Overall, as I am reading through this book I am less sold on Christian Nationalism than before reading. That being said, Chapter 5 "The good of cultural Christianity" is by far the best argumentation so far and worth the price of admission. (Future editions should just lead with this chapter instead of the weird prelapsarian theorizing) I may not end up agreeing with the formation of a a civil government enforced "true religion" .... But people who are eager for the church to be a persecuted remnant in the west... None of us are prepared for a return to Nero's Rome... And that or worse is exactly where the west is going. The danger is not the probable collapse of society either. A truly post Christian America has the wealth and power potential to be a greater scourge on the world than Hitler.

We can all agree on the ends as Christians, we must rely on the holy spirit and each other for the means to be taken up and executes. Also on a side note, I think that the practice of flogged at the card's tail I the town square is a commendable practice and a punishment I look back on which brings forth a feeling of fondness and old timey sentimentality in my heart. Perhaps it would be good for wife punchers , and for that matter husband punchers. Also a children version, perhaps tickling ot spanking in the town square for minor infractions

I find this endorsement very odd and concerning. This book starts by admitting it doesn't appeal to theology or Biblical exegesis to make its case, and the reason why becomes apparent as the author is trying to make an argument from a kind of natural theology. The book is hardcore dualism. It goes on to argue for the Roman Catholic "Donum Superadditum" dogma, the idea that the fall only affected our "supernatural" knowledge but not our "natural" knowledge. It goes on even to argue for a sort of kinism. It is *literally* the exact opposite of a presuppositional approach to... everything. And for a book to *self-admitedly* try to make an argument for Christian Nationalism without making Scriptual exegesis its foundation is definitionally a Christless "Christian Nationalism". Brian Mattson, who is a fellow at the Ezra Institute, wrote a scathing review of this book. It's called "A Children's Crusade". I reccomend it.

We are seeing the long term results of the bifurcation inherent to our origins as a nation I think, the rosacruscians (sic) one 1⃣ hand, let us say the left, and the puritans on the right hand. As puritans' progeny, we have no doubt become rather light in the loafers in recent years and must rededicate ourselves and our offspring to God, as the left is aggressively redesecrating themselves as a detriment to us all.

Wolfe (in his book): "We FEEL natural affection for these people (and not for others) and we clearly see the good of preferring them over others. That is to say, we know by instinct and reason that we ought to prefer some over others. It is also evident, from both instinct and reason, that we ought to prefer our own nation and countrymen over others. This instinct is not from the fall or due to sin; it is natural and, therefore, good. We are naturally drawn to what, in principle, is necessary for our complete good." Also Wolfe: we can't trust women to lead or make decisions because they are too focused on feelings. This guy... I don't understand why anyone is listening to him. His whole argument is that we can trust our feelings because they are naturally good, a belief totally contrary to Reformed theology it boggles the mind. He is all about feelings. And then he goes on and on about how women are too in their feelings or empathetic to be leaders.

@Gunnar Tesdahl I disagree with your critique. “we can trust our feelings because they are naturally good” is not a fair summation of the quote you start with. Rather, that section argues that this specific feeling is a good, God-given feeling (which is not contrary to reformed theology). He does not argue that all feelings should be trusted. Also Wolfe does not say what you attribute to him in the second instance, “we can't trust women to lead or make decisions because they are too focused on feelings.” This is just another unfair characterization of his position. He does say that women tend to act out of empathy and that this is not good in a leadership position, on which point I agree with him.

The United States was founded upon 2 Christian principles from the Word of God. In Revelation 13:11 we find a beast or a Nation springing up from the wilderness, clearly this is the U.S. This beast has 2 horns like a lamb. This country was founded upon Religious Liberty, and Civil Liberty. The opportunity to live free without being ruled by a Pope, and ruled by a King. What is being discussed here is not based on these 2 principles of Religious & Civil Liberties, but to go back to oppression and persecution. The Bible predicted this would happen because in that same verse Revelation 13:11 it say that although the U.S. would begin with these principles eventually this nation would begin to speak as a dragon or Satan. A nation speaks by the laws it passes. If you listen to other interviews with Stephen Wolfe you will find that he is in favor of using the civil government to enforce a Sunday Sabbath, also deal with blasphemers. A Sunday Worship law is making an image to the Antichrist beast of Revelation 13:1-10 which is the Roman Catholic Church. She claims to have changed God’s true Seventh day Sabbath. Justinian. “Sunday is our mark of authority …. The church is above the Bible, and this transference of sabbath observance is proof of that fact” (The Catholic Record of London, Ontario, Sept. 1, 1923

Joel, can you give resources that have helped you on seeing the dangers of woman suffrage? I agree the suffragettes often were undermining families. But it seems we should’ve had household head land owning votes in the republic, male or female, white or not, and I think possibly only for explicit Christian nationalists who could demonstrate church membership to some not established but theologically orthodox Church, from the beginning. Totally agree reality is patriarchal, and that leaders emerge, and that mostly men leading is a sign of blessing while when kids and women are leaders we’re under judgement. But curious for your thoughts on historical resources for bad effects of suffragettes (Eve in exile? Etc), and whether all forms of suffrage for women in your opinion are bad. Appreciate your ministry, from here in Moscow!

