As a Darkstalkers fan, this is a no-brainer for me. If somehow Capcom could negotiate with Marvel to release a collection with all its arcade fighting games, it would sell like crazy.

I’m hoping that we get a versus / marvel / x-men collection in the future -those games were brilliant. Just a few licensing issues to get over first!

I’m definitely grabbing a copy of this just for Darkstalkers. Growing up I had such a crush on Morrigan and Felicia lmao. Lots of other goodies on here too though like Red Earth.

The fact it took Capcom this long to finally bring any Darkstalkers game to a Nintendo console is a relief. Usually Street Fighter is all they give to Nintendo fans.

For the longest time, I wished to myself that Capcom would release a new Darkstalkers collection and *maybe* tack on Red Earth as a bonus, if I was really lucky. You can imagine how ecstatic I was to see the announcement for this collection, which not only met my desires but exceeded them. 😁 And who knows, maybe sometime down the line we might receive a 3D fighting game collection with Power Stone 1 & 2, Rival Schools, Project Justice, Star Gladiator, Plasma Sword, and Tech Romancer? 😉

I'm so pumped for this! I really hope this js the beginning of more Capcom fighting game collections. They could easily do another 4-5 collections with fighting games from the arcades through the PS2/Dreamcast era.

Super Gem Fighter has a special place in my heart from being a kid and my cousin beating the daylights out of me on it all the time... Oddly it gave me a love and appreciation for some fighters, plus it also taught me to take losses well because as much as I like playing these types of game, I'm not great at them.

Despite getting owned in the arcades, I definitely want to see the X-men vs street fighter games on the switch. It was fun even losing with those games to see all the crazy team comps imo haha.

I'm so excited to play the Red Earth Single player. A boss rush 1v1 rpg leveling fighter. That's pretty unique.

Pocket fighter is a legit love story to all of Capcom but its so detailed its insane. From Lei Lei facial animation when Hsien-Ko is getting hit or doing moves to Dan's raging demon only pouring out Red Gems which is on ode to his puzzle fighter style, the game is just full of references done in a hilarious way. , I giggle every time i play this game. I don't even care about winning or losing in that game. Its just a game that makes you purely happy and keeps you laughing. I wish Capcom would do a one time sequel for it.

Darkstalkers is so good. I used to hurt people with Felicia in marvel capcom 2. Low tier or not she was fun to beat people with lol.

10 games, a lot never released in the west, value is not that bad. I grew up in arcades in the 80's so yeah theses appeal to me. Cheers Glen, great review.

I think this is one of the most unique and largest collections of games in one package. I do love capcom and really like the fact they added SF Anniversary Edition to this collection as it's only been released on the street fighter 15th-anniversary collection and arcades in Japan. They could have added Vampire Chronicles which was released on Dreamcast and is very similar to the SF Anni where you can pick any character from any version. Gem Fighter, Red Earth, and Cyberbots are one off games are welcome editions to fit the crowd of games that died off. This is a Badass collection, I have been wanting to play Dark Stalkers for many years & I am just not going to hunt down the original versions & buy old consoles. I am totally excited for this & I am getting the physical.

I haven't touched any fighting games since that era of arcade games in mid-90's. I'm too lazy to learn fighting moves. :) Darkstalkers was my favorite though.

Question is a review code a full game or do only have a limited time to play it.

Looking forward to Red Earth, Pocket Fighters, Vampire Saviors 3 the most. Wished that Power Stone and Rival Schools could've made the cut. Hoping Capcom vs SNK gets its own business

I assume Power Stone was left off so that they can eventually release a 3D Fighting Collection with Power Stone 1 & 2, Rival Schools, Project Justice, etc…

I never got to try any of the Darkstalkers games, so this is good compilation to me. Maybe one day we will get an early 3D fighting games like Street Fighter EX series, Power Stone games, Rival School, and two Star Gladitor games. Never got to try any, except for Rival School as Project Justice on the west for the Dreamcast, back when I used to go to an anime club.

Super excited for this collection and all with rollback net code is huge!!

Pocket Fighter was my go-to arcade game when I was a kid. I was terrible at fighting games but the Pocket Fighter was so cute I didn't mind letting other people know how much I sucked..

I'd like to play Red Earth and Cyberbots looks like fun to me - one fighting game I grew up on was One Must Fall 2097 so any robot fighting game is always going to appeal.

Can you re-map controls?? I remember the lack of such an option significantly hampering the previous SF compilation, specifically for SFIII.

This should have really been called something like The Darkstalkers + Capcom Fighters Collection. I'm glad they included (AFAIK) all the Darkstalkers games, as that series has been long overdue for a proper Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Collection style treatment. I have barely played any of the Darkstalkers games but my favorite among them would probably be Vampire Savior 2 (the 3rd one, whatever the heck it's called; boy, are those Darkstalkers titles confusing as hell!). But for sheer pixel art goodness and gameplay intrigue, Red Earth. The level-up mechanic and the weird boss-rush style of the game sound cool.

