Unboxing the Cold Steel Irish Blackthorn Walking Stick that I got at Midwayusa same place. Arrived quick brand new out of the box. I got this for over $40 good budget. Brand new, solid, heavy duty, has some weight to it, easy to use. For over $40 it's worth buying. Great for hiking and jogging. No problems at all. I'm satisfied with my purchase once more. Thanks again.

At $40 it’ll be imitation blackthorn. Real blackthorn is quite a bit more expensive.

That is no walking stick !!! It is a brick bat , a pole axe !!! A clumsy over sized thing to carry & walk with !!! Take it on an extended walk , & then tell me what it was like to deal with !!! Want a weapon , get a weapon , want a walking stick get a walking stick !!!

Only blackthorn canes made in Shillelagh can be called a Shillelagh of which I have two. Blackthorne is my surname. It’s not even made from Blackthorn, it’s plastic.

It's made of polypropylene built to last. This is a much larger size and has some weight to it.

@@Bates1960 Polypropylene is a plastic that's used to make everything from rugs to sour cream containers. It's generally considered to be one of the safer plastics. Still plastic, probably cost less than $2 to make.

There I no such place, a what you call a shillalah is actually a club but a blackthorn stick is a fighting stick with usually a knobs or rootball handle

I got it for the good budget. It's a reproduction. They made a plastic version. Overall for over $40 great for the price.
