Classic Tinolang Manok is a healthy Filipino chicken soup dish with vegetables. This dish has a clear broth and includes moringa (malunggay), chayote, green papaya, hot pepper leaves, and ginger as part of the ingredients.
Tinolang Manok is also known as chicken tinola. It is one authentic Filipino dish that is eaten with rice.
Chicken Tinola Ingredients:
2 lbs. chicken cut into serving pieces
1 cup malunggay leaves
1 cup hot pepper leaves
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 piece chayote or small unripe papaya wedged
6 cups water
1 Knorr chicken cube
1 medium yellow onion sliced
4 cloves garlic crushed and chopped
3 thumbs ginger julienne
2 tablespoons fish sauce patis
3 tablespoons vegetable oil

marunong na ako magluto dahil sa Panlasang Pinoy utube channel. mahirap dito sa abroad wala kang taga luto. dami ko natutunan. at kasing sarap ng luto ko yung luto ng tatay ko na namimis ko sa pinas ^_^

I can make this dish as I grow moringa or malunggay and lemon grass in the Chula Vista area. Tried cooking the Tinolang Manok sa Gata and it turned out great. I just trim the extra fat from the chicken before cooking though. Thanks a bunch for sharing your culinary expertise. Mabuhay and more power to you.

Hi Vanjo! I have a tip on how to take off the fat from the rest of the broth. I use a paper towel and lay it gently on top of the scum and lift it slowly. Use more paper towels as needed. :)

kakaluto ko lng po ngayon ng tinolang manok, I watched your video first though my idea na ko kung pano. Chef, kami po na mga taga Visayas ay di hilig ang patis. Kaya asin na lang po ginamit ko :-) Maraming salamat po sa tips!

ang hilig ng mga tagalog magluto ng tinola na overcook ung papaya or sayote. at masa masarap ang tinola if ang ilagay is dahon ng sili esp ung dahon ng siling labuyo kasi mas malass un compared sa ibang variety ng sili... at mas masarap if lemon grass ang ilagay imbis na luya..

Hindi po ako marunong magluto Kya ng pinagluto ako pinanood ko lang po ang vlog nyu.. slamat at npaka dali lang at masarap. . Kya eto madalas nko magluto.... At napaka sarap po. . Sana marami pa kyo ibang simple pero masarap na food na i share samin. . Need safe n God bless po

Thanks for the recipe, it looks delicious! Although, adding the Knorr chicken cube makes it less healthy... as it has additives and MSG. I'll be trying it without the chicken cube.

Kung walang hot pepper leaves, kahit malunggay lang ay okay na. Kung may spinach na available sa location mo, pwede ring gamitin yun.
