OK everyone I'm going to do my best to add to this conversation. My son enlisted in Feb. of this year and since he had a low ASVAB score of 25 he was signed up for the O9M program, he shipped out on June 10 2024 spent one week in reception and then was moved to where the program was being offered @ this time it is FT. Jackson SC. He just finished the program last Friday with a test score of 54 and jumped 29 points. He told me that they are suspending the program and according to what he was being told they're sending some people home. He is currently still in SC waiting on a hold for 3 weeks until they put him and others in a BCT unit. This program worked for my son and I hope it works for others don't give up stay strong and vigilant. Texas Army National Guard Go Guard.

Thank you for sharing your son's experience. I can say that, since I am also going to 09M either this month or the first week of next month, the program is still in fact going on. I was just approved for 09M my recruiter also just got an email yesterday with the jobs that those who have to go to 09M would qualify for no matter if they score higher. Currently its only like 17 jobs at the moment. I can't WAIT to leave!
The recruiter explained to me about it like 6 days ago so I hope I can still for the asvab if not I guess I’m studying a lot more then; I hope everything but the best🙏🫡
It’s easy buy an asvab for dummies book and study the heck out of it. That’s what I did during my time before even talking to a recruiter. Studied it really hard met with a recruiter scored my score on the test got the job I wanted bam.

I just swapped from marines to army after failing asvab at MEPS and for you to say I should’ve learned all this knowledge my entire life Life is motivating because if I were to be in the 09m program I’d be grateful for even being accepted and I’d take any job that’s available because it’s not given, it’s earned.

I scored 28 on the asvab. I completed meps, my medical wavier just got approved yesterday. Going back to meps on Thursday to swear in & hopefully sign my contract as 09M. Omg, yes my recruiter told this program is stopping and I was like for the Gen z generation how we going to pass because school is barely teaching us lol and how they going to recruit people. Now look at us, we had to rely on a whole program to have a better score and we the upcoming generation. Were grits 🤦🏾♀️
I was never great in school my average grade was a B- in HS my ACT was a 17 but I studied on my own for months for the ASVAB and passed with an 82. It’s definitely doable you just have to have the drive to work hard and achieve what you want to when you get to that point trust me you’ll get good scores
The ASVAB is easy as hell. Pay more attention in school, because everyone I've seen that says school isn't teaching them is always someone that's not actually trying that hard. And you have the internet which has all the information you could ever possibly need, show some initiative.

Well that really sucks, because I'm just waiting on a waiver before I swear in. I guess I'll discuss with my recruiter how far I am from entrance bodyweight requirements and really put my nose to the grindstone so I can still go before the end of the fiscal year. Also, I didn't even know there was an academic track for the future soldier program, I was under the impression it was all weight loss and fitness oriented.

I am 32 years old recently got my high school this past February. My opinion on it is if you want the incentives and the bonuses study Get your high school or GED study extremely hard and get the highest score. Possible doesn’t owe you anything I’m working on getting my scores high enough and getting into the Navy.

Effective 08 July 2024, all RA 09M enlistments, both 16-20 and 21-30, require the following. 1. The individual recruiter must enlist an RA Alpha (50-99 QT)(GA/SA/HA or PSA) before being authorized to enlist any RA 09M. 2. Both the 09M and the GA//SA/HA/PSA, must enlist within the same RSM. The following rules continue to apply regarding this program. 1. BDEs will issue a control number that must accompany every 09M. 2. BDEs will keep track of the control numbers and will utilize the Excel logbook provided by EEPD. 3. Continue to process in accordance with UM 23-045 and 23-047. The below criteria must be met to enlist an 09M: 1. Regular Army only 2. NPS and all 1-day Days of Service (DOS) applicants who have not shipped to training are authorized 3. Possess a high school diploma or TIER 1 education credential 4. Con Dep program ARMS up to 2% All below are not Authorized to enlist as an 09M: 1. USAR applicants no exceptions 2. PS, no exceptions 3. Applicants requiring a Major Misconduct waiver 4. ESL applicants not authorized (The 16-20 expansion for 09M, does not include an expansion for 09C/FLRI. 21 AFQT or higher remains in effect for FLRI.) 5. Dual, Arms (2.1 and higher) and FSPC is not authorized All other policies and initiatives remain in effect.
I enlisted in June and shipped out on July 16. I spent a week in reception before going to a holdover company to be shipped out to this “program”. Well my buddies who I was with got choose to be shipped to the program well they got sent to another holdover company. There was so many people going to this program that they had to choose 130 people to ship out every Monday and Friday out of thousands of people well while I was there I never got to it bc I was being holding for months. Then they closed it in our face sent people back to reception they got sent to ft Moore. Ft Moore is full and can’t take no more so they sent them back to ft Jackson where we were at. They are closing ft Moore location now. They offered everyone infantry I choose not to take it so they chapter 11 me out and A Entry level separation. Even when people got shipped to this program and passed they were not offering any job besides infantry or artillery. I would not join

It’ll be back sometime on or after October 1st but I agree. It’s a great program. Unfortunately, I also feel that some people going through the program are not mentally prepared for what to expect. Examples include corrective training and other army training. I wish Recruiters would share with them it’s going to have a BCT feel. Thanks as always!
I'm going to tell you about my experience, I just finished my AIT in 25B and I'm doing HRAP and in 1 week I'm going to my first duty station, my first language is Spanish, I barely speak English or rather I'm learning it now, I wasn't to none of these programs, I tried very hard to get a reasonable score on the ASVAB, before joining I was overweight and with the language and with all that here I am I went through the entire training with a lot of sweat, if I could do it anyone can
I went 09M when they just started the program was really good preparation before basic, I was studying late late at night and went from 29 to 88 being the highest in the company. It is a really good program!

