wow, what a challenge how could he possibly one up this.” And then his next video, is even crazier. Bravo.
Bro you have absolutely lost your mind over the past few weeks, these challenges have been entirely insane! Just remember that you're allowed to take a break if ya need to man! We're still gonna be here when you get back, don't worry :)
Paras learns Spore at Lvl 25 in Crystal, and the wild Paras go up to only 17 in the Bug Catching Contest. In HGSS, Paras learns Spore at Lvl 17 and can be found at 17 in the Contest. That's probably what you're thinking of.
@@av2279 I'm amazed Paras learns Spore so early, considering the _disgustingly_ late levels other mushroomy Pokemon like Shroomish and the Foongus line learn it at
Absolutely great to see you enjoy a full team for once. Amazing strats used throughout although post-ilex forest could've been easier if you delivered Kenya to get the TM and used Hypnosis/Nightmare to save HP Keep up the great work Edit: Just realised Bayleef wasn't as useful as expected, maybe a run would be easier with Quilava with Smokescreen so the enemy misses when supersonic is missing
I love his solo runs because it's how I played the game as a kid (like this is the one lol). But these videos are incredibly satisfying to watch. I can feel the relief and frustration in specific instances. Keep doing your thing brother. You know it's a troubling sign when you see jumpluff as the thumbnail lol
LOL Jrose this was such a creative run my friend, I LOVE IT! Also, was this a ''feel good'' run for you to pay back the AI for all the status effects it's given you over the years....Agatha lottery SO deserves this 🤣
Jumpluff: Carries an entire run with Leech Seed/Sleep Powder, the only time it has ever been a cornerstone to a team. Jrose11: "This Crobat!" To be fair, the stall crobat was pretty awesome.
It would have been so badass if you had used Fly for that last turn against the Dragonite as a pseudo protect, since the battle was going to be over before you actually got the hit part of the move in.
Thats kind of why I thought he had it, though technically it is still a use of a move other than a status one. Would've been really cool to see utilized regardless
@@Neceroe No, the Challenge was "Only Status Moves"! If the Challenge was actually "Pacifist/No Damage infliction": Curse, Nightmare and Poison inducing moves would have to be banned as well, as they're literally applying DOT(damage over time) and nothing else. While OHKO Moves would become legal, because just like Perish Song, they just insta kill, without dealing actual damage. And of course, the First turn of any 2 turn move would become legal... As well, as any attacking move if the opponent is Immune. Like the 2nd turn of Skull Bash against a Ghost Type.~ And ... Actually... One could even argue that the confusion debuff/status should be banned, because the self inflicted damage is still damage... Making OHKO Moves, Destiny Bond and Perish Song the only legal ways to kill an opponents Pokémon. And thus the early game impossible.
These videos are all top tier content. For some of these "impossible" runs have you thought about spawning in rare candies to skip the grind? Once it's "possible" to win a wild battle its feasible that you can repeatedly fight that same enemy to level to what you need from there or spawn the candies to "mimic" it. The time you spent grinding in the weedle run was murder, rip jrose
A young Zubat flew around Route 30 for many years, watching as Pokémon Trainers pass him by without a passing glance as they continued on their journeys to the far-off place known as the Pokémon League, but he never stopped thinking "I'll be there someday, I can go the distance." And one day, he was met with a curious trainer who chose him for a peculiar team. At first, his dreams were dashed, as Zubat soon learned he was on a team being moulded for a pacifist style. But that didn't dampen his spirit, because he finally had his chance: "I won't look back, I can go the distance." Through the trials and tribulations, he and his teammates fell time and time again. "But I won't lose hope, 'till I go the distance, and my journey is complete." - He thought, soon becoming the unexpected linchpin of this team, as he grew and evolved; withstanding the mightiest foes like the incredible Dragonite. "Like a shooting star, I will go the distance, I don't care how far, I can go the distance." - No matter how perilous the journey became, the Zubat, who was left behind to rot pressed on, and was flying above the world that once seemed daunting and peerless to him as a mighty Crobat. And when faced with the ultimate challenge, with his friends beside him, he endured the ultimate battle and emerged victorious. Against all odds and expectations, the lost and lamenting Zubat emerged as a victorious and triumphant Croabt; the centre of a Champion Team who went the distance and beyond.
Just started this video, and all I can say is I really hope to see Umbreon in this. Sand attack/Double Team/Tail Whip, Confuse Ray, Moonlight and Toxic is all you need and they alone can basically solo the darn run.
I love the idea of this challenge in later gens. More status moves available + abilities that could lead to some interesting strategies but with the AI on the whole being much better.
I like how you lined it up so when you said, “Battle Will again and again and again,” the game responded, “There’s no Will to battle!” 😉 Great video Jrose!
What an amazing video. I'm really enjoying the month of JRose and the daily uploads. I know you worked really hard on these. It was a fun run, I didn't think there'd be enough time to beat Red, but wow does he suck in this game. Funny how you can beat him with Pokemon 30 levels or more lower. That Crobat is a legend. Really great strategy. You'd be a good stall player haha. Been enjoying the R/B solo runs too.
Jrose has been going hard with the good content bro, it feels so good to see a new Jrose in my feed every day. Keep up the fantastic work! You and Scott are easily my favorite Poketubers
My prediction before watching this video is that Jrose is gonna' essentially be taking revenge for the Agatha Lottery by inflicting that same frustration on every mandatory battle...
These videos just keep getting crazier and crazier. I've always been interested in seeing how it would look to run like a full smogon stall team in game. I guess now i'll find out lol.
Stall teams aren't just "heal a shitload apply no pressure." A good stall player will be constantly gaining resources and applying pressure at the same time, so as to capitalise on your mistakes.
@14:45 Gastly: "One Supersonic miss, ah ha ha! Two Supersonic misses, ah ha ha!" I know we don't do the Count thing anymore, but Gastly literally has the fangs for it.
i know this is an old video but these have been a huge comfort while i've been laid up in bed. i haven't been sick like this in ages, but your pokemon videos are so entertaining to watch. crobat is so cool, i've always loved it
An amazing run! No items in battle, no duplicate Pokémon, and no cheesy all destiny bond/ perish song strategy. Just insane! turns out crowbat wasn’t the hero jrose deserved but the one that he needed
I been watching jrose videos all week now... Damn man, he really puts a lot of thought into these. Very informative. Very high effort challenge videos. Thank u 😊
