Here are Car Models with Resale Value consideration in India. Know Cars where resale can be a challenging concern in near future for car buyers in India
VW Skoda are not much worried about domestic sell. They are getting enough from exporting from India. Also Skoda and VW cars are purchased for driving pleasure and not resale value. I own 2012 polo abhi mast Chal rahi hein
@@nirushs8382 Now a days Skoda and VW offer service packs which makes them service vise economical. I own VW polo from last 11 years and such scheme was not available that time . This was first generation and fully German made. Still I kept service cost under control by customization based on actual need and not by service center quote . VW and Skoda are in different league and one should buy it only if wanted to part of it. These cars gives immense pleasure of driving. Others from my family too now choosen for VW and Skoda.
Starting 2010 I have purchased 5 cars and all VW.....Polo twice, Ameo Once, Vento Once, Taigun Once.....These cars are not for those who consider cement while building house but not the car which they use daily.
@@nirushs8382bhai pehle tha . 2021 se inki saari gadi India 2.0 model pe kam kar rahi hai . Matlab 90% spares India made hain . Saal ka maint compact slsuv taigun 1.0 ka 6000 tak atta hai bahut kam hai .
An informative video. But it all depends on the purpose of purchase of vehicle. Still there are many buyers who keep the vehicle for long term. It is my belief that one shouldn't reject the car only considering its resale value. The comfort, ride & build quality, safety can compensate lower resale value.
Here's the problem with the video... Volkswagen, skoda, honda makes good profit for each cars and even citroen India CEO said numbers don't matter and what we want is profit in each product to sustain which we are doing successfully...
I drive Isuzu Vcross😂. Least bothered about their market share , resale value, Diesel, etc.. I don't think I would ever sell it. It's so much fun to drive.
It's good and ideal actually coz cars are meant to be kept for 10+ years generally. We don't keep that's different things but most cars are mean to last more than 10 years if kept nicely and unless major fault occurs. And after 10+ years one cant expect good resale in any car I suppose. Never care about others opinion only look for your drive experience
What about MG astor? At what price we can consider for buying a 2022 top model car. Or Also, please suggest at what price we can consider Tata Harrier disel 2022 model.
Additional point : The resale may be lower for sedan compared to SUV, but you have to cough up about 3-4% upfront. Not only this the mileage will be higher in sedan compared to the SUV.
If you are inclined towards Sedan, there will be someone inclined towards buying second hand Sedan as well! So no worries. Except EVs, resale will not depend on segment much!
Although currently Sedans don't have market share, but Sedans will have market in India.. it will definitely bounce back. In my opinion people in India (mostly first time buyers) currently just wants to buy a car by appearance and SUVs seems to appeal them a lot. However, after several years, they will understand what car really means. They will start thinking about Driving dynamics, handling, performance, space etc. A few portion of people are slowly realising that these SUVs are nothing but jacked up Hatch backs. When people start thinking about a car beyond just road presence and appearance, I'm sure they will start considering sedans as they are more suited in these aspects. I've always been a Sedan lover and proud owner (Honda City 5th Gen. Earlier we had Maruti Suzuki Esteem). I never liked these pseudo SUVs. And ofcourse Sedans are more attractive in terms of looks, driving dynamics and performance. ❤
Somehow I feel the same. That it is only hype. Marketing hype! RU-vid hype! People are falling for these ballooned hatchbacks. Real SUVs mean it’s a 4X4 where FWD cars are sold as SUVs, pseudo suv! The sedans might have lost their market share however it’s not completely forgotten! It will come back. Hatchbacks will never die!
I booked a Toyota Hyryder v variant on 1st October 22. I was promised to deliver the car on April 23, But till now I don't get the car. The price is going too high day to day, now it's 20L (ex showroom). What should I do?
Owning black Mitsubishi Pajero Sport MT 4X4 2016, crossed 1.5lac kms. Still running as new! First enjoy every paisa of your money invested in your car you dreamt of owning one. Worrying about resale before purchase is stupidity! One sells, other buys - that's a cycle!
Presently VW-Skoda Cars are offered with Free Maintenance for 4 Years. Inspite of 95% localisation they are expensive when compared to the price they offered T-Roc TBU with High Import Duty. After 5 years owners might experience their Realistic Pricing of Spares & Labour Charges which would be expensive than competition for sure. Most of the European Cars are high in maintainance in India. They are trying hard to survive because of poor Sales Nos. against established Maruti, Hyundai, Tata & Mahindra.
