Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 is a thought out, but also tongue and cheek, real time strategy game (RTS). In this alternate wars, take control of Soviet Forces to Command AND Conquer the Allies and the Empire of the Rising Sun. What helps make this game are the live action cutscenes, full of cameos with celebrities like George Takei. Hilarious acting, weird commander poses, this isn't your average RTS game like Warcraft III, Halo Wars, or Age of Empires. Now let's see what my Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 gameplay has in-store!

Zash Trolosaurus Wouldn't have worked in the new movie. They focused more on IT's true nature (as a formless eldritch horror) and Curry's New York clown just wouldn't have fit; he's too human. Not to mention that we'd never have seen Skarsgard's Pennywise, which was fantastically unhinged.

Red Alert 3 was a response to EA pushing the overly serious tone of Generals and realizing that was a failure. They allowed them to return to corny form in RA3 simply because their ideas of what the player base wanted were bad. Then the DRM decisions crippled the next C&C baseline game and ugh.

Alaan Franklin I loved Generals! My dormmates and I would plug our computers into our stereos just so the noise of the explosions would make the floor shake when we went all in on LAN matches. The tank battles were big, loud, and messy, just the way C&C battles should be. And each faction had a distinct play-style. C&C 3 was a great use of its source material. I loved how dark and moody the game was, despite the lack of scale on the battlefield. Then the series took a big shit with C&C4 and its miserable, not fun unit caps and no base building. Alliances is what you get when you beat a corpse enough to get a maggot to pop out.

I've heard them talk about it on the podcast. Apparently he continued with the rising sun campaign and failed spectacularly at the pearl harbour mission and got frustrated.

@Artuurs Z. In terms of gameplay, Red Alert 3 is superior. But in story, music, and art-style, RA2 is superior. Both are great games in their own right. Red Alert 3 was C&Cs last hurrah before the suits in EA decided to kill it off.

A. OMG Tim Curry's accent (also, George Takai! B. MECH SAMURI! I wants it... I love a game that doesn't take itself seriously, and remembers we're here to have fun. Riddiculous premise, over the top roles (and the actors that can fit them) and just balls to the wall insanity while still having interesting game play...it's the perfect counter balance to all the OMG SERIOUS! games we play.

Glad to see you enjoy playing RA3, as well as your reactions to the absurdity that this game is. 46:16 The moment you subscribed to "Just Twinblade. Only Twinblade. Nothing but Twinblade. No need for strategy, fancy tactics, cost efficiency or self preservation. We Twinblade until we or our enemies fall!" 1:33:12 When you don't under stand how Line of Sight/Fire works. 1:33:29 When you discover a basic feature of the game... at the end level. 1:34:13 I'd say this is a jab at your ability to play the game, but then again you survived the rest of the campaign so this says more about your enemies than your ability to command. 1:35:05 Rejoice, for Jesse has discovered Anti-Aircraft!

This is one of my personal favorites when it comes to games. I know on paper it's not as good as Starcraft 2 and it is slightly less wacky than RA2, but for some reason it really clicks with me. I am always glad to see streamers give this game some deserved love.

Meewec sry for necroing, but EA bought Westwood in 1998, two years before RA2 was released. Furthermore, RA3 was dev'd by EA LA and released in 2008, five years after EA killed WW in early 2003. I hate EA as much as anybody and would loooooove to see it burn, but we gotta stay factually accurate

I can't even make it work on Win7, i like RTS games a lot and i was excited to try out a red alert game after buying this one on a steam sale, but alas it was not to be as it seems it doesn't like modern systems at all. Wondering how Jesse got his to play at all.

Works fine for me on Win10/X64. I'm using the EA Origin version so if you aren't then maybe that's the issue? The one that annoyed me is the earlier games. Red Alert wouldn't work at all, and Red Alert 2 works but it won't let you tab out to Windows.

BullseyeHun, I'm running a RX 390 with the latest drivers and it's working for me. At least through the first mission as I haven't had the chance to play more than that. Only got back into it because of The Red Cox.

I love how the empire decided to hit Linengrad first, even though it is west of Moscow... And that japan waaay east of moscow. So apparently the empire either went over the artic circle, or all around africa, india, europe, and china, all without anyone noticing.
