I really wish Colourpop would do a SATIN formula and get away from the glitter. Satin shadows are so flattering.

They used to have a satin in the super shocks and it was my favorite. The glitter is way over the top in almost all of the shades now.

Exactly! I'm pretty new to CP and ordered a ton of things in the last 2 months of last year bc I was so inspired by their colours. But their shimmery ones are all full of sparkles and I have gotten used to satin shades, esp for everyday makeup. It also has a lot of fallout so an hour after I do my makeup, my undereye area is full of sparkles, even though I start with my eyes and clean up my face afterwords. Tbh I find myself more inspired to do swatches on my arm than actually do makeup.

The whole no glitter concept feels a little too advanced for Colourpop unfortunately. The brand somehow gets less sophisticated every year.

I would LOVE if they would stick a supershock in there in place of a pressed glitter. Some of my pallets have a supershock and they are my most favorite pallets.

supershocks need to be sealed :( they dry out easily so I feel like it wouldn't be a good idea in a palette unless it was airtight somehow.

@@calicofishy definitely not for eye use it even says it on the website! If the glitter gets in your eye it can scratch your cornea (or eye in general) and you can get an infection or go blind.

@@personal8996 I would personally maybe use it as a fun highlighter or like you said on your cheeks! I would just avoid it around the eye. It’s frustrating because they r really pretty but can damage your vision if it gets in your eye :(

I’m a self taught makeup artist and only ever do makeup mostly on myself and I don’t get scared to used pressed glitters near my eyes as I do use a glitter glue. it’s all personal preference

@@gene5301 I'm the same way, but I feel like because soooo many people aren't comfortable doing that they should at least be sold on their own. That way people that like them can have them, and the majority of people who don't like them aren't forced to buy them in a palette (especially a quad)

@@melisalinh2657 ngl I went yikes as soon as I read your comment >< I just honestly think it's kinda funny that they put them in eye palettes tho when they're not safe for the eye area. I think a better way to go about it would be making glitter quads though, so people who like glitters can combine that with their eyeshadow palettes... I think nabla has some. I just think it's annoying to add them to quads especially, bc there's only 4 shadows on those and so they limit the amount of shadows people who dislike glitters can use to three which essentially makes it not worth it. Especially if they're going to release more quads in this format that are not part of collabs. okay I went a lil rambly sorry >< I just have such a strong opinion on glitters bc I've read way too many horror story on them AND bc I kinda have been waiting for colourpop to release quads as I find them quite useful just like their nine pan palettes but knowing they have a glitter turns me away from buying them ngl.

I could never understand why they always put glitters in their palettes especially in small palettes like this?! Thank you for video and swatches. I don’t need those palettes though when I saw their packaging I thought that maybe I should buy one of them because I like small palettes. But this is just a waste of space in the palette.

I'm guessing they incorporate the glitter because they have that in their inventory and want to use it up. And probably the glitter is cheaper for them to incorporate versus a pressed pigment or satin shade. But I absolutely hate glitter, so I avoid most palettes with glitter unless there are more matte/satin shadows.

@@bluemackeral I make sure to put a glitter glue or a primer down so they stick on as much as possible. Never had a problem with glitters falling and going into my eye. If anything they've just fallen onto my face as fallout. But I quite the look of being a glittery disco ball 🤷‍♀️🤣

Another collection where they depend on the collaborator more than the product, in my opinion. I feel like the raw beauty Kristi palette was exciting for colourpop but this is just a mere cash grab for those who love animal crossing. This’ll be a no for me. I do like their move to four shade palettes but that’s it. Cute but a no.

They’re not FDA approved but still commonly used for eyeshadow. The matte shades likely just use a dye pigment that isn’t considered “safe” because it stains the skin, which they FDA says is fine for lips but not for eyes. Every brand does this now.

I looked closely at the BOX, it doesn’t say ‘eyeshadow palette’, it has ‘pressed powder palette’. Now, that’s just me with a quick look at part of the product packaging. I have no idea what is stated anywhere else but usually ‘palette’ translates in our heads as eyeshadow first (imo). Sleek marketing tactics...

I was so insanely excited and was ready to buy the whole collection, now I only want the supershock and even that is not a must have. Everything looks like stuff they already have released. I was considering a couple quads just cause I wanted to want this collection but I know they look just like their 9-pans I already have and now knowing they all have a pressed glitter.. I hope they do a round 2 and listen to everyone's feedback.

Watching this video after actually playing and watching others play animal crossing makes me appreciate the effort and thought that went into these products, especially the packaging. Seriously so many little cute things that might be easily looked over but if you know more about the game you can really appreciate it. I do wish I had picked up one or two things from this collection back then, but I know it's also not the end of the world. Product wise there's certainly a lot of changes or tweaks to be considered, I think most people can agree with that, but the packaging and such otherwise makes these feel so so special. I'm really happy these kinds of collections get that sort of attention and time put into them.

Getting it all. Not ashamed to say it. I wish there were new gel liners in this collection though! A color specific to each quad would have been so cute! Normally I don't care about the glitters, I know many hate them, I just don't care either way, it never effects whether I'd buy a palette, but in this case, if it was a regular quad release with a glitters I would pass. So my next obvious observation is quads are the perfect set up for Pokemon collabs!!! Little yellow Pikachu, green Bulbasaur, blue Squirtle, pink Jigglypuff, purple Koffing!!!! I'd die!!!

The collection is cute! I really wish for the smaller palettes they wouldn’t put pressed glitters or the mattes with glitter. But since most times the glitter blends away from the mattes, I can deal with those. But hate taking up a space for a pressed glitter with only 4 shades.

this collab is NOT getting a lot of love, but it’s a SERIOUS collectors item for those of us who are dedicated ACNH players and colourpop buyers. It may be a cash grab, but it’s a damn smart one and i might be the only fan of pressed glitters on the entire internet 🙃

I agree with your comments about if you love color poppy will probably love the collection either way. When you do your arm swatch I hope you would consider putting some primer or foundation on your arm before you Swatch because it does not let the color come through very well on an arm without a foundation. Appreciate you.

Darn it with the pressed glitters. I love the cute. I love me my animal crossing. The packaging is what I like more than the actual makeup, so despite wanting the whole of it to appease my inner collector, I'm gonna skip. I really really wish those quads were pressed glitter-less. Oh well.

Love the theme and packaging! I’ll definitely pick up the lip tints (love those), a blush and possibly a palette or two. Like others, it’s frustrating that 1/2 the shares have glitter. I really wish CP would offer the glitter shades separately so those who love them can still get them, and for those who don’t use them, we’d have other options. I’m thinking in particular about the BYOP concept, where you can mix & match singles and create a custom palette that suits your individual needs. Overall, it’s a cute collection!

additional comparisons for those intrested: the matte pink in 5 star island is alot like poodle from 'ooh lala!' and 'truly madly deeply' the matte with gold glitter is very similar to humble brag (i have this in a custom pallette so idk what other ones it appears in)

I love GLITTER ✨ each time I see glitter it makes me happy for some reason. I used to hate it to be honest and I now find it funny that I see every comment disliking the glitter. These are cute but I said I don’t need more eyeshadow lol.