I was in 09mike, because English is my second language and I honestly do not recommend it, that program is garbage, almost everything they give you is not included in the test, the test is almost 70% algebra and algebra classes are only 1 or 2 days, there is a review of everything you have seen in school life. Better study and prepare yourself and don't waste your time on 09mike, seriously, it's 2 weeks of classes with a military regiment, the physical punishment is constant, you're very tired and you don't want to study every 3 weeks, the program opens, so if you didn't pass it, you're recycling for another company until you pass the ASVAB that is until you reach your 3rd recycling and if you pass well, otherwise they will give you a waiver to go to infantry, most likely.
Sounds like you should have gone FLRI, instead of 09M. FLRI sends you to ESL training and retest. Sorry your recruiter placed you in the wrong program. Did you pass? Thank you for watching, sharing and stay blessed! 🇺🇸🙏🏼

Once you pass they pick a job for you a lot of my buddies got bullcrap jobs I just got home I was gone 2 months even the drill Sargents tell you not to discuss about the program at all. I wonder why
Recently just graduated from my Ait, was with a guy who did the 09 mike program, he always passed his test in AIT, hopefully they continue the program as I met alot of guys ar Fort Jackson who went there and they did as much as the rest of us did in BCT.

That’s a phenomenal score… almost double what I got. So don’t worry. That just means you’re able to sign a contract and pre-qualified for possible incentives. @@exoversegaming For National Guard, we still have the body fat improvement slots but no ASVAB improvement slots. Reserve exhausted all their slots and for active duty, depending on if the my contract someone scoring a 50+, then they’ll be given a 09M slot.

30yrs old scored a 75 percentile on the ASVAB and got triple digits in all the line scores, just waiting on the approval to do the medical exam which if I can do it I’m like 95% certain I’m going to need medical waivers so fingers crossed

Now this may sound irrelevant to the subject here but I just have to get this off my chest. I know of a female soldier I work with who is in the guard with me. She wants to earn the rank E-5 Sergeant. However, the thing I find infuriating is she has a strong sense of entitlement complex. It’s Her Way or the Highway and All About Her Her Her. She cannot take being corrected or told to do something and yet she still wants to be a Sergeant and has applied for an E-5 Sergeant slot at five different units now. For this reason, a lot of NCO’s feel she is not mature enough for this leadership role. I believe she is not ready to handle it. Respect is s two way street and if she expects other soldiers to respect her but she cannot give respect, other soldiers will disrespect her back. She still has yet to understand that she’s not entitled to other people’s respect. That has to be earned as well. E-5 promotions and respect is not given freely like candy. The sun does not shine on her behind and other people and their respect does not revolve around her.
Control the things you can control. Sounds to me the NCO’s already know what’s up and are responsible for rating her. If she’s found to be the way you say she is, she won’t out score you or others and her evaluations will reflect that. Focus on how you can improve yourself, hone your skills/knowledge and potential leadership skills. When making an on the spot correct, do so in a way that you would like someone else to do so to you. Be the hardest working person in the room, work well with others, possibly help her be better and take the time to get to know her and how she ticks. Hopefully your leaders are mentoring you guys and developing you. Good luck and thank you for sharing!

So what happens if your in this program and there is no more available jobs when you finally pass the test? Ive been hearing they are forcing you into infantry or you can chapter out.

I wont lie I dont even know what 09M is...I'm shipping out August 12th. I am 1% over the allowed body fat. My recruiter told me im good to go and I will lose the weight in basic. Should I even reach out to my recruiter about the 09M Program? I already have my MOS so i'm good with the ASVAB its the fitness I need to work on.

