Thank you for reaching out to your fans and letting us know the direction the channel will be taking. I love your approach to fantasy lore, so I'm very excited to see what's coming!
Well Karl you know I support you on every direction and Decision you make. Indeed content of any kind that is fantasy is really very interesting for me also personally. It's nice to hear from you again. So just take your time. And I'll see you on another adventure
Good luck with your game. That stuff takes time if you wanna get a good well rounded game. Especially if you want a story. Been watching since autumn 2017. Keep up the good work.
Much Love for the return of your voice! Your narration, tone of voice and calm nature is the reason I subscribed. I think widening the content will be interesting indeed.
Karl, it is so nice to hear your voice again. I hope everything is going well with your game venture. To be honest, I am not interested in videos of games or fantasies other than Tolkien's. I will always stay subscribed to your channel and watch all you new Tolkien stuff. I will also go back and watch all your older videos, which I missed. God bless you with success in your future.
Good luck on your new projects! Excited to see your videos on new subjects, I know mostly about LOTR so I look forward to learning more and maybe getting to the source material of other stories!
It’s really nice hearing your voice again! I can’t add much more to what people already said here in the comments but I respect what you’re doing and your decisions. As a fantasy fan myself, I’m sure I can find something in your new content that I will be interested in learning about! Any content on this channel is appreciated as long as the content content comes from you because you’re doing a great job! Thank you for all you did and what may come in the future!
Nice to hear from you again. I’m looking forward to see what comes down the road from your channel! Love your content! Wish you all of luck on the game development, and all future videos - and looking forward to seeing the new video tomorrow :)
THANK YOU for years of fantasy & joy you have given to Lotr fans! You rock. You are more then welcome to give your gifts of ”fantasy" lore to other peoples aswell. We are proud to have had you all to ourselves for this long, but yes there is *cough*blasphemy *cough* other great lore & fantasy out there. ;) I will love seeing what future fantasy & FolkLore youll bring to us. Thank you. From all our fantasy seeking hearts, Thank you.
Good luck on your new adventures! Can you consider publishing some Greco-Roman myths? I think doing some comparative mythology would be fantastic! Between ancient fantasies like them or even Nordic myths and works of Tolkien.
I am really happy to hear from you again. And every stuff you are going to upload I will watch it. But I can't deny that I am kind of sad because of the fact that we will hear less things about lotr. Anyway I am happy you're back and found a new way of creativity. I am looking forward to see it. Greetings from Germany!
I think you should “Follow your Bliss”. That is a Joseph Campbell quote. He did a TV show that showed art from many World mythologies and found many similar themes. Your videos remind me that mythology and fantasy can have a familiar basis. Few authors give us the detail that Tolkien left and many left little more than a new color book. For your game pick a time of transition when the old ways were being rewritten with only fragments remaining. Bon Chance!
With all due respect to the voice actor you hired for narration, I am glad to hear YOUR voice again. It was your passion for these subjects that transpired in your voice and made me subscribe, so when this well curated voice stepped in, something shifted in the energy of your content. I hope you fully enjoy creating your game, and it would be awesome if (when possible) you would share lore from your collective creation. I am here for the long run, because I appreciate you and the depths and lengths to which you go with that passion . Big hugs and thank you, always, for creating amazing content! [Ricardo]
I love fantasy of all kinds and looking forward to see what you bring up. I would recommend the books called The Dwarves by Markus Heitz a great fantasy author. Please share more on your game and thanks as always
Congrats and good luck with your game! I have enjoyed watching your Tolkien videos and really appreciate all the time and effort you have put into making them.
Ngl I miss your narration. The new guy still does a great job but I like hearing different accents. New direction seems cool to me, best of luck on the game- would be interested to hear what it is.
Good luck with the game and I look forward to various content from different settings. It’s your presentation of the material is what drew to the channel and kept me here so I am positive the new varied content will be just as good and detailed. Cheers
Hey Karl, good to hear your voice again! I can totally understand if the muse has fallen silent - there's only so much that you can say on a subject, and when you've told all your stories then it's time to move on. Best of luck with your future endeavours, whatever direction they take you in.
I think that you should probably use a channel look overhaul. I have noticed recently that it is beginning to look a lot like / blend in with some other channels I am seeing - especially your logo, I am sad to say, knowing that you have it on some merchandise. It is understandable to need a channel shift: there's only so much Professor Tolkien left for us to pore over again and again. There are many other fantasies that built on what he did in a remarkable way, like The Wheel of Time as one example - it is very popular right now and the show isn't doing the best job of covering the lore. And that's only one example. Though I do assume your Tolkien content will probably step it up and get a bit more excitement behind it again once Amazon's series comes. If they do it like they're doing Wheel of Time - we may have a problem. :P Not that WoT is bad. Just, fast forwarded in a way that won't be acceptable for a Middle-Earth series. I am curious to find out what is going on with this game you're talking about. What sort of game? Video? Board? Anywhere to get some information or is it too early to talk about? In any case, you still have my support, and it's nice to hear from you, yourself. Take care out there, brother.
