If he gave childs play 3 that rating…i can only guess what he’s gonna give the rest being the 3rd film is the weakest of the childs play titled movies of chucky lol
The studio forced Don Mancini to write this one while Child's Play 2 was still in production. Don said he was completely out of ideas when writing, and that it's his least favorite in the series. I think Brad Dourif said it's also his least favorite. The 4th movie is polarizing, but it's one of my all time favorites and introduces my favorite character in the series. I hope you like the next one, but it is very different tonely to the first 3.
You would think that a carnival ride would be safe. Carnival rides tend to be really dangerous in history. There was even a real corpse used as a prop for years in one.
The kids were sent to Military school, I’m not sure if they are also used outside of America but they are an instatutiom that Parents can send there kids to if they are severely disobedient and don’t want to listen. Andy was sent there cause he was always looking out for chucky and most adults just wanted him to go up so he was sent there.
Not a good storyline, Andy grew up and doesn't look anything like Alex Vincent, Not a fan of army movies (myself personally) bad acting by the entire cast, Tyler is way to old to be fascinated by a good guy doll (although Jake Wheeler made it work in Chucky), The killing of Chucky was lousy, Not to mention how do you go from military school to a carnival?
This was by far one of the better ones of the franchise. Plus that finale was fantastic, tossing Chucky into blades chopping him up, fucking hell. This movie was a classic of mine growing up. The next two sequels couldn't match up lmfao.
@@gamesmoney1025 I personally find it boring as hell. It's the only one you can skip and miss almost nothing since the only bearing these events have on later movies is that it offers an explanation for Andy being good with guns, but I think most people wouldn't question it.

Him going to military school did actually make sense. Andy would have stayed in the system because who would adopt him? It's the rest of the film that makes no sense 😕

I'd probably rate them like this: (Excluding the remake and TV series) 1: Child's Play 2 2: Curse of Chucky 3: Child's Play 1988 4: Cult of Chucky 5: Bride of Chucky 6: Child's Play 3 7: Seed of Chucky The big gap between 6 and 7 is how far seed is down 'cause I honestly like all the other movies a lot.

Because of the success of child plays 2. The studio put pressure on Don to make a third one and rushed it for a release. The studio wanted a time jump and wanted Andy older. Alex who played Andy in the first two movies was still a child, so they had to replace him but Don didn’t want Alex to be fully replaced so still used him in pictures etc. Don also hated the third movie, his heart wasn’t in it and was far too rushed.
Military school in America back in the 90's was for kids who didn't have a place to go or they may be going to jail. If you signed up for the Military you didn't go to those schools because you had to graduate high-school first.
Idk who told you this was the worst film. But its not. It's actually loved by many people. Seed of chucky however is universally hated. And I mean hated. It nearly killed the franchise.
Military School isn't the same as active duty Military. It's like ROTC. Edit: due to my above statement and Pug's obvious misunderstanding as to what military school is(no offense, Pug), I'd have to say quite a bit of his criticisms on that front are unwarranted. But the whole chuck mailing himself to the school and how unsafe that "ride" at the carnival was are legitimate gripes for sure and I agree with those. PS: Also it's worth noting that this movie only came out less than a year after Child's Play 2, but it's set about 7 years after the events of that movie, so to answer the "why did they change Andy" question, that's why. And it's not unreasonable to assume that the foster system pit Andy into that school themselves after repeated failed attempts to place him with a foster family. Things were different back then. Final note: also him criticizing Tyler just going along with what Chucky is wanting to do is also kinda unwarranted as well when you consider half of the first Child's Play movie is Andy just going along with what Chucky tells him. Australia clearly has way better traveling carnivals than America lol. I dated a guy who worked at one and he showed me this huge box of "spare" parts aka nuts and bolts that they couldn't figure out where they went on the rides. Never rode another fair ride after that lol
Bride of Chucky next. Seed of Chucky after. Curse of Chucky follows it. Cult of Chucky ends the movie franchise. Chucky TV series continues from Cult of Chucky movie.
ye this movie really isnt good but damn is it funny xD I love the part when Chucky swaps the rounds for live ones thats brilliant :D also I would bet that Chucky simply wrote some sort of a letter for himself to be delivered, he put his box somewhere to be found and went inside it, the packaging was then done by the delivery service :)
I just realized if the second movie started out right after the first one and he was still 6 years old how is he 16 in this movie if only 8 years has passed . That would make him 14

Im suprised that no one's mentioned this yet but the reason this is considered the weakest link of the og 3 is mainly due to it being a copy and paste of much better movies with the same setting. The movie that this takes the most inspiration from would be Stanley Kubrick's masterpiece Full Metal Jacket (1987), right down to the iconic line (16:52)
The reason Child's Play 3 is so bad is because it came out 9 months after 2. That's enough time for a baby not a movie. I wonder how you'll regard the next 2 movies, especially Seed. They focus more on Chucky and have a different tone to these three. The two after that have another tone shift as well.
My husband and I had a child’s play marathon bc he’s never seen any of them. I kept telling him the 3rd one is so bad and we don’t even have to watch it. He insisted that we watch all of them. So literally 10 seconds in, when he sees how they bring chucky back, he said are you kidding me? Put in the next movie right now. 🤣🤣
I just finished watching the 8th and final episode of the Chucky tv series and it's amazing and from what I heard the Chucky tv series will be renewed for a season 2 and it will be released in 2022 I'm very excited about it
Just FYI, going to military school doesn't mean you are automatically in the military. They just train you like you are. It's basically a place to get pre-military experience, send kids with nowhere else to go or where you send kids to be reformed.

I was in Basic Training in 2006. Army, training to be infantry. That whole 'this is my rifle' thing is real. So is everyone being a colossal asshole. This movie is a very tame look at what you could expect at Fort Benning in Columbus Georgia. Just with a lot more swearing, physical abuse and, y'know, not giving a shit when a recruit (me) has a heart attack/seizure combo.

This movie has the best chucky intro with the bloody plastic and the best chucky death cause he gets chopped to pieces and imo this movie it’s not even close to the worst people just act really critical seed of chucky is worse cause at least this movie is a straight up horror and not whatever that movie was

I absolutely hate the next two movies, I don’t like the direction they went. They go back to a more serious tone after seed of Chucky. You just got a push through these next two films 😑😑
They are not actually in the Army . That's military school boot camp for bad kids for troubled kids many kids do eventually do join the army or are expected to join but they don't have to. Study on the army campus and never see home it's common in America like I said so troubled you or children who have no place to go. They're giving military training because he's believed that it helps the kids become better at all for some reason.
Actually the WORST in the series is Seed of Chucky. But that's technically in the banner of the CHUCKY franchise, which does include the Child's Play movies, but don't necessarily go under the CHILD'S PLAY franchise banner. I know that's confusing. Nothing near as confusing as the multiple Halloween timelines, though.
I'm happy that Don Mancini's heart wasn't in Child's Play 3. It ended up being one of the best films in the series because of it. And it's my second favorite in the franchise. The Chucky series starts it's decline with the terrible Bride of Chucky, then dies a certain death with Seed (which was 100% Don's fault). Curse, Cult and the TV show only work because of Fiona Dourif's unparalleled acting.
You hope the other one is better? That is up to you because some people like it and some hates it. Bride is fine and not fine in my opinion. But all I can say is get some therapy first before watching it. Because some things in that movie traumatized me to this day. Oh god that reminds me after Bride get EXTRA THERAPY before you watch Seed. I AM WARNING YOU! But also I have questions are you going to react to series after you react to all the movies?
