Colin I always teach others that if they slip up or just want to take a random meal off of carnivore to not worry about the ice cream they ate or any other carbs etc.... just get back up on the horse the next day with carnivore and move forward.

Based off my research one of the differences between cheese and milk is the whey protein is mostly removed in the liquid removed from the cheese. I could only figure that might be the reason why my IGG test for milk showed up positive and cheese was negative. No igg response with cheese, so I figure I'm allergic to whey maybe . Thanks for making this video , I don't know to many people that know as much as I do about ancestral eating. It's very nice to have found your channel. I can actually point people to your videos so they can learn when they're ready.

That is interesting. It could be related to the lactose. Lots in milk, little in cheese. Ty for the comment

Hey Colin. I use the carnivore diet to continue to stay shredded. I use half and half in my coffee with stevia every day. No problems whatsoever. Half and half of course is allowed on the carnivore diet... and I love the 0 carb stevia as well!

Cultured/fermented butter is fine for almost everyone. Sour butter has no lactose plus the protien is altered by the bacteria through fermentation.
@grimrose999
@grimrose999 4 года назад
I know I might be a weird case, but I can't do fermented foods/any aged foods due to histamine intolerance. I also can't do even ghee which has about 99 percent of the milk solids removed. I haven't tried fermented butter, but I would assume I would still be intolerant to it.
@kineticstarz347
@kineticstarz347 4 года назад
@@grimrose999 damn that sounds harsh , i would maybe try making your own butter with a churner from fresh raw grass fed milk if you think u can handle small amounts of lactose/casein. if you cant handle the allergens then try getting your hands on some high quality fresh suet from a butcher and consume it raw (as i do) or render large amounts of it into tallow and store in the fridge to reduce the histamine accumulation. you are probably even sensitive to ghee cause it sits on the shelf for months and goes oily and rancid through the hotter seasons.

Butter is pasteurized; it stays sweet for a few months. Cream bought from farmer's market usually turns into sour cream after one or two days. They don't sell nearly enough of the premium product. It can still be used, but is not worth the double price. According to the nutrition breakdown of our industrial 35% cream, it has nearly the same amount of lactose, about 4g, which makes sense since it is dissolved in the 60% water. They would somehow have to industrially reconstitute butterfat into water to get it purer. I eat small amounts of milk and quite a lot of butter.

For the last 2.5 years of keto, I was eating a lot of mozza and cheddar (with no carbs). When I decided to go carnivore for awhile, I cut out all cheese and just have grass fed butter. I can't say for sure that I am losing weight because I cut out my cheese (and nuts and seeds), but I have been dropping pounds and leaning out. I still have coconut oil and stevia on a daily basis so I can't put the blame on those things. I will start adding cheese back in but sparingly in a couple of weeks. Thankfully I don't have allergy or intolerance issues with it (or any food for that matter).

I love raw milk. I have a mast cell disorder and it has made my life absolute HELL. Raw milk from super clean grass fed jersey cows (not vaccinated) has been my life saver. It is the one thing I can have that does not cause me any trouble. But it has to be pretty fresh within the first week after being bottled; if it gets old it makes my nose run a little & stirs up some other symptoms. Many cultures have used raw milk & high quality cheese as a major part of their diet and have traditionally been very healthy. And you can get raw milk in the states. It is legal in some states if you get it at the farm and in some states you can buy it in a store (Connecticut). I think some of the info in this is not accurate for everyone. I healed my Lyme disease by eating meat and drinking a ton of raw milk (no drugs at all). There are many people who have used the raw milk cure with amazing success. I think your individual body and genetics and quality of the milk plays a huge role in what people can tolerate. My farmer healed her autoimmune disease with raw milk (rheumatoid arthritis). I used to have severe blood sugar issues and raw milk has never affected me negatively in that way. I can drink it all day and feel great with no swings whatsoever but if I eat plant foods I am a total mess. Takeaway... everyone is so different. So I am inclined to agree with you that it truly is a gift for some people.

