Northern California coastal foraging for sea urchins / uni gold! Again, inspired by Outdoor Chef Life, we venture out to Mendocino this time during peak like tide (-1.2 ft) and catch purple sea urchins in tide pools. Just like last time, we brought our California fishing license, a few hands tools, a bucket, and some gloves in case the uni poked us while picking them out. We ended up catching a bucket full and cracked them all open with friends. With the uni, we made uni sushi and even ate them with Cheez-Its when we didn't have rice.
