There’s a local fastfood joint called SEX, short for Sinangag EXpress and their silogs, particularly the tapsilog, are delectable. They are also available for delivery in food delivery apps. But this can get tricky, colleagues and I would joke about having SEX for lunch. :D
of all the foreigners I've watched who ate silog dishes, you are the only ones that did their homework and explained it perfectly well for other foreigners to understand what it is. kudos to you for doing that.
@@eck2x, You're full of awesome recommendations. Turns out there are none of those here in Cebu. But there is a place called sinangang station here. I may have to check them out
My favorite silog is Liemposilog. It's fried pork belly (Liempo), Sinangag (garlic fried rice) and itlog (egg). Here in our country, you can mix match the Silogs, we even have sisiglog, if you're fond of sisig :)
@@travelwithjuza5338, Love sisig, but I am intrigued by the liemposilog. I have yet to see it on a menu of any kind. But thanks to your comment, I will find it somewhere here in the Philippines. Thank you so much
This is honestly one of the best Filipino food review I have ever watched. Filipino cuisine usually gets a bad rap especially when compared to our neighbors’ cuisine so it’s refreshing to see a couple who clearly understand and appreciate our dishes and their flavor profiles. Thank you.
I love the fact that you two are not picky with food. Other vloggers either have weak stomach, don’t eat pork, meat, fried, salty, vinegar, sweet. Mmmm I love the ensaymada shop you went to.
These classic Filipino dishes are just a few examples of the rich and diverse cuisine of the Philippines. Each dish has its own unique flavor profile and cultural significance, and trying them is a great way to experience the country's culinary traditions. Enjoy your culinary journey!
As of 30 seconds ago, I'm your newest subscriber. I've watched several of your videos and I am impressed on how humble and down-to-earth you both are! Keep up the great work. RU-vid needs more people like you two.
I would recommend you guys try our fiestas here in the Philippines. You'd be blown away by all the traditional Filipino foods that we have during fiestas.
I just love everything that you do no matter that it makes me crave for food.🤣 Love your eating and your discourse with the people in your vlog. It's so honest!
Thank you for featuring Filipino food. You two are the only foreigners so far that have no fear of Balut. You have tried the pork belly lechon only. Waiting for your reaction for the real Cebu Lechon.
I appreciate both of your adventurous sides when it comes to trying out different flavors. Many people would be deterred just by the smell of certain foods (i.e. shrimp paste or the salted eggs). What I really enjoy about Filipino foods are the different flavor profiles due to various cultural influences from different parts of the world. Thank you for showcasing how enjoyable and tasty Filipino foods are. 💕
Thank you so much. But in fairness i have been in SE Asia before and I have been here in multiple countries for the last 8 months shrimp paste is not new to me. 😀
Just subscribed! You’re food vlogging caught my attention and I love it all! Two for the price of one I mean two descriptions of you two are worth to stay watching till the end , but I don’t want to end watching !! Keep it coming !!
My oh my! You really know how to whet my appetite! Thank you for another unique video presentation of the culinary scene in the Philippines! How much I miss it!
I honestly love you for researching the meaning of silogs, they are my go to meals if I wanna eat something good yet still affordable (I always order SisigSilog). Crispy patas and Lechons are usually served during special occasions coz they're kinda expensive in our budget 😅
I love you guys. Just discovered your channel today and now I can't stop watching your vids. I'm literally binge watching all your videos right now. Btw, I too also loveeee crispy pata, longsilog(another type of silog) and adobo.
You are practically stand on your blog name because you two are pure food explorer pure taster pure elegant eater Im not sure a better word for it , so you really live up to what your channel is all about!!thank you! More fun in the Philippines!!!
You guys are on a roll! Sinigang & tapsilog, bangsilog- as real as it goes in non-fancy restaurants. Power on guys and stay longer in the Philippines. You are a beautiful couple and yet so down to earth in your traveler’s persona. Pilipinos can discern your sincerity👍
How is FRIED EGG a big deal in the Philippines? Filipino workers in the big cities were forced to eat FRIED EGGS for lunch and dinner. FRIED EGGS are cheaper than vegetable, that is the only reason those Tapsilog exist. The Filipino masses deserve better meals. No one in Cambodia or Laos will be going out for dinner just to eat FRIED EGGS and Rice with garlic.
@@eduardochavacano, Well there is where you are wrong. In fact, my favourite dish in the whole world and extremely popular amongst locals tfrom Thailand is called Pad Krapau. It's minced pork stir fried with Thai holy basil and chilis. Served with rice and wait for it..............A FRIED EGG. One of the most popular street foods in Cambodia is fried rice with eggs. And a very popular one in Laos is called Kua mee. Stir fried noodles with fried eggs or omelette strips Both Malaysia and Indnesia are know for either hard boiled eggs and in some cases half boiled eggs being served with numerous meals
@@eduardochavacano wahahahahaha! How does it feel to get slapped and be exposed as an idiot? The egg is there to break monotony. It's also there as an extender as it is better to see a plate with 3 things on it instead of just rice and a viand. Want me to go on? Plating purposes. An egg occupies 1/3 of a plate. It gives you a sense of satisfaction to see a full plate before you, which is value for money. Next time you research first before insinuating something you're totally ignorant of. Why don't you try selling food at P120 per plate that are not Silogs and have better portions than the Silogs you're belittling. Let's see if the masses can afford them or better yet, let's see at the end of the day who gets their return of investment first, you, who sells P120 plates with better portions of meals or the Silog makers, who also sells them at P120 but gets a more mark up than you. I think, later on you'll also be also forced to sell Silogs because your P120 plate with better portions is not sustainable from a business standpoint.
Loved this video!! Can’t wait to see more of your videos especially the lechon!!! It was fun hanging out with you Geoff and hope you enjoyed all those foods!! See you again my friend and enjoy your trip! 😊😊😊
Just found out your channel, ma'am 🤗. Thank you for sharing your adventure in the PH. Enjoy your stay there😍 More of this, soon!! Sending support from Kimchiboi TV. Watching from S Korea 🇰🇷❤️
Another amazing food tour. I saw camto soup on Joe's menu. You should have tried that too. That "salad" (ensaladang talong) at Aristocrat should have been mixed first with the eggplant (mashed) for all the flavors and textures to come together. I would toast the ensaymada, but that's just my preference.
If you are still in Manila and you see a Mary Grace Cafe, that’s where you should try the ensaymada. That’s as classic as it gets and best paired with Filipino version of hot chocolate and Mary Grace’s version is also great. Best for afternoon snack/tea.
Need to try Crocodile Sigsig, Tamilok, Nido Soup, Dinuguan, Chicharon Bulaklak, Balut, Isaw. Im from Guam and these exotics are delicious. Nice upload!
Sounds like several of these are from Palawan. Not sure I will make it there this trip or if I would be able to find them in other parts of the country. My eyes are certainly peeled for them now