I thought Arms 2.0 was the body weight portion. my recruiter is planning for me to do both 09M and Arms 2.0 but I need to get a 100 on the TAPAS for the Arms 2.0 program. I got a 96 on it last month and Im waiting to take it again this month. I did the Physical too but failed height and weight
Being 1-2% over your maximum allowable body fat percentage (MBFP) doesn’t require 09M. 09M for body fat is allowed for 2-8% over your MBFP… and yes, you’ll need a 100 on the WD section of the TAPAS unfortunately. Question: You mentioned that green card holders would have their naturalization citizenship after serving a particular amount of time. Would those service members who are green card holders still have to submit the forms to USCIS ( US Citizenship and Immigration Services) needed to obtain their naturalization citizenship? I have heard of service members thinking they would get it automatically, and when they found out they didn't get their naturalization citizenship automatically, they were disgruntled towards the military.
Hello there and thank you for reaching out! great question and to answer your question… They’ll complete a N-400 and N-426 before the ship and bring it with them or while at the training site. They’ll receive the study guide and at some point during their BCT/OSUT training they’ll knock out the written and verbal tests. On graduation day they’ll typically knock out the U.S. Citizenship Ceremony right before the Graduation Ceremony. It’s not automatic. It’s just free and expedited. I took the asvab 13 years after high school. I made a decently high score. I was nervous going in since it had been so long since my last test like that. I understand that everyone is smart in their own. With all that said, scoring below a 32 is failure on yourself. Not doing the research into what is on the asvab and focusing on what you struggle with is lazy. I know this could be mean. However, if your aren't able to take constructive criticism, you may want to rethink your career choice. Their are confusing parts of the test with the patterns and such, but failing the math and reading comprehension falls on you failing yourself in preparation for the test and the commitment you're going to make.

@@dogsareme100 Man, I couldn’t agree with you more… Especially with all the success they’re having with the program. If 98% are passing 31+, I don’t think there should be a limit. Unless they’re cooking the books and what they’re publicly sharing as the 98% success rate isn’t actually the success rate.
@@JZa-p5d Unfortunately, they changed the rules and you’ll have to pass the test and height ‘n weight in order to join with an Age waiver. Age waivers are no longer authorized in combination with the 09M Program.
@@AndriiPanchenko_ I think you’re confused. 09M program has nothing to do with Army Basic Training. 09M Program helps unqualified applicants that would not otherwise be able to join, temporarily join to have the Army cloth them, feed them, pay them, and training them to meet the ASVAB and Body Fat minimum requirements like a normal qualified applicant is required to meet when joining. Basic Training provides the basic Soldiering skills, training, discipline to transition from a civilian into a USA Soldier. @@TEAMSWARTZ Everything greatly depends on the company you end up in. In the first company I was assigned to, the physical exertion was more intense than in basic training itself. It all depends on the Drill Sergeants, who have unlimited authority. From my observations, the percentage of people who got injured was much higher than in basic training. You can only use your phone on Sundays for 30 minutes. The education is also very relative, as they prepare you for a test that is already outdated, and you take this type of test at MEPS. The internal Army test has a different format that you are not taught in this program. The vocabulary is also irrelevant. In essence, it’s a prison that everyone wants to get out of as soon as possible. If you don’t pass the exam on the first try, you move to a second company (which differs primarily by Drill Sergeants; in my case, this made a huge difference). If you fail three times, you get a waiver and generally have the opportunity to choose a specialty based on your line score. --- From what I heard from the first company I was initially assigned to, the success rate was about 30%. People who joined the program later had to wait at reception for more than a month until a spot opened up in the program. So, it turns out to be like this: 1.5 months waiting at reception, then on average 2 months in the program, plus 2 months of basic training, plus AIT. If you’re starting from scratch, this might be an option because there’s a 99% chance you’ll get some job in the Army. However, if your ASVAB score is around 25, I’d recommend not going and instead studying more at home.

I’m in the process of joining the navy going to meps this Tuesday and my recruiter said I’m good to go even tho I’m 30%BF well this corse still be available for the navy specifically?
The navy is hurting really bad for recruits right now same with army and af but navy does there stuff differently and the army as well which is why both branches never see eye to eye when on a lot of stuff but will still support each other on the same mission protecting the USA.
Ask your Navy Recruiter or 09M is still available with them and what they’re allowed for body percentages.. I, unfortunately don’t know the specifics to the Navy. Good luck and best wishes!
@@PdaadAbdullah It doesn’t matter if you’re a CAT4 or 3B… It’ll reopen on or after Oct 1st described in the video. If you’re currently a 3B, you can go through the BSEP Course at the Education Office on any Army base within your career. It’s limited to how many times you can but it’s available later on. You’re not stuck forever… Hope that helps and good luck!

@@PdaadAbdullah According to the the normal guidance it’s a possibility and you can discuss that with your recruiter at time of enlistment. But it’s currently closed except for ACTIVE Duty… At least from the last time I checked the update months ago. 🙏🏽

By the end of this program, everyone is within the normal eligibility standards. In my opinion, our education system is failing our kids and that’s why this program exists… I’m hoping that this being the last year of the high school students doing remote learning during COVID improves the quality of test takers next year. Time will tell. I went to this program in january everyone who ive talked to including the people in basic, ait and first duty station they all hated it. didnt matter the battalion or company it was all more corrective action than learning as in taking study time away because of punishment and changing the test on people teaching recruits the wrong shit and people failing over 100 people failed because of this, bad program very corrupt

Gotta have them! Nothing wrong with combat arms. Everyone is equally needed but in my opinion, 17-23yro should go initially for a combat support role to have actual tangible skills transferable and valuable on the civilian sector. Just my two cents 🙏🏽🫡 Thank you for watching and stay blessed! 🇺🇸