I subscribed because of the QUALITY of the content. If the SUBJECT of the content changes, I am certain the quality will not. It simply gives me new subjects to discover👍
Hey Karl, I'm glad you're fine: yes, I'm also one who has been a bit concerned and looked for news every few weeks on RU-vid/Discord. I agree with you that you need to do what you're interested in, and wish you lots of luck. Anyway, I think many of the Tolkien channels are starting to run out of material and repeat each others' topics, so its probably a good time for a change. I won't be with you on that journey though, because the other stuff isn't part of my interest; but I'm sure it will be interesting to many of your viewers and Patreon supporters.
Follow your interests, Karl -- go for it and stay engaged. To be honest, I'm more into LOTR than gaming, but I'll stay subbed to see where the channel goes. Who knows, it could lead to new interests for me.
Your channel had made me want to re-read the Silmarillion and Tom Bombadil's poem. Honestly, if you love fantasy settings and to grasp the deeper symbolic aspects of it, I recommend you one day take a look at Wagner's Ring des Nibelungen, or Parsifal.
I can't wait to see what direction you take. Miss your narration but really excited about all your future vids. The new narrator is one of the best I've ever heard. Easily up there with Attenborough. Hope you narrate the odd video though.
Your LotR videos have been fantastic, but even with the rich lore of Middle Earth, I completely understand you're running out of interesting topics to research and share. I'd love for you to delve into the lore of other fantasy worlds and share what you learn.
Was worried there for a bit. Glad you are doing fine. Different fantasies. I'm all for it. Take your time with the development of your new game. Wish you only the best.
You have my sword any day, just do what do you think is best for you, you have our support!!!!! But return to the LOTR from time to time like a true King!!
Do whatever your heart takes you. If you are asking for suggestions………you could tackle Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time series. The 12,000 pages should keep you occupied until 2090 at least 🤣.
Keep doing ur best, personally I think ppl prefer to see u challenging urself and having the freedom and flexibility to be creative is more entertaining for us
A teaser would be nice. As it stands we just have a lot of so-called leaks about the show that make me think it will not be Tolkien's Middle Earth, but Jeff Bezos'.😞
@@Imperialistic82 I have no doubts they will make good stories. Tauriel and Kili was a very beautifully written tragic love story. Also, I am sure the acting will win Emmy Awards. The issue is that these new stories and characters of Middle Earth will take away from the actual stories and characters of Middle Earth that we know of. This is inevitable in today's diverse world. Fellowship of Fans' leaks have me worrying a lot. Galadriel goes to Numenor? Isildur featured heavily in the FIRST season?! Finrod in Eldamar??? QUEEN Miriel???? Ar-Pharazon is her top advisor??? And Sur Lenny Henry's interview were he says there will be Hobbits in the Shire?????? My point is that LOTRONPRIME will be a very interesting series that will keep a diverse world mesmerized and the Tolkien fans confused, bothered, or irate.😞 We can only hope they will throw us some bones to chew on....
@@Enerdhil I have no problems with a diverse cast. We have to remember, most of the cast is still white. I've been watching series like The Shannara Chronicles, The Witcher and Wheel of Time. The latter has a very diverse casting and it works well. It's not about the skin color of actors, it's about how they act. I think it's something people will get used to. The changes from the leaks is as expected. The second age was not written in details by Tolkien. So a lot has to be made up. If the show can still keep the tone from the movies, then it's on a good way. That's what important for me.
Consider looking into *Shingeki no Kyojin* ( *Attack on Titan* , but literally closer to "Advance of the Giants"). Fantasy in that with a few science fiction exceptions, the technology we see at the start is early 18th Century. Lots to unpack, and what you first see is not necessarily what you get - anyone who dismisses it as a "cartoon" is missing the point that the Japanese create animation for adults that is not for children.
Wow! I had no idea you watched that. My wife introduced me to the series, so I have seen two seasons of it. It is very shocking, interesting, ridiculous, thought-provoking, crazy, entertaining, and just dumb. My wife has read all the books and knows how it all ends. I haven't watched an episode for about 3 years. Have you seen Death Note? That is Japanese Anime at it's quintessential best.
Good job you didn't name the channel anything LotR related eh?!?! Looking forward to the new direction and I know that whatever subject it is on it will be of the very highest standard!
Looking forward to hearing from your new content👍 I know so after long time on 1subject you getting a bit overflowed/fill up with it..Keep carry on with that what makes you happy👍
I would love more than just LOTR content yes please thank you. I love LOTR but I literally stopped watching you because that was ALL you did. Cover what you feel inspired to cover, but as far as suggestions go, consider early Elder Scrolls. Morrowind was innovative in terms of mythology and worldbuilding. Although it could mean potentially drawing in the Skyrim crowd, which I could understand wanting to avoid.
Dragon age Lore is pretty bad IMO, the first game was good, everything else after that is trash, it's pretty much discount DnD. 'Wheel of Time' is also not worth going over either as Amazon ruined the legacy of the series. No one likes A song of Ice and Fire, it's 'The Last Jedi' of Fantasy. I honestly think LOTR is probably your best bet. Anything else is most likely way to niche to build a channel off of.
Cover some Warhammer 40k, who doesn't like to worship a walking machine god? Or laugh at how the emperor is just a taller guy, etc. But focus on that game and paying your bills.