It is true that these suffragette-originating policies have largely come back and bitten women in the rear end, but I have noticed for example that places that impose the "welcome foreigners!" Policies upon a nation, it disproportionately affects the HOTTEST women, as you said Sweden and Germany. Like with Joel's murder rate explanation (murderists gravitate towards the types of murder which is currently legal), foreign rapers from cultures which encourage rape gravitate towards the most accommodating and attractive locations to practice their inferior cultural traditions, i.e., raping.

One good book I've been re-reading this past week is "The Burned-Over District" by Whitney R. Cross that describes the seedbed of religious enthusiasm that swept over North and West New York state during the 2nd Great Awakening. Starting with Finney's first great crusade of 1825 in Utica and Rome, then following the Canal west for the 2nd phase in 1831 around Rochester and down the Genesee Valley. The religious enthusiasm generated was called Altruism and it opened people up for action in heterodox paths such as temperance, Millerism, perfectionism, Mormonism, and ultimately abolitionism leading to war. I believe the figure was 60% women in churches of those days. Emerging from subsistence farming men were still in the field, but women had more time on their hands to fuel these social crusades, including feminism. Very little was done to implement Biblical law into the societal structures. Jonathan Edwards set the stage for this a century earlier in 1740 and ironically his intellectual status sparked the New Light enthusiasm of young (like around age 20-23), 3rd generation Puritans who crossed the Alleghany mountains into New York as idealistic, impressionable Yankees. I believe it was actually Doug Wilson who said that there were three sexes in those days: women, men and clergymen. In other words a feminized Christianity emerged from all of that and the secular pluralism inherent in the U.S. Constituton eventually took over.

From what I see, criminal blasphemy in Biblical law is a very public and defiant form of blasphemy that undermines the scripture and church. It isn't about minor disagreements in theology, nor do I see any command to have idol inspections by a state police or anything like that. I always reflect on the laws protecting the foreigner and sojourner living among them based on their own time in Egypt. They worshiped a different God from the Egyptians, and very likely any sojourner among them would be of a different religion. So I understand it that if one doesn't believe in God, that is fine as long as they aren't disrupting the peace or disrupting the national religion or otherwise actively leading people astray. The moral aspect would fall to the Levitical priests (the church) to share the gospel with them, but no state law would be violated if they keep it to themselves.

By choosing to publish and promote Stephen Wolfe, Doug Wilson has demonstrated that his highest authority is the natural law idol that Wolfe substitutes for Bible law. This is precisely the sin of mother Eve when she exalted her own natural law thinking above the Word of God. Wolfe reveals his hand in the Introduction when he boldly declares that his political philosophy based on "natural principles" is intended to lay a foundation for God's political theology. That is an incredible assault on the authority of the Bible. The weasel words in this video are "civil law is something that binds our conscience to action because it's rooted in the law of God, the natural law, the moral law of God." Historically, natural law has first been equated with the Bible -- as Wolfe does here -- and then the Bible is quietly shuffled to the back door. The whole kinism, white supremist discussion is a red herring that distracts from this fundamental issue. His choice of Wolfe's Thomistic model proves that he does not in fact believe that the Bible should inform our behavior in the public square. By casting his lot with Wolfe's natural law, Wilson has eliminated the distinction between morality and state. Natural law is undefined and undefinable. That's why Wilson and Wolfe cling to the godless, Christ-rejecting U.S. Constitution as the ideal template for civil government. Wilson/Wolfe prefer the allegedly neutral Constitutionalism of the British Commonwealth Men over the Biblical covenantalism of Moses' Book of the Covenant (Ex 24:7). Check GreatBibleResetdotcom.

The most alarming part of this video is that your definition of power doesn't align with the way in which Christ defined power. In fact, the way of Christ is hardly mentioned. That is an extreme problem, as Christ is the one we are called to imitate. "This guy should be hung, publicly," is the "male" perspective that you are promoting as good? In what way is that Christlike? The Christ I know says this: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. Women don't have "untethered empathy"; we have Christ-centered empathy. We are modeling the true Adam, the one who shined light into the darkness with his compassion, empathy, and costly love - not by strong-arming, force, degradation, and toughness, as you would have it. May we look to Christ to see what true power looks like, and not your twisted definition. And may women (and men) called by God continue to shine that light, reflecting the goodness, mercy, love, and forgiveness of our life-giving savior.

Christian nationalism is a dead end system. What the leaders don’t tell you, is that it would never work UNLESS Christians took over the means of production/distribution, as well as all media outlets. That’s socialism. Otherwise, what good will putting Christians in power do, if they still have to compete with anti Christianity in the private sector and the media?? Also, Calvinism is a huge mistake, & is a recipe for disaster; because it teaches that the mass of mankind will never be able to accept the Gospel. This necessitates a militant takeover of existent institutions, where you have to pull people out of their positions and replace them with Christians. However, wouldn’t it be much better if you could just convince those _already in charge_ to change their methods of dealing with their fellow man?? In that case, you wouldn’t have to replace anyone, and social regeneration would be 100% voluntary. Again, that’s socialism.
