No added rules are needed in creating this card. The token “walker” is no different than creating a food, clue or treasure token. The reminder text is nice but not needed since there is only one token named Walker.

But those tokens are defined in the rules: Rule 111.10 refers to predefined tokens. Rule 111.10a defines a treasure token 111.10b defines a Food token. 111.10c defines a gold token. And clue tokens are defined in the Rule 701.36a under the "Investigate" rule. So either Walker tokens will be defined as a new 111.10d rule. Or independently under a whole new "Walking Dead" rule subsection.

I'm gonna tell you like I told the single person that had a problem with my negan deck only because it was a walking dead card. They ruled them to be legal, therefore they are. If you refuse to play against it the only person keeping you from a game a magic is yourself. None of them are even remotely overpowered

That being said if I have to put up Negan because people don't like it your other 3 choices are kess, Magda or marwyn, all of which can end the game in a few turns. Negan is just durdley sacrifice jank. Sure there's a revel in riches in there but meh

I’m new to magic.. literary my first weak. There are tons of cards that are subjective when read off the card.. with that being said.. this one is pretty simple lol

Another cool combo is having Darryl trigger Defense of the Heart to go and get a 2 creature combo like Avenger of Zendikar and Craterhoof Behemoth.

the combo was Aether Flash and he was not complaining as he was stating a clear obvious thing about the walker tokens as their power and toughness are not defined on the card and they are not found in any official rule book

I wondered how they would print Rick, you know, with his gun and all. It's there, just in the holster hidden behind some text. Actual real life guns, just a thing they said has no place in the Magic universe.

They released Rick, I think you can make out his gun in the holster in the art (kind of blocked by text). But WotC goes against everything they once say. They said unique cards not available from packs was wrong. Than they brought back Exclusive Buy-a-box promos. "But these aren't competitive viable". They print Nexus of fate....Years later with Zendikar rising, they stop unique Buy-a-box promos. Maro says that the players weren't happy and cards exclusive cards shouldn't be Buy-a-box. Less than a week later they announce TWD cards...

"Walker Token" works like "food token" or "treasure token" where they are defined in the rules, not on the cards

@@Thalarion This was recorded before they announced the triangle sticker. Regardless I think it is a terrible cop-out. That is the point I made. They need to make a rule to define "Walker token" now. They shouldn't make brand new rules to incorporate different IPs in their game. In silver border? Sure. But not black border.

I agree that the cards should have better described what a Walker token is. But as for the card itself I think Daryl is pretty bad, even with the synergy of Aether Flash

@@KingofJank Negan is good as a commander idea, and Glenn is ok to slot in, card draw is card draw, but Michonne and Daryl and really lackluster. (Rick is kinda busted, ngl, this is Legacy and commander playable, thats scary to think about)

@@destertae1996 Negan idea is a good concept. And I think Glenn could be disgusting with the right cards (Like attach equipments after blockers declared), but Rick is the real issue in that he can make Humans super viable in many formats... The fact that I just typed in that sentence in relation to MTG, makes me sad.

@@KingofJank HAHAHAHAHAH, yeah, if wizards had waited till the next Innistrad block and printed these the way they did the Godzilla cards, no one would have even remotely cared. This was a really bad stuffup by them, I have nothing against the cards, just how Wizards approached the entire crossover, looking forward to adding Rick into my Jirina deck though xD

Imagine, they have a universe of unlimited possibilities and they have to tap into a burnt out soap opera that should have been cancelled years ago. It goes to show the actual level of creativity they have. The only thing worth a damn in Magic are the actual artists. The rest is trash. They are even banking off a stolen idea, EDH, which they couldnt even conceive. Magic needs to be decentralized and stripped from Wizards and Hasbro.

It really is disappointing. This opens the door for so much worse. I was worried when WotC showed special interest in EDH... "2020 is the year of Commander"...the best part of the format was making cards work that were designed for other formats, not the opposite: Standard cards that were designed for EDH.

I disagree, because if people spend their money on this crap then they'll think it's okay to keep creating products like this. Next thing you know they'll start printing Marvel Universe card's, and Disney will get involved

I have not watched the walking dead, but do they call the things zombies in the show? Or they totally avoid it to call them zombies? That may be an excuse that maybe the right holders said "we don't want you to call our walkers zombies in any way" so they can't reference that walkers are zombie tokens

Cold hard cash man. Thats all they want. It's been decided they wont be banned in EDH too. I don't want to play be dramatic...but I won't be surprised about future sets for the avengers and Star wars and any other big franchise. Apparently there was a leak that said "Harry Potter" was planed as a tie in for the wizard set next year, but WotC pulled out due to JK Rowling's beliefs on some topics...rumors, but believable at this point.

@@zackzack9341 well just like it's understood that it is untap. Upkeep, draw, 1st main, combat, second main, end step, walker tokens are 2/2 zombie, much like draeing to 7 cards, 1st player doesn't draw, unless multiplayer, a walker token is a 2/2 zombie

How is it elitist to be upset about cards that were only printed once in a timed exclusive set? If you didn't buy the set and got this card outside of the secret lair, you would have to look up what it means. Also, the official name for these cards is black border (to distinguish from white border, gold border, and silver border)
