Thank you !!!! Stuck an 1hr away from home. Had nobody to help me. Got my jack handle out of my toolbox. Hit the tank a couple of times got in the truck and it started right up!!! You are a lifesaver for sharing this!!!! Again THANKS!!!

You can just jump the control side of the fuel pumps relay socket after removing the relay. You don't need somone in the truck cranking the engine. If the fuel pump has any life left in it, the truck will start. This happen to my 03 Silverado and I was able to get the truck started.

I replace the pump still not starting I add starter fluid it on the trottle it turns on them turns off any suggestions

Check if it is getting spark & also maybe try unhooking the battery for 15mins to reset computer also if you have or can borrow/get your hands on code reader see if it is throwing any codes I want to say could be mass air flow sensor but that is more common to go out on older style Silverado''s like early to mid 90s ish models also make sure your fuel lines are hooked up correct if you bought made in China fuel pump off amazon could be defective part also if it is ACDelco it is a lot less likely but still very slim chance it could be also sometimes people return bad parts & swap them to get refund sometimes people at auto store don't caught it & then the next guy gets screwed just sayin it happens. Hope this helps!!!!!

@@EverydayImTECHnIt yeah has no codes trottle body was getting kinda stuck but put a new one same thing all lines seen like they working I can hear the pump as well working but just cranks idk kinda lost I check the pressure is good relays are good

@@jorarr5174 check all the fuses small & big square ones I'm not sure then inless it Is some weird wiring issue from broken wire on or bad connection did you try having someone crank it & shoot starting fluid in throttle bodies if it fires then you know it is something to do with fuel

Thanks for the video. I experienced the exact thing that you describing. I own a 2000 GMC Sierra. I'm going on my 3rd fuel pump since 2015. recently change the fuel pump in Oct 2019. I don't use my truck everyday. Mid December 2019 I'm using my truck for 2 days and wont start. I banged the bottom of the fuel tank and it started. The fuel pump is an AC Delco hi output. I am stumped.

Rick C you’re sayin you think there is a chicane gas pump will stop working if not used as often?? I change my pump in December and probably drive it 2 a week. I got it to turn on when somewhere then wanted to turn it on and wount work. I know is the pump cuz I can’t hear the pump ignition when I turned the key before cranking on it.

If your going to go through this much trouble to replace a pump. ALWAYS USE THE DEALER ONE. Hell my original one lasted 18 years so I’m sure the new dealer part will last around there.

I have a 02 2500hd crank no start new pump filter regulator still nothing 115k on it she fires then dies no security light on or flashing I checked 1. 5. 2 .8 injectors they are flashing as cranking it also sat for a year

Try unhooking battery for 15 mins then re correct battery this resets the computer & stuff but have to re enter correct time on the radio clock tho lol this may fix your issue

I have the same problem & I just changed the fuel pump. Before I install the new fuel pump I had no problem at the gas station filling up. After I put a new fuel pump and a evap charcoal canister I get a clicking from the gas nozzle then it drives good yet when I park sometimes it just cranks but don’t turn on. After sitting for a while than I crank it it will turn on.

My 01 yukon xl ran out of or extremely low on fuel & died as i was pulling into the gas station & just wouldn't start back up after putting cpl cans of gas in it. Anyone have any ideas? Also it has nvr had any problems other than 02 sensor before this? No codes either?

Did you do what i showed in the video & bang on the underside of gas tank & then have someone try to start truck at same time???? try this if it starts your fuel pump is bad & may run fine for a few days a week or even 2 weeks but it well happen again & this won't work once u do is so may time FYI!!!! So you'll need to replace fuel pump ASAP or you may get stuck somewhere when it finally really goes out all the way!

@@EverydayImTECHnIt yes sir i sure did. Actually did it today after watching ur video. But she didn't do anything. I couldnt hear the pump prime either, i had my son try prime it & turn it over while banging all over the tank with no luck. I'm thinking i burnt the pump up by running it dry?

@@jamesczarnota5155 Go underneath the bed, remove bolts from bottom of the bed (either 6 or 8 bolts), undo the gas line from the inside, unplug your wiring harness behind the back bumper, tilt the bed towards passenger side and support it with a 2x4 or anything sturdy enough to hold it. If you have help you can just completely take the bed off

@@EverydayImTECHnIt Actually I have to confess I made a mistake . Ford fuel lines require a tool . GM are squeeze and pull type but you have to squeeze them in the right place !

Maybe fuel gauge is not working right & it's out gas but showing it has quarter tank or could still be fuel pump but see if you can tell if it has any fuel in it?