Really not sure if this is a myth or reality. I have a VW and my average annual service cost is about 10-11k. And I have friends who drive Hyundai, and their service costs are same as mine. I have no clue about maruti.
Cost comes with quality vice versa, Suzuki is cheaper and so as quality, if we think about cost, life will not come again check Maruti Suzuki car accidents in you tube, you will never buy Maruthi or any Japan / korea car makers
@@srikanthparidala3310 It all depends on the speed & Impact at the time of accident. If on the highway with speed exceeding 80 kmsph than the equation of 5 Star Safety Rating in Crash test will change for sure. Maruti & Hyundai are quite good in City Traffic where average speed is less than 15-20 kmsph maximum & in chaotic driving conditions the NA 4-Cylinder Engines are better than TSI. Because engine Turbo Kicks in only after 18 - 2000 rpm hence it hardly makes a difference in City traffic. In fact TSI or TC engines might not offer good efficiency when compared to 4 Cylinder NA Petrol Engine. If the Car is used for everyday commuting in City conditions I might not spend ₹2 Lacs extra for TSI or TC for sure.
In my opinion 50% of Indian car buyers give more weightage to low cost of ownership and resale value more than the driving dynamics of any car. This is the reason why Maruti continues to lead the market even after 35 years of it's operation though it's market share has come down. Used car markets in India will always have buyers as people will continue to upgrade to cars from 2 wheelers and not all of them will have the means to buy a brand new car. Unless the government comes down very heavily and restricts the life span of vehicles with compulsory scrapping after some years of registration this market will always be there and even vehicles of companies that have folded up in the recent past will continue to sell albeit at a lower cost compared to others. Take a look at the display of any used car dealer and you will definitely find some models which were discontinued or from companies that folded up and left India. People can expect to resell their car of any make but not at 50% of the price they paid when they bought it new.
Because we are not financially that much sound like western people. Future generations will suffer even more worst because of ever increasing population and competition to survive. Thats why don’t waste your hard earned money on fuel and expensive cars , instead save it for your future generations
Slavia, Virtus and Verna are quite lengthy. Compact sedans like Dzire, Amaze and the now discontinued Ford Aspire make more sense in view of practicality, parking space at homes and outside. Unfortunately, car companies are just thrusting their SUVs in market. There is no choice left for compact sedans for people.
I have Ford Aspire Diesel running since 6 years. My avg driving approx 1000 kms/m, it is absolute pleasure to drive aspire diesel. Super pick up, good mileage and low maintenance cost. Unfortunately I have to sell the car due to Govt restrictions on diesel cars in NCR region, but unable to select any car yet which match my aspire driving experience. Still searching :)
I am planning to buy a second hand Tata safari 2015 storme for 5lakh 76k running on record and service records available should I go for it please reply
Please do not create resale panic.
Bilkul sahi baat bhaisaab. I have a M-800 (5G) since 2001 and it's still going strong. Waise mera dusra car bhi hai jo hai Honda Mob (2015). I certainly have no intension to sell my both cars even if they are not allowed to run on Road due to Nitin Gadkari's Scrap Policy. They'll be in my Garage if required.
What's wrong with Trend? Something is not looking stable or clear, either in govt. policy or consumer choices. Both are not predictable thus goods companies have no choice to quit. Sad
Sedans owners need not worry about the stats. They are a different breed. We buy sedans for comfort and drive experience. For bad roads there are alternatives like the mighty spresso SUV 😁 aedans get lots of slack for ground clearance but it doesnt mean 1 car for all terrains. SUV sales are so high because everyone still riding high on the SUV wave. Show of social status is the reason for SUV wave. Most SUV are not even worthy of the tag
Sedan owners should know that in USA sedans market share is around 20%. Roads are not bad there, still SUVs outsell sedans. There must be something good in SUVs. Think...
in Future (now started) you can convert your old car to electric car, then sedan has high probability to have more battery packs in boot, because of that more mileage can be achieved
If you love your car and if its like a family member then the resale Value doesn't mean anything, moreover nothing can replace the class and status of a Sedan
Consider and test drive XUV 300 Diesel Manual. Super driving experience than petrol. Try to drive in a high way its fun to drive. Mileage average 12 to 16km. W6 + addition accessories cost almost same as petrol W8. Drive atleast 1.5L km. XUV 300 petrol comes with 3 cylinder engine and we don't know the condition 3 cylinder engine after 50k kms driven.
among hatchbacks and sub 4m sedans, I still feel they have good resale value if you're buying from Maruti Suzuki. Also, I feel some of these car manufacturers are introducing updates way too late. I currently have a Tata Marina Diesel that is well maintained and running but age has caught up with the car. I personally am a fan of Renault because of the Duster and I had wanted to buy the Triber but the Triber has been crying out for the engine update that hasn't happened till now.
