One of my 2024 horror hobby goals was to watch the entire Chucky / Child's Play movie franchise and I am proud to report that I finished the movies not even halfway through the year!! Go me!!

It makes my dark soul happy to see you dive into the Friday the 13th franchise!. I must say part 1 & 2 are my favorite. throw in part 3 just for the 3D nostalgia. I love a summer setting too. I remember watching part 1 as a kid with my older cousin. The ending scared the crap out of me. LOL

This was SO fun! I’m so sad I could watch live. YAY for Bride of Chucky. It’s one of my ultimate fave horror movies. I think you’d both enjoy the Chucky show. They did such a great job of incorporating what has happened in the movies. Would love to chat about it with you. I haven’t watched the last part of the new season because I do feel they jumped the shark a bit but had enjoyed it up til then! Love CHUCKERS so much, thanks for giving me a space to fanghoul over him 😊

I love all the Chucky movies! Hilarious and creepy. Curse of Chucky is great, and it has a great commentary track. I’m going to watch the tv show at some point. I’m enjoying the replay 👍🏻🎥🎥🎥🎥🦇🦇🦇🦇

I think that's why I love him so much -- he is scary in his moral ambiguity (will he spare you or stab you to death? lmao) and then SO DANG FUNNY! But not in a potty humor kind of way. Thanks so much for watching!

Watching the replay at work today - this was such a great conversation. I'm almost glad I wasn't there live because I would have been flooding the chat with comments lol Child's Play/Chucky is one of my favorite series. My personal favorite is number 2. Chucky's death at the end is so gruesome. You should absolutely watch the series this fall and winter. So many of your questions will be answered! My rankings from best to not best: 2, 1, Bride, Curse, Cult, Seed, & 3. I was not a fan of the remake and isn't worthy of ranking with the Mancini franchise.

haha I love a flooded chat!! YES -- Childs Play 2 has THE best setting at the end of the film. That's largely what makes the entire movie for me! I AM TOTALLY WATCHING THE SHOW!!!

Yes!!! That’s why it’s so high up there for me. And the carnival setting at the end too. If the franchise does one thing well, it’s utilizing the spaces and settings they’ve dropped the little Chuckster into to terrorize 😂

There were actually three movies that came out in the 90’s. Child’s play 2 in 1990, child’s play 3 in 1991, and bride of chucky in 1998

Heyy sorry I missed the live! Catching you on the replay though :) Same Michelle. Chucky was the first horror movie I ever watched. Also wayyy too young. I had a very different reaction to it though 🤣 Wow you guys are blowing my mind with the Frankenstein comparisons You guys may have convinced me to give the franchise another shot 👀

Y’all you so need to watch the show. There is soooo much queerness, so many characters come back that you mentioned wanting to see. They have also teased Mancini has a movie idea that I think will be set like right as part of the show.

If i wasn't already sold on watching the show, I am now! Idk what it is, but sometimes starting a new series is so unappealing to me. It's kind of like starting a new book with having to do the work of ingratiating myself into a new world with new characters. But I have to remember that I know this world!

@@happyhauntslibrary Oh totally, they do introduce new characters, but it feels more like the set up of a new movie and the seasons aren't super long, which is nice.