I love these games, but I really want Capcom vs Snk. Really enjoyed it on Dreamcast back in the day.

Quoting the single greatest acting performance in a bad video game movie gets a thumbs up from me. These games are fantastic though and it's great to see all these old fighting games being put on all modern systems. It's taken two decades but now a Nintendo console has a library of fighting games to match the Sega Saturn and Dreamcast.

Darkstalkers 3 / Vampire Savior has the best character select music for me. It lives rent free in my head aha.

They should have included Saturday Night Slam Masters/Muscle Bomber 2. Still a great collection for Capcom fans.

My favorite is red earth. I would have like to seen rival schools in this collection but oh well.

You also get additional museum artworks and music tracks and the Three Wonders game from Capcom Arcade Stadium 2, if you order before the deadline date. I thought the value score was low I think the value is rather good at £3.29 per game plus bonus material and roll-back net code. I think we are rather spoiled with things and constantly want more these days some of it is down to our love for franchises that need the much-needed spotlight. During my gaming time of the 8bit & 16bit days getting 10 games for £32.98 would be considered a steal, as games cost then at least £39.99 each and imports were £59.99+. You won't see Power Stone here as it's a 3D fighter, we may see it in a 3D collection later on IF this does well I think. Licensing is a pain, and constantly ruining the preservation of original content. Some games are locked up because of it. Marvel & SNK games added to this in the future as DLC would be cool but again it's down to licensing again so most likely won't happen, and I will end up getting them on Dreamcast instead such a shame.

This is definitely a day one purchase! Hope capcom does a 3d collection with games such as power stone, plasma sword & project justice.

On the fence whether to buy now or wait for a sale...

Can't decide whether to get this or buy the games separately on Capcom's 2nd Stadium. I'm only really interested in trying Vampire Saviors, Gem Fighter, Puzzle fighter and Red Earth. The problem is Red Earth won't be available separately so the choice is spend $12 for the main 3 games I want or spend $40 to get Red Earth too.

Got it on Steam if I really like it might double dip and get on Switch physically.

My only memories I have of these games is my brother absolutely kicking my butt needles to say I was not the best at these games and I’m still trash to this day

I do love a capcom collection, but an it’s a very big BUT the SF anniversary collection is so laggy online. I’m a massive fan of street fighter was the best game on DS with SF5 it ran perfectly on-line. Now capcom can get huge monsters running around with a number of players taking them out with Rise on Switch, but Capcom can’t get 35yo fighters with two players running with out serious lag. Glen I know you own the street fighter anniversary collection?? Have you experienced the lag? What is your view on this. I just want a good on-line street fighter game

One thing that annoys me about this is that the original darkstalkers 3 on ps1 actually contained all 18 characters from the series but even with the 3 different versions of that game on here (including the 2 Japanese versions which are just slight modifications of the same game) you are forced to pick and chose. They should of ported the dreamcast or psp versions of DS3 which were the last games to have a full roster and included additional game modes. It would of made more sense to scrub the 2 Japanese versions of the game and replace them with marvel vs capcom, power stone or rival schools. Also revenge is just a updated version of night warriors making night warriors pointless to have too. Egh, rant over.

The reason proposed in review of why Vampire Savior is the Japan-only version is seeming bullshit. The Sega Saturn version had unlockable version in English via a code. I guess the Saturn version will still remain the best.

They should make Darkstalkers3 full roster in ONE game since VSav2 and VHun2 are considered as downgrade versions

They could have added power stone, that being said, in my humble opinion, this is expected from Capcom since it is the videogame company with the most missed opportunities in history. I almost wish someone like Nintendo or Microsoft would buy then only to show Dini Crisis, Darkstalkers, power stone, captain commando, onimusha (only to name a few) some love.

First of all thank you for using one of the best lines from the street fighter movie. With that said I love dark stalkers but did we really need half of this collection as nothing more then ds games. I want this for red Earth and puzzle fighter but I don't want to spend 40$ for two games. Crapcom has the money to get a licensing rights to the marvel fighting games or even snk vs Capcom they did the cheap and easy way out like always.

I'm on the fence on this one, considering a majority of the games will be available on capcom arcade 2 with the exception of red earth. Considering, that they're really isn't anything new, the game should have sold for 29.99 instead.

Was excited for a second, then realised they are just re-releasing the same old games again… Ive played some of these on playstation recently and its just so outdated. When they decide to actually remaster these games to remove the massive borders and update the pixel art (and perhaps include all the DS characters in one definitive game, instead of spread over 3 or more), then it will be an instant buy.

Sega Saturn version is still the best for Vampire Savior. It has all 18 characters (and an English version unlockable in game). Capcom should be including all content with their new releases of old properties, especially since they're charging so much for what you can play for free already with not so much effort and a home computer. The Street Fighter Alpha re-release was lame in this regard... it didn't have all the characters and content of the console or handheld versions!