Resale value of the vehicles depends on many factors including their maintenance cost, after market parts availability, fuel consumption, reliability. Sedans or SUVs are choices of people. If we just take as an example Polo, Swift, H-city has better resale value than Xuv500, Duster, Eco sports etc. People made choice of buying the so called SUV's because of the road conditions, If we have proper roads in place Sedans are ultimately the best driving experience with comfort.
Sir I am glad that you have really come out bold and speak the truth , our govts is certainly make diesel cars i.e. even 2021 models , I personally owned , as a villian 100% true. Even OEMs who are selling let it likes " Hyundai" there sales guy " areh sir aj kal diesel kon leta hai wo bhi delhi mai - he said sir gaadi book hogi apke liye ayegi sirf , ap gaadi ko dekh nahi sakte .....duh !! Is it a crime that you are asking for diesel car ?? These days yes it is , because wrong campaining , lie about being more polluted to environment even after BS6 Phase 2 RDE . Let me ask the govt - where u dispose EV batteries ?? It is the earth surface only , it is even more harmfull than gasolines , it contains deadly elements like lithium alloys etc In our country the whole auto sector is at a serious pressure by NGT and govts who are passing stupid laws and guidelines.
Biggest mistake of Renault and NIssan was to go with 1000 cc engine. 1200 engine would have got them more buyers. Even with a turbo engine on some models, crawling performance (bumper to bumper traffic) is poor. It only pick up after 1600 rpm
I agree, Renault and Nissan's decision to go with a 1000 cc engine instead of a 1200 cc engine seems to have been a mistake. The smaller engine size affects crawling performance in bumper-to-bumper traffic, with noticeable pickup only after 1600 rpm. A slightly larger engine could have attracted more buyers and provided a better driving experience. Hopefully, they take this feedback into account for future models.
There is also a possibility that Sedans may comeback after 4-5 years who knows what future has in store. Right now roads are flooded with Heel wali Hatchbacks aka Compact SUVs. Soon people will get bored with them. Also in EVs, range is very important and a good aerodynamic Sedan has the best chance to extract maximum range from battery.
@terrybatman Sedans were more popular than SUVs before 2012. It was the launch of Duster in 2012, followed by Ecosport and Brezza. That made SUVs popular. And that trend continued to gain more momentum. While roads are getting better every year. If it was roads that were forcing people to go for SUVs, the situation would have been completely opposite, SUVs popular initially and Sedans getting popular every year as roads got better. Also this SUV trend is universal not just limited to India.
Well, a car is not something which one can buy like grocery. There are limited people and money, of course units of cars sold will depend on how many people don't own a car.
@@vinitjain481bhai konsi time main jee rha hai tu Brezza 4 star already scored kar chukki hai and in next facelift i am damn sure they are coming with High Strength steel (HSS) which if you know what it is and i am damn sure you dont own any car brother 99% people who hates maruti sorry to say unki jindgi khud splendor ya activa par chal rhi hoti h
Took a big risk and bought the new Verna. Whether it was a better choice than the City/Slavia/Virtus is a difficult topic. But I don't think anyone who has driven a sedan - and someone who isn't bothered about the "trend"/"bhir bhaad" - would want to drive anything else! Sheer driving pleasure.
Sir, What is your opinion about the future of VW and Skoda Car company because I am intending to buy a sedan because of built quality. Secondly, what is the future of diesel cars in India as it has been recommended to government to ban diesel Car's from 2027 onwards and therefore,is it worth buying a diesel Car. Thirdly, if VW and Skoda leave the country then what is the option for those Indians who prefer 5 star GNCAP rated Cars?
I am in similar confusion, Mr Jhala. So, after much deliberation, have decided to go for Honda City (I already own a 2005 model City, but need a new one since it's done it's 15 years. Let me also add here that I never had to take the City (not even once) to any workshop, other than the normal stuff that wud happen to any car during it's running.
@@soniajaitly9439congrats to you for your virtus. When you purchased? How many kms on odo now? How's the service cost you are getting? Plz give some idea. Thnxji
