Snake Pit U.S.A. Founder/Head Coach, Joel Bane demonstrates a Salto (this one in particular known in amateur wrestling as a Japanese Whizzer) using CACC grips here to trap the shoulder from beginning to end, finishing with a simple but effective Paper Cutter. NOTE: Be sure to rotate the elbow circular towards their head after cutting down to seal it off the paper cutter and stay off your knees. Coach Bane is just being nice for demonstration purposes.

Man, I roll at a BJJ gym, I like it, but I would rather catch anyday! I’m so sick of belts, and dead “masters” on the wall that you are suppose to bow to, not being disrespectful, I just admire boxing and wrestling for its skill and no BS involved, wish you guys were in my Canadian area.

Question 1, if you perform this move but he doesn't go over what can you do Question 2 could this hurt the arm

@@somebodyperson1741 1.) Bail and take Top Referee. 2.) Of course it could, but not likely if the Uke has paid proper attention during class before drilling and is giving the proper reaction to the Tori to ensure a realistic scenario. 👍🏻

How do you defend the high crouch to a single? I've never done catch wrestling so if shooting legs is against the rules forgive me..

Rick Herrera Hi Rick, all takedowns are legal in Catch, and yes you can absolutely shoot. So... there are several versions of a High Crotch to a single leg, so I would need to know which one you’re most concerned with. @@SnakePitUSA hey thanks for the reply and video. I wrestled high school and some college (Palomar). My best take downs were a single and duck under. In the wizard throw example there is a underhook. It looks like from that position a high crouch to a single (or step around to the back) would be hard to defend against. Just in this scenario. I just wanted to get your thoughts on defense. Wrist control? I do love the locks and submissions that you use. Keep the videos coming...
