I wonder if the father realizes that him gloating would actually help damage his son's mental health. A mistake is something that happens once not something that keeps happening. The fact she approached him with the idea of adding this other guy showed she was going to cheat no matter what but she thought with her husband being part of it she was getting approval. Most people on Reddit are like him. They feel entitled to their parents money. They believe their parents are obligated to pay for everything they want. As a parent you have the right to tell your opinion and if your son/daughter is going to take an obvious terrible choice you are not obligated to support them neither financially or emotionally. Let them hit the wall by themselves and assume their consequences. You don't have to pay for their mistakes.
Yup, baby trapping is extremely common. His parent's fears weren't unfounded it's a very high possibility. If my parents adamantly tell me that I'm likely getting trapped, I'd immediately ask for a paternity test. If she refuses to get the test, that could be taken as admission of guilt in my eyes. If she has nothing to hide then she shouldn't have an issue with getting tested. Nina was probably shitting her pants when his parents demanded a pre-nup. For those of you in the back of the class a pre-nup is an agreement on where if the marriage fails, that'll be the end of it and they would immediately get a divorce with not distribution of assets. This means that Nina basically can't touch the OP or his money whenever something happens and she files for divorce. She'll be left with nothing. And if she denied the request to get a prenup they can basically take that as an admittance of guilt that she's a floozy and was likely baby trapping him.
