This is probably one of the best competition chicken instructional clips I've seen up to now.! Clear instructions, detailed information and in such a well presented manner. You’re giving the competition guys a run for their money with this one!
I can't believe I missed this one. I think this is the recipe I tried when I met you in Omaha at the Church competition. That was some bad azz chicken. I like chicken thighs a little dark like that. Great video Kent. Keep up the great work my friend 👍
Excellent, job Kent at making those competition chicken thighs and explaining how to do it. I will bet you they were awesome tasting after they were done. Also you showed great knife skills and you had hands of steel , I probably would have cut through the skin. LOL AWESOME JOB MY FRIEND. GOD BLESS YOU.!!!!!
Joe, thank you so much ! I wish I could say I learned how to do that overnight, but I cut through quite a few skins learning !....lol ! I appreciate your kind words !
Damn Kent!! that is an awesome job!! can't wait to see how the comp turns out. are you going to film it? or some of it? Those thighs looked great. good cook brother!!
@@daddydutchbbq thanks sire .... Trying to learn some comp tricks ... Never been good at Chicken. Ribs are my thing, pork and Brisket I have done ok with but chicken is my worst. I want to get back into Comps and build a new team since the Porkstars got split up, but I still have plenty to learn. Ribfests don't pay great but I hold my own in those 🤣😂🤣
Professional looking competition thighs. The best I placed was 10th out of 80 here at the annual Pig Jig. Competing for years the worst I placed was 47th out of 60. Its like taking a shower with a rain coat on if you don’t take the time to prep the thighs like you did. Well done my friend for the easy to understand tutorial. Thanks for sharing your knowledge Kent 👌🏻👍🏻🤙🏻🤟🏻
Jabin, Thanks for stopping by. I like sharing what I do, is it perfect? Probably not or I would win every comp I enter, but I enjoy the heck out of It! Cheers Jabin !
Your knife skills are beautiful to witness. Presentation, tips and construction.. something new was gratefully learned. 👏❤ But, most of all... JACK!!!😍 He's a competition winner for me.. no doubt about it. Lotsa love your way. xoxo
Chicken has been my nemesis in the past too! Ever since I’ve started doing this my chicken scores are right at the top consistently! Give it a try and please let me know how it works for you ! My email is dutch1@premieronline.net
I think that it was James who taught me to dip the meat into the sauce to eliminate the brush strokes on the meat and it looks just clean and skinny and thick. So try dipping the thighs into the sauce instead of brushing them with a brush.
Chris, I hear ya on the prep time. Normally I prep 16 pieces to get 6 I like ! I have a little practice at it , about 6 years ! Thanks for stopping by! Good luck at your comp!
@@daddydutchbbq Kim and I are doing well. We are always way too busy, but we do what we can to keep up with everything that goes on. How have you been doing?
Hey brother those thighs didn’t look to bad. A little dark but you could really see those brush strokes. I suggest dip them in your sauce once you thin it out! Great video!
Rich's River Smokers West Virginia agreed ! Yeah dipping will be a lot better ! Thanks for the advice Rich! Greatly appreciated! I got a little heavy handed with 5he rub ! Thanks brother! Say hi to Katie for me !
James, I will honestly have to look that up. If I recall correctly it is a mini loaf pan I purchased from Walmart. I appreciate you stopping by. I'll look for a name on the pan when I get home tonight ! Thanks for watching!
