Guys since Amalgam was removed and it's harder to get poison this strategy is legit. I just played my first game with Daryl on tier 1 and I was second, even though I didn't play that well ( lost 3x to Nefarian, because he just removed all my divine shields ). I forgot I also need to go for buffed divine shield resets, so I didn't even play "correctly" and I got second. I'm at 7k rating, so it's not like it was a low mmr lobby either. This strategy is good and it's also not that easy to play, so from now on whenever I'll get Daryl I'll play this strategy to improve. Thanks for this video !

i think its possible if you play at 1 mmr

the slow animations are painfull to watch, when compared to the fast speed of the video

The problem with this was the amount of time he gives his opponents to come back, the players level being one and the minions all being low star means you have a very low maximum damage

Tried this today and got pretty unlucky with divine shield picks, still came 3/4! Also everyone got strong real quick.

So, yes... if poison didn't exist. And also if you have the most busted character too, because staying at level one actually makes him more broken.

This is the best way to play Deryl because it's so in-flavor for him. Everyone else is smashing each other in the face and going for super powered minions, while Deryl just dances around, throws hats everywhere, and when he wins, he just gives the other guy a lil' boop on the nose.

This strat is getting buffed. New deathrattle will ALWAYS target minuons with no divine shield now.

Correct me if I'm wrong but HysteriA was misplaying a few times during this vid. He was selling to make the 3rd minion bigger when buying triples. The size of the third doesn't matter, it only adds the 2 biggest so he wasted quite a few stats on minions that didn't count

So many misplays also prob want to dance on lvl 2 for pogo but then wouldn’t be in line with title but for the love of god stop bluffing the 3rd minion in a triple

Its better to upgrade the tavern when its a 1v1 situation. Dont need to change the team but you cause more damage when you win.

This strategy was first publicly explored by a Chinese streamer like a month ago. So much that it gained a nickname "Gua Sha", after a traditional Chinese treating procedure that treats people through scratching their skin. Because you don't really hurt your opponent with this strategy. At that time, people usually start tiering up before the final battle to actually deal some damage to your opponent. You usually face a guy with quite some hp and you gave them too much time staying tier 1. OP at tier 6 can outclass you very very easily in 3 to 5 turns. This game looks a lot closer because the final boss was only 5 hp. (In retrospective view, you could've tiered up a couple of times to actually kill your opponent in that 3 damage battle.) Even then, beating the final boss is basically a mission impossible. After several iterations, people learned that doing this at Tier 3 is the best. You can still buy out minions you don't want, and the 6/3 is one of the best minions to buff in the game. Not to mention the 3/1 magnetic, the 3/4 divine shield taunt. Also the 3/3 buffer has a bonus beyond selling.

This looks incredibly fun... With a perfect internet connection. While it got second, there's definitely might be something to this strategy, and doing this for a while, but tiering up at some point (like turn 9 or so) might make this better, if for no other reason than to do ANY damage when you win.