I am completely carnivore except for one coffee with lots of coconut cream in it once a day. Don't eat the coconut flour or sugar if you have sibo or other gut issues. Also, do not eat the water in the can of coconut cream. Just the cream. I didn't like it at first because it was not the 18% cream I was used to, but after a few days I loved it.

I have a source of A2A2, raw, pastured-raised dairy products. It's several hours away from my home, but when I travel that way to see friends, I do stop in to get a gallon or two of fresh, raw milk and other things. I don't have lactose issues, so that's not a concern of mine. If I can separate the cream out, I do, but usually, I'll just make yogurt.

We have access to raw cow's milk and cream as well as raw goat's milk in Utah. So, raw milk is not illegal throughout the country. The decision to allow the sale of raw milk is determined by the state governments (most of which have made it illegal for their states unfortunately).

Being someone who has a rare autoimmune disease and creates excessive mucus I have found that I need to stay away from gary. Is avocado oil a good alternative? Or what about coconut oil? And even though I don't exactly have an allergic reaction to dairy would you say someone with lung mucus built up should probably stay away from ghee?

I make my own butter from heavy cream and my kids drink the butter milk... It doesn't last aslong as buying shop butter but you can taste the difference. If I make big batches I just freeze it. Butter milk taste much nicer that milk from the carton. It's also cheaper getting milk and butter this way. Out of a litre of butter you get about 500mls of milk and about 500g of butter. Also I make ice cream with it, just whip 1ltrof it (it's for the kids so) I add half a can of condensed milk (you could use your fake sugar) and powdered chocolate then freeze. It's not healthy (kids one) but maybe something to experiment with if you use cream and butter. anyway.

@ColinStuckert
@ColinStuckert 4 года назад
I very much prefer cold brew, straight black. But if not, try blending up some grass-fed butter and dash of MCT. That's my fav non-cream creamer option. Then you could also do a bit of coconut milk and test that..hard to get flavor right though. Also, if you can find raw cream or raw milk, i say go for it. Just not the pasteurized crap
@joebobmarley2854
@joebobmarley2854 4 года назад
Coconut cream without the milk if you can find it is the best alternative for coffee. There is one in the can that's coconut milk and the cream is separated on the top, I just pour out the liquid and use the cream from that. But grass fed butter is certainly the next best alternative besides cream.

OK raw milk illegal here in South Africa Plus HOW do I trust it in any case? BUT I gre lw up on fully jersey cream which we ate in a bowl. SOured Milk thick and sour. (so I make a cocktail of 50 ml double cream, 50 ml double cream and 50 ml Maas (Fuller cream sour milk) and I drink that 2 X a day and then my steak at night. But it's pasteurised. I'm on carnivore for RA aand now everyone is anti dairy it would seem. we were never fat, even on that very fatty dairy. We are quite skinny... so what now? I could live off my milk cocktail. But the carnivore doctors seem very anti??

Good video but I never had problems with pasteurization and I'm positive it does not destroys a lot except potentially harmful bacteria. It is all about safety and for that it was invented. As it is normal to cook meat (even if you can eat raw). Btw, lost 18 kg in half year on vegetarian keto with a lot of cheese without any problems, all my inflammation markers went down, removed NAFLD, GERD, ... I admit all went even better on carnivore but I have good opinion on cheese, cow or other. I'm still very sensitive to lactose, but there are so many cheesed with 0 carbs.
@j7ndominica051
@j7ndominica051 3 года назад
People mix up pasteurization and homogenization or reconstitution of separated or dried protein/fat into liquid. Pasteurization is simply heating to 70-ish degrees. Even if we cook a grain porridge with milk for the shortest amount of time, it will reach 100 degrees. Or heat a pan sauce with cream or scrambled eggs on a meat diet. But industrially, in order to cool the milk down quickly, they spray it through nozzles to also homogenize it reducing the fat particles, which apparently affects their digestion.
