Cancun is Fake Mexico (and it's safe)

Sounds like the kind of place most vacationers are looking for. Relaxing, safe, comfortable, reliable.... and maybe even reasonably priced.

There's always Hussong's! The last time I was in Mexico it was in Tecate, where the beer is brewed. It was a laid-back border town way off the tourist track. It's worth the visit. Stay safe, my friend. Cheers!

Resorts are the same everywhere just like hotel rooms. Snooze. We used to spend winters in Zihuatanejo when it was still a small fishing village. All built up now, so don't go anymore. My brother still lives in a small Mexican town in winter and summers in Canada. Resorts are policed, you need to know where the boundaries are. It isn't quite what you describe, and I have lots of first hand stories to tell, but in a resort you will be fine.

I lived in Mexico City for 2 years. I would never go to Cancun. Safe? Maybe now because the government sent in national guard troops. Tulum and Playa del Carmen are a bit better from what I've heard.

In Cancun, cab drivers are killing Uber drivers. Eliminating the competition.

We had a co-worker that was third generation American Mexican. He and his wife would go to Mexico for vacation. They would visit small towns and eat at the non tourist establishments. He said he wanted to live his ancestral roots. Well, he came back with hepatitis. Luckily we didn’t get infected and didn’t have to have any shots.

Do they have quiet RV parking under the palms, were wanna be expats can complain about how horrible their own county is? Please Linescrew1, please, I beg you, come back to the USA. She’s here-you know who I’m talking about-She’s tainting this country. ¡Me gustaría que te gusta Cancún!

CRVL said she wanted to buy property in Baja. But, she says that about every new place she goes. And, of course (no shock here)…she missed McDonalds, Burger King, and Wal Mart while down there. Those were just a few of the reasons she was glad to come back across the border. Her romanticized vision of Baja seemed to have disappeared after two months. The produce wasn’t as good down there. She couldn’t find fresh Tofu, but she did love those fresh Mexican tortillas. I think being woken up at midnight to pay for camping with no hookups was also getting under her skin. She was getting taken whether she liked it or not! And this Sunday, she is going to speak to us all live as we watch her last video together!!!!! She needs her friendlies to send her some money to pay for that Baja trip! haha 😂. It wasn’t as cheap as she thought it was gonna be. Wonder what kind of maintenance her rig needs now?

I could show you some very dangerous areas of St Louis. 😂 But I'd rather not go there. So you could just watch our local news and most nights you'll see plenty.
