I love that when you forgot salt you didn’t panic, just problem solved. Thank you for not edited over that misstep, but showing how you move forward and still get a great dinner to the table. Cheers!

You are so dear, Chetna! I love that your videos include mistakes (forgetting salt), and indecision (which pan to use?). Perfectly imperfect.❤️ Definitely going to try this recipe. Your food is always amazing. Thank you!

I love your new kitchen, Chetna, and I bet you do, too. I have a question about cardamom: I've seen some other cooks and chefs say that you should remove the seeds from the pod and discard the pod before grinding. I noticed you didn't do that here. Is there any reason why one could or should remove the pod, or are those others just being a bit too precious? I'm trying to build my tolerance to yoghurt and this recipe looks like a good way to do that. Thanks!

Question? Could you (or, couldn't you, instead) mix the chicken thighs, potatoes & onion/yogurt mixture together, then layer it in the pan? (Instead of putting the chicken in the pan and trying to spread the mixture evenly and working it around the pieces?) Also, I notice the chillies go in whole (with a 'slit', I believe you said?). Is there any reason why they can't be finely chopped and added? Ps: I'm okay that you forgot the salt - food is waaaay too salty without adding extra, IMHO... :0)
@FoodwithChetna
@FoodwithChetna 3 года назад
Yes you can do that and chop up chillies too. I added whole so that I can eat them with my portion and kids can skip them

Do you always use the Kashmiri chili powder? We love that stuff. Also, I’ve heard that adding bay leaf will stop the veggies from cooking down properly. It doesn’t look like you have that problem, though... care to comment?

What is the chili powder you're using? Over here in Canada, chili powder is a mix of various spices, usually used in Tex-Mex cooking. We also have ground cayenne chili, but that is quite spicy hot. BTW I made your most recent egg curry and it was divine! We have laying hens so I'm always on the lookout for an egg recipe.

Non-fat tends to curdle more and release more water... I do use it often, but I'd hesitate to use it in a dish like this tbh.

I just LOVE your recipes but more your teaching style and personality. PLEASE HELP with one aspect if you can. I observe Jewish kosher dietary laws and we are not allowed to mix dairy with meat. Why do so many Indian and Pakistani recipes insist on using yogurt in almost everything!!!!! I know in the old times yogurt was used as a tenderizer. Now i see it is also for the flavor (tang) and body it gives the recipe. BUT PLEASE what i replace yogurt with? For milk I can use any variety of good substitutes and sometimes even coconut milk, but what do do to replace Yogurt?
@FoodwithChetna
@FoodwithChetna Год назад
The only thing I can suggest is to make a chicken curry with no yogurt. You can find chicken curry with no yogurt on my channel under the playlist chicken recipes. That is the best thing to do.
