About a month ago I thought I was doing strict keto only to realize I was doing carnivore. It's the best decision I've ever made in my life. The food control you get eating eating this way is like nothing I've ever experienced in my life. At first I thought I would go back to some carbs, but now it's like if it ain't broke don't fix it, lol. I think I found my forever way of eating.
I converted from HFLC keto to carnivore and never looked back. I still had digestive, skin, and cognitive issues that I couldn't kick being on keto. Carnivore addressed all of this
Before I got into carnivore, last year, I had a coworker convince me to kick the sugar... I didn't completely avoid it but when i noticed i had overwhelming cravings, i was fill that craving and i would fight it the next week. I started last year at 185lbs and ended the last 3 months of the year plateauing at 160ish. A month in the carnivore, i'm building muscle and i'm breaking my wall. I'm at 152 now and i'm done looking at the scale. i'm seeing definition where i havent seen in years. These three things have helped me!
Hi J Rock and Colin, I just found Colin today (thank you Colin!!). I tried the keto diet for about 7 mths or so and it worked, all was good, did the IF and I lost weight. Then I caved into cravings. It was downhill from there. Kind of like a smoker, all it takes is one cig and you are right back where you were. So I gained all the weight back and then some. I then attempted the carnivore diet. It was really hard to fight the sugar/carb cravings but what got me, was only eating the meat, I could not cook it good enough to handle the taste every day. I was not buying expensive meats either and especially hamburger meat, omg, I could not cook hamburger meat to taste good for the life of me. Again, I failed and now I am so done with all the diets and the weight and am ready to do this but I don't want to fail. If both of you could respond, that would be great. My question is, if I go cold turkey, empty all out of my house that is not carnivore and buy only the best meat and cook it as Colin has taught, will I have a better chance of victory? What helped you get over the sugar/carb cravings? It may be a bit different for me for I am a 60 year old female and I just want my energy back. Any words of wisdom? thank you so very much for your time.
@@denisekearns9199 Sorry this could be late but I first did water fasting only for a month and after that if I put anything in my mouth with sugar I throw up and my mouth tastes bad by which it helped I cook for my kids cake etc and I don't miss to bit at all. Soon after water fasting I went to IF and OMAD which is carnivore diet I am on week 2 but feeling better and all pains gone plus full of energy kids are shocked. I hope I will heal my hormone imbalances issues soon so as I can see good weight loss
Very good video. I’d say the best oils for cooking are animal fats, especially for cooking at high temperatures: Tallow Suet Duck fat Goose fat Pork lard Medium Heat Ghee Coconut oil or MCT oil (fruit oils) Low heat: Butter Avocado oil (fruit oil)
Day 38 for me tomorrow. The only carbs I'm taking in are from eggs and some pork rinds. Still have coconut oil and MCT oil and stevia but no cheese or dairy (except grass fed butter). I have lost 7lbs (and this was from being stalled on keto for over 14 months). I miss variety but I'm feeling good and satiated. Will probably stretch it to over 2 months and then start adding keto carbs back in
Great video! This is the most concise and actionable beginners guide to carnivory I have seen, and I've been following Frank Tufano for months already.
Your videos are the exact way and how I've had success with this diet it is like you are in my head with the knowledge I've found in my research but cannot always find the correct ways to direct people into this diet and this video is a great tool thank you
Cooking your own meals. Some of his BEST advice. You know what ingredients are truly involved. Cooking is enjoyable It is a HUGE cost savings, which helps on a meat based eating plan.
Thank you for your very informative videos! Loving your channel! My husband and I are starting the Carnivore diet today. We are excited to get healthy and feel better.❤️
Hi, I've been following a strict Carnivore Diet and would like to recommend if anybody starting the Carnivore Diet has any severe autoimmune conditions and they still aren't getting better on a carnivore diet, then certain animal based foods might be an issue. Eggs, Dairy, Pork, Chicken, Shellfish, and aged/processed meats are super inflammatory for these conditions. Offal or rendered fats may be a problem due to high histamine content. If you are unsure, try sticking to only Beef/Lamb steaks and avoid ground meat.
@@ColinStuckert It's weird how food intolerances work. Some people are allergic to egg whites but can consume egg yolks with no problem, or vice versa. For some people, grain/corn fed vs grass fed makes a huge difference. I am 100% intolerant to dairy, even ghee(with almost all of the milk solids removed) I used to think I was 100% intolerant to chicken and pork but I recently found I can tolerate small amounts of pasture raised chicken without a reaction.
One week in. Really noticing the reduced bloating - especially as my sugar intake has dropped. Not hungry at all. Was a little worried that I haven’t needed to poop but I guess that I am using all the nutrients and not generating any waste. Looking forward to the next 3 weeks (committed to a 4 week trial).
Well my go-to is a ribeye steak ;) - I find a lot of the fear mongering around breaking a fast to be just that. Of course, if you are doing carnivore, you are already doing very low carb, so if I had to say, dont break a fast with a ton of carbs. That's about all people need for the most part.
@@ColinStuckert thank you for that!!!! I was told bone broth for half as many days as you’ve been fasting. But I really don’t want to do that. I am on day 10 of a fast I have 20 more days to go. At the end of those 20 days I want to tomahawk steak!!!
I went 60 days eating just ground beef and butter and water. I felt great. I don’t think your body can tell the difference between burger and ribeye. Beef is beef
Grocery store sausages with added carbs are usually really low quality. The carbs aren't the issue, processed meats (usually pork) tend to use really bad feedlot meat. I would be very careful with sausages and other processed meats like bacon.
Heck no. Don't get dogmatic about carbs. I still do dairy, and there are times to even add some more carbs in your diet for metabolic advantages. Remember, our ancestors lived in a constantly changing environment with seasons and food availability that changed all the time.
Hello I'm wondering if you've ever heard of anyone being allergic to beef? I seem to have autoimmune issues and histamine intolerance and it's quite severe and i have what seems like an allergic reaction to beef.
@@ColinStuckert cool... I'll check this out. My other concern/interest is how this diet can be sustainable on mass considering the majority of people are on minimum wage jobs. Can the carnivore diet be successful on a budget?
How much grass fed beef liver and heart should I eat daily in Carnivore? I am hearing mixed messages about vitamin/mineral toxicity. It frankly too confusing when it comes to organ meats.
you don't need to obsesses over that at all. Eat some when you feel like it. When it comes to liver, a good rule of thumb is twice a week. Heart is more like muscle meat, so there aren't really any requirements to eat it. You could do just fine without it.
Coconut oil is a great high heat oil to cook with. Make sure it is filtered, so you don't add the coconut taste to your food. It is a saturated fat as well! I put unfiltered coconut oil in my coffee, to add a fat to it and make it bulletproof.
avocado is a fruit oil, like palm. And it's awesome. Macadamia nut oil is one of the only nut oils, baed on its high monounsaturated content, that I like a swell. Lard is good in some instances, but medium heat. tallow is better, but more for med heat cooking as well
The Ancestral Mind by Colin Stuckert okay interesting, good tip re. The cooking process. I was thinking the high iron in red meat may increase ferritin in the body? I’m no doctor though
