only included bits where parking is the main focus/topic of discussion or else the video would be too long. obviously missed a lot here. join our car/top gear/the grand tour server. yes: / discord video notifs: / discord
My favourite bits are: 1. Richard adopting the 'French' attitude to parking 0:10. 2. James trying to cram his dishwasher into a boot that's slightly too small 0:42. 3. Jeremy and his efforts at trying to pay for his parking space 25:20.
23:55 -How far away is that? -Like 15 feet -Hammond? -What? -We live in London, we can build a 4 million pounds house in that gap That part got me tearing lol
@@ramblingrob4693 Are you the type of person who watches "Fawlty Towers" and thinks it’s a documentary? Obviously Top Gear is scripted since it’s pretty much a comedy show. That shouldn’t stop you from enjoying it unless you have no sense of humour whatsoever.
@@PneumatinisPlaktukas15amen dude. I’ve seen a lot of those “it’s scripted” comments on this video, like no shit it has a script, they wouldn’t go anywhere without one 😂 they keep acting like it’s some profound statement that says they’re so smart or some shit😂 like Christ we get it,the shows scripted,we enjoy it now fuck off😂 love you bro
I truly appreciate these compilations. It’s like an audiobook of the most profound blokes. I discovered Top Gear a couple years ago, but it was during a period of change for me. It’s like an intrinsic part of my life now. I think it’s a bit like that Sainsbury’s taste the difference cheese.
Same here. When I was growing up we were poor and didn't have a car. Then when I was older my mate was giving me a lift and we were in an accident. All of that made sure I didn't develop a passion for cars. Years later I stumbled upon the india special. I never watched tg since I thought it was a car programme. I started watching reruns religiously and a year later I got my licence and first wheels. Now I drive a 2021 Dacia Sandero
the best part of that French car episode is when Richard rear-ends James later in the episode he doesn't scream "HAMMOND!!!!" he calmly says "Oh no, my dishwasher"
@@Creatronic It always makes me crack up when he says "We're going out to do some parking". It reminds me of when I was learning to drive and actually did go out to do some parking with my dad quite often.
It's funny, you can watch videos of people driving Countachs today and they still use the same method to park it (The Stradman did a video where he does it a few days ago.)
14:47 "This is what going to hell in a handcart feels like..." "...Because I've had a Nobel peace prize for parellel parking" Out of context James May fits in so well in this transition
35:40 Bay not wide enough for the car haha. This reminds me when the council repainted the parking bays down my road after they resurfaced the road and my car was the only one out of other neighbors who used the bays that was too wide for the bays so the council had to come and repaint the bays down the road to the correct width that they were before they resurfaced the road.
The golden years of television, there is nothing worth watching on regular TV nowadays. Clarkson, Hammond and May's chemistry together was second to none.
In 1991 I was in Paris, I saw Taxi’s bang into each others bumpers at traffic lights, and watched a car get lightly sideswiped, and nothing, no cars stopping, no arguments between drivers nothing 😂😂😂
Well, this is only true if everyone is French, when we went by bus in the roundabout of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris in December 2000... and the tourist leader just talked about how French drivers are cool... as a Hungarian tourist and one came from the side and hit us, he screamed for half an hour and then called a cop…
28:35 I will never, ever, ever get to a stage in life when I don't crease up laughing at that I A M symbol for driving. Looking forward to the next series from the farm too. Just had a kebab, washed down with a chilled Hawkstone lager. Bordering on a perfect Saturday night.
It's weird for me to watch the scenes at 7:00. I used to live in that area and the Blockbuster behind them (Which had already closed down by this point) is where my family would rent videos on the weekends when I was about 10. The tall grey building behind them at 7:43 is somewhere I was constantly delivering pizzas too when I was a pizza delivery guy in my late teens.
Nearly every modern semi tractor in America is like that Saab: completely impossible to drive on account of the drunken robot flipping the switch on the clutch.
@@neilmurphy845 I don't. I got fired from Roehl and now I have a job where I drive a 15 speed Mack that's older than me about once a month. It's fantastic. Don't work for an ATA member if you can avoid it. Big carriers suck ass, especially Roehl. I'd have been better off at Knight-Swift.
Has there been a compilation of locals helping the presenters cars/bikes/vehicles, whether it’s breakdowns and/or trying to get it to start? E.g. Jeremy’s Vespa in Vietnam
1:03 in Norway we would just Either secure the items and drive with the booth open or get one of those ropes to secure items in trailers and such and attach it to something in the trunk and attach it to the booth to hold it in place. Actually saw 2 people doin that last one while I was writing this 😂
I'm not a fan of proprietary phone apps to pay for trivial things like parking or recreation park day fees. If the administrator doesn't have enough interest to send a person around to collect the fee, then screw them because they likely won't pay wardens to ever check.
Clarkson's doc on the greatest raid of WW2 got me interested in him. His commercials for his lager made me a dedicated admirer. Free speech is freedom, even if you disagree with what the person says. Too many people in America and Britain don't understand this because we have allowed the NAZIs and Communist to take over education.
this is just amazing, to think that there is enough video to make a parking compilation. At this rate i wont be surprised if there is a toilet compilation for top gear. I love this show and it is for this very reason
It reminds me of the first time I saw a Citroën C6. It was just on the market and while I was admiring the car, the owner got in. Bumped the car in front, bumped the car in reverse and drove off.
Missed the $10,000 Supercar parking challenge, Jeremy getting stuck in a Ford GT in studio and the TG Peugeot parking but amazing compilation none the less
The Vietnam Grand tour episode with the boats is my favorite. James brought the best boat although slow the shaft propeller and rudder setup is the best for what they were doing and if it had a skeg guard for the prop alot of the tangles wouldn't of even happened. Plus the character of a old wooden boat is much more appeasing than a plastic speedboat and if you've ever driven a jet boat over 20ft it's like driving a drunk jetski hence why Jezza crashes constantly.
