Never knew there was a spot to put an Allen wrench in there. My disposal has been non working and clogging for years. I did this and it drained right away and the disposal works again. Thanks!

I come to this fix guy every time I forget not to; put shred carrots or spinach or any veggie that has fibers. I keep tge thing smelling good once a week with vinegar baking soda and ice 🧊 keeps blades sharp
reguarly clean your garbage disposal. Easy way to do this is to take ice and salt and run it through while the disposal is turned on. at the same time, have your faucet running only 10% flow rate of cold water whilst the ice and salt is running through. You will notice a huge difference next time you use it. make sure the water runs the whole time. do not turn the water all the way up as it will just melt the ice and wash away the salt which is useful for its abrasive action cleaning away all sorts of built up gunk which sticks on the blades sometimes locking up the disposal.
I put ice down mine once a week. Also helps if you have small bits stuck in it like onion skins and pushes it all out. I don’t know how I ever lived without a disposal. My bin used to smell so bad.
I get it clogged with shredded 🥕 or spinach. Ugh. My blades are sharp as I use your technique along with baking soda vinegar and ice. Thank you too. I come back to do the unclog when I forget not to put in the veggies that have shreds.

Wow!!! The button was still inside and the blade us swirling. I press the button once and it moved the water faster. I turned it off and press the button 3x and turned it back on. It loosened up and went down!!! Thank you! Dont put bad spinach in the disposal by the handfuls. I guess the fibers get stuck. Thank you so much!!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤

Best way to fix it is to remove it and put in a normal drain, save yourself from calling a plumber because of clogged pipes and remove the hidden danger
What is the point of the Allen wrench? Is it to loosen the garbage disposal? Sorry, that part confused me and I need to try this because mine is clogged too.
I just bought a new garbage disposal because the previous one rusted through and was leaking. I hooked it up but it won’t turn on. It’s not the button. I hooked up the wires; black to black & white to white, and the ground. Still nothing. Circuit breaker panel works fine. I’m clueless at this point. Any pointers?
