I am 69 years old. Bought a set of Cobra SZ 4-pw. I work out every day to keep fit, but I'm still surprised at the distance of these irons. 5 iron 200. 4 iron 210-215. PW 130. 7 iron-165-170. I hit the ball a bit low with lots of roll out. Even in my 30s I didn't hit the ball that far. Technology is the reason. The strong lofts also contributed to the amazing distances. I don't know whether this is a good thing or not. My trusty Wilson blades were at least a club or a club and a half short of the Cobras. With the Wilsons I could shape the ball and spin it on the greens. The feel of the forged Wilson Staff clubs was much better than the Cobras. It takes more effort with the Cobras to shape the ball, so I decided to just aim the ball at the target and let it fly. Beside the PW, I carry 4 other wedges, all of which are forged- 58 degree SW, 6O degree lob wedge, 64 degree, and 68 degree. The last two wedges are for hitting short shots over bunkers and trees. If you are getting older and want to maintain your distance, these are the clubs for you. They make golf fun again.

I had one of these in my hands a few days ago in Florida. They’re surprisingly easy to look at in terms of size and offset. The price point is also excellent. Ian’s comment about light shafts and easier swings is spot on. My switch to ultra light steel shafts in my irons has improved the quality of my range time. There’s less fatigue and elbow strain. In fact, my years long problem with right elbow pain disappeared completely within two weeks of picking up my clubs from your ex. Burlington location.

I bought these irons for this season. I can’t wait to hit the course with them. Testing so far I’m getting 12-15 more yards with control on them. Highly recommend them to 18-24 handicap golfers

In my opinion, these strong-lofted irons give an interesting option to some players who may choose to play single length irons in long irons and variable length irons in their short irons. Here’s a sample set makeup; lofts are from Titleist website and are 7 irons at same length and lie: T400, 26; T200, 30; T100, 34; T100 or 620CB 8-PW. To me this is an intriguing concept for people who have struggled with long irons in the past. This Cobra 6 iron would have been a great 5 iron option for Matt when you guys did the Wishon Sterling fitting. I know a lot of people think loft jacking has gotten out of control but I just see it as more options, as I’m sure you guys do as well. Thanks for the great channel!

Great review. My wife got me a set of these for Christmas. I gave my son my forged tec irons so he could play high school competition and he absolutely pures them. Hoping these feels similar but will help with my contact deficiency

Sold my 585's for a set of cobra f9 speedback irons. Made a world of difference for me. So easy to hit, long and hold greens. Speedzones are quite similar to the previous speedback if you want to save some money. MC just reviewed these but they focused on the lofts/#'s on club which was annoying as hell. Needless to say he was very impressed with the performance.

With these irons it seems the bubble sole creates a lower CG. So even with the stronger loft it creates a different ball flight. I am basing my opinion solely on my history with Cobra King iron model & shaft combinations. I had the F6, dynamic gold stiff +1" 1 degree up (26 degree loft 6 iron). I had the F8, KBS 130S C-taper +1" 1 degree up (25.5 degree loft 6 iron) I have the SZ, KBS 125S $ taper +1" 2 degree up (24.5 degree loft 6 iron) My average swing speed with my 6 iron is just over 90mph. With the 3 set ups I mentioned my carry and total numbers are all so close you wouldn't know the loft had changed. With that being said the F8 set up had the best feel and ability to shape shots, with the limited ability I have.

This was an interesting vid. Could u guys maybe think about a vid with some of these power irons being used as driving irons? SIM, Speedzone, Mavrik? Slightly more forgiving head in a distance capacity is an interesting idea 🤔🤔

While I havnt seen the speed zone irons in person I can’t imagine there much different from the f9 which I have. That being said I don’t think I would put them in the super game improvement category. I also have the p790 and there overall footprint isn’t much bigger at all. They don’t have that super thick top line or tons of offset. But maybe the speed zone are different just my 2ć

Is reasonable to think you could build a bag for a higher swing speed player starting with .ie the 7iron ( Stong loft) as the "longest length in the bag" then you descend down from there with more standard irons/wedges? I like the idea of the consistency someone could get with shorter clubs. Almost a version of single length for the masses. Titleist for example T400 7 ,T300 7, T200 7 ,718 mb 7-P. Video Idea... love the channel!

I have last year's Speedback 4 iron with a driving iron shaft. It's a beast.

Im a single figure player but low clubhead speed...i was just fitted and these out performed everything by miles...i was taken with forged tec and got similar numbers but only on my best strikes..and felt like i was working hard ...the SZ was just so easy..i picked up 15 yards + over my old set(jpx 900) .... I love the better looking clubs but they never seem to give me what i need ....but thought these were a good alternative as the looks were not as offensive as say a Ping or Callaway Also must praise my fitter he had patience!!! I went back 3 times to re-test the 2 different heads....but in the end i just couldnt argue with the number..... Looking forward to bombing it next week when they turn up..... Really enjoy your stuff and have learned a ton .... Most of your stuff is more the high speed players but some of your information is a real eye opener...😁😁

Been watching you guys from day 1. Finally booked my first ever fitting. There’s a club champion in Salt Lake City Utah which is about a 2 hour drive for me. Headed there Friday hopefully they are close to what you guys offer at TXG.

I think very few people can go up there and change their swing speed, club heads, shafts and hit it that consistent over and over again. Insane striking

Is it a good idea to get fitted for new irons after a large handicap change? Got 2017 P790s but fitted when I was 21 handicap, I'm now playing off 7.5. Wondering if a new fitting now will be beneficial?

I just hate the way when Matt swings at my club head speed it looks as though he is doing a 50 yards chip. This is not my favourite looking iron but the results are pretty good for an SGI iron, I can see why some people would want to combo these as the long irons with a more compact irons for the mid and short irons. For most average golfers I am not sure if I would game the 6i - 24 degrees is 2 degrees less than my 5i which is my longest iron. I would suggest carrying 7i-PW in the Cobra Speedzone, 3 wedges, 3 hybrids (say 25, 22 & 19 degrees), fairway and driver.

Id like the see matty play a full round of golf with his average swing speed and see how he scores compared to his full speed game.

These kind of clubs are great for seniors. But a wide variety of golfers can play these.

TXG Tour Experience Golf... noticed you guys work a lot with the correct ball for a player. You mentioned the Mizuno RB Tour X golf balls. Will that suit a lot of players with a swing speed of around 85mph or it's purely swing/individual player driven?

Here's a thought on strong lofted irons. Pros, and low handicappers have much more forward shaft lean at impact, so they're delofting the club a huge amount compared to us mortals who have a near upright or maybe a couple of degrees shaft lean. Have you compared the actual loft at impact of experienced golfers vs. amateurs with strong lofted game improvement irons? I'm going to bet that most amateurs are getting more loft with strong irons than pros are getting with normal lofts.

I don’t know if you’ll see this if someone does, doesn’t the cobra speed zone come with a kbs 90 shaft? Will that respond like the nipon you used? I swing 80 mph, 6 iron.

You stated that the height of a six iron should be correlated to the club head speed for a average swing speed in a proper club fitting. Does the correlation still exist with a much faster swing speed?

So why wouldn’t you use these? What are you trading off to get the forgiveness and distance??

i can hit that speedzone 6 iron 220 yards but same trajectory as my 3 iron

Moving forward do you think you boys will test, label and compare clubs at their loft level rather than their number on the head? If companies do not get together and figure out a standard i feel thats going to be the way it will have to be

Problem with these, is that the majority of the players that would gane this likely don't focus on their ball enough...They're playing things like Pinnacles, hard low spinning balls to begin with... not ideal
