In this long overdue running session I took the new Murphy Models CIE 121 out for a spin with the IRM Guinness kegs. I hope you enjoy it.

¡Hola buenas tardes Paul! Some lovely camera angles in that video. Especially liked the passing shot showing the view down and, through, the goods siding. An evening shot, with the flood lights on, would have been great to see. As ever, stay safe and well. Un saludo. Gary

Hi Gary, thanks for the kind comments. There’s so much potential with this side of the layout when it gets scenics added but it still feels so far away. Paul

Hi paul- Sometimes its just nice to play trains. Those beer kegs are excellent I noticed Accurascale we re selling the beer keg loads and picked some up. The running shots shows off nicely the work you have done on the layout. Cheers Kev

It is indeed Kevin and I enjoyed this one a lot. I must pick up some of those separate kegs for a goods yard scene or to extend the length of the train with the other bogie flats I have. Paul

Cracking video Paul. It may not be prototypical but that particular train needs a black guards van with a creamy white roof! ;-)

Very unique colour scheme. Were they local builds or imported ? That is great pulling power. Great shot as it passes the signal box and with the landscaping it provides lots of vignettes. You really have been busy . Well done👍

Thanks so much Charlie. The 121’s were American built I believe, the first of a series of orders after failed results using British companies. Paul

Fantastic video paul. I forget at times that you still have scenics to do over at the main station area haha. That CIE 121 looks the business pulling those guinness kegs, fancy winging a pint of it my way?

Hiya Paul, I have to say that is a stunning running session. Are you by chance building a part of a Guinness factory outlet to suit at some point? That static grass is spot on too... excellent layout so far, thanks for sharing the views..Chris

Great video Paul, we are beginning to see how operations on the layout will work. You're a good man with the numbers so tell me, how many pints of Guinness does that represent and how often does the brewery make a shipment like that? Regards, from a thirsty David.
@GalgormHall
@GalgormHall 3 года назад
Hopefully I can start producing some more sessions like this David. I certainly enjoyed creating this one. As to the number of pints in the train? Probably enough for one short evening in an Irish bar. 😂 The shipments in not sure about to be honest but from what I’ve read they were regular features on the network until road became the more economical approach. Paul
@2H80vids
@2H80vids 3 года назад
Your question's made me thirsty now.🍻 Taking each wagon as 5 cages of 6x6x5 kegs, should give you 7200 kegs on the 8 flats. If a keg is 124 pints, the train, not including the driver's lunchbox, should be carrying about 892,800 pints of the black stuff - 𝑰 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒌 (it is Saturday morning though😁). As Paul said, about enough for an evening's entertainment, if there's another train following on with some gas bottles - hic.😁
@trainsontuesday
@trainsontuesday 3 года назад
@@2H80vids So, that would be enough to keep one man (or woman) supplied with 5 pints of Guinness per day for just under 490 years! I think we've found the fountain of youth. Send a train load to me and I'll put in an order for a refill too.
@2H80vids
@2H80vids 3 года назад
@@trainsontuesday I wonder if you get money back on the empty kegs? See driver for details?😁
@trainsontuesday
@trainsontuesday 3 года назад
@@2H80vids Well now, there's not much Irish in me but there's enough to know that if the good people at Guinness aren't offering a refund on the kegs, then the scrap metal merchant is and he'd be willing to help empty them so you can get your refund sooner.
