I have a DSL40C and a Les Paul. I've been wanting to swap the stock speaker out, and I think you just sold me a G12M-65. Fantastic demo, my dude!

Celestion was the first company to place a neo design at the top of the food chain of great guitar speakers. I play through one, it’s amazing.

Did anyone try to combine these two speakers in a 2x12? Best of both worlds perhaps and still very lightweight?

Excellent video and playing Jimmy! This vid is why I chose the Neo Creamback 12 for my new Zilla (Super Fatboy) 2x12 cab. I could have chosen a number of other Celestion speakers but this is the sound that I want. V30 is just so brittle and/or harsh sounding to my ears. I have a 1x12 with an G12M65 Creamback and I love it but I do hear in this vid that the Neo is a tad brighter and tighter. I think I'll like that... plus as a result of the Neo weighing about 1/2 of what the other speakers weigh , my cab will be about 10 lbs lighter. ..Great work Jimmy!

Geez. The Neo has a certain presence that I kinda like, and a certain pokey dynamic thats nice. Either one is quite good. I"m looking for a single British speaker for an open back that will work with 60, 70"s and 80" marshally tones. Either one of these seems like it would do,. Thank you, good demo.

Creamback M65 for me. It's fuller and covers more frequencies imo
@MrTee-qt1qo

Unbelievable tone. Would you say the difference in negligible? Or did the Creamback 65 have slightly more grit and body? Also, those pickups sound great as well. Are they just the factory Gibsons? Have a good one.
@JimmyBurkard
@JimmyBurkard 6 лет назад
Mr. Tee Thanks, I hear more of a difference in the attack of the notes. The M65 is more stiff while the Neo compresses a bit.
@adamwatson6916
@adamwatson6916 6 лет назад
Mr. Tee I think they are electric city rd 59 paf clones no gibson pickups sound as good as thoose . electric city make some of the best paf clones on the planet . the electric city jimmy page royal Albert hall pickups are the best pafe pickups I have heard and are some off the best pickups period. I think electric city prices are a fair bit lower then gibson . I know some one who has the rd 59 set and says they are better then a couple of real paf sets who used to own .

Nice Playing, as well as comparison demo. That being said. I don't care about Neodymium being lighter in weight. They are much tighter in sound, and do not have a sloppy flabby distortion. This is the conclusion I've found after a lot research listening to them in all these comparison videos. Have you ever heard of a Neodymium pickup? I have, and I feel the Entwistle HDN (High Definition) rules in the pickup world. The kicker is. They run less than $30 Bones each. That being known. I think I'll try the Neo creamback Paired with a G12 Vintage Century Neo in a 2X12 Cab just to see if a less than 40lb Cab can fill a room with tight loud distortion. Thanks for the video, and keep Slashing them strings.

Iv been trying to find a speaker that isn’t too peircing with the high end fizzy but still cuts through off axis and stays present. I’m a bit confused w the neo n 65. The neo Iv heard sounds warmer than the 65 but also seems to have higher frequencies than the 65 at the same time . Would you say one has less fizz than the other and is one more harsh per say than the other? I have v types in a cab and they are kinda warm but the high end fizz is unpleasant and tinny sounding. So I’m considering a creamback. Thing is the v type is still clear off axis but anyone in front of the amp will get tortured. Either speaker more dynamic and responsive?

Hey Jimmy! I don't know if you've ever played through a Blackstar amp, but I have the HT Club 40, which I hear is very comparable to the DSL40C, and I'm wanting to upgrade my speaker from the seventy 80 to either the Neo Creamback, or the Vintage 30. I'm wanting a tone anywhere from SRV to Gary Moore. Just from your experience and taste, which speaker would get me more in that ballpark? Thanks!
@JimmyBurkard
@JimmyBurkard 7 лет назад
Hi Kody, I've played the Blackstar 50 watt head but not the HT Club 40. I'd go for the Neo Creamback for the musical styles you mentioned. Cheers!

Strewth mate, I enjoyed that . Any thoughts on the Neo vs the G12H 75 Cream? I've got a Zilla 1x12 with the H75 and I'm feeling like it misses a bit of body in the mids, but the M65 seems to be a bit dull compared with a 25W Greenback? THe Neo souds excellent here.
@JimmyBurkard
@JimmyBurkard 6 лет назад
Andi Picker Thanks Andi, I haven’t tried the H75 Creamback so I can’t comment on that. The Neo is based off the M65 Creamback so it should have the mids you’re looking for.

Hey Jimmy, thanks for taking the time to reply; the Hs are a fantastic alternative to Vs for heavy distortion, but perhaps lack a bit of the grind that Ms have for more classic rock tones. Great visuals and audio on your vids by the way - and lovely playing. Subscribed.

Hey Jimmy, just to bring this up to date - I've loaded Neos into my 1x12 and 2x12 cabs and they really do work very well. I have compared with my old Blackback Greenbacks and the Neos stand-up incredibly well, possibly even a little better in the upper mids which have lots of bite but are less scratchy than the old ones. They definitely sound closer to my M Magnet Greens than the M65 Creambacks do (and the H75 Creambacks are closer to my old H30s than the newer Anniversary H30s are by the way). Take care and thanks again. Andi

Hey Jimmy, thanks for the demo . quick question I see demos for the vintage. 30, NEO cream, and a few others. Lots of options. I have the dsl40 and would like to swap speaker. Nut shell I do covers from old Aerosmith, to zep, van,idol to Bryan Adams -80s. So using that one amp trying to achieve multiple rock to mellow which overall would you put in your dsl40. Thanks for reading When needed

S G Hi S G, I’d go with the Neo Cream. It’s been great for me and I play the same stuff as you. It shaved off a little weight, too. Keep rockin’!
