This video demonstrates the functionality of a GM 15599002 TCC vacuum switch and a Borg Warner EC301 vacuum delay valve (substituted in for bad GM 14020691). The vacuum switch has about 3inHg of hysteresis between the on and off vacuum levels. This helps prevent the TCC from turning on and off rapidly at the vacuum switch trip point. The vacuum delay valve also helps with that same potential issue.

Excellent - thank yoiu for measuring the hysteresis, that number will be handy for me; and for documenting the delay valve as well; the approx two seconds of delay is worth knowing; i can find that valve online if i need it; thank you.

I actually found this NOS GM vacuum delay valve from a dealer in Florida. I installed it onto my all stock 1984 Chevrolet Silverado C10 truck. It did nothing to delay my lock-up. I even switched the valve around incase it was installed backwards. Nothing. Cool ideal though. I'll just have to figure out which wire to cut and install a manual switch I guess....

Verify that it is working correctly. It should be easy to blow through it one way with your mouth, and difficult the other way. Maybe the one-way valve in it is stuck open. I have seen that before. A shot of carb cleaner has worked for me to free up a stuck valve.

@@pjmoreland Okay. I'll try that simple "test". LoL!! I was just happy to find a NOS one. Last one in North America according to my GM parts locator....
