CONNECTING NATURAL GAS PIPE TO NEW FURNACE 

Thank you so much!! 🎉The HVAC installer put the corrugated gas line inside the furnace housing, which is a huge no-no. One can’t even trust the HVAC contractor it’s just best to do it yourself.

You should keep the pipe dope and Teflon tape away from the end of the pipe to prevent accidentally getting it into the gas valve burners etc,

What kind of furnace is that? That looks like a Carrier. That's a good furnace. I just installed one of those today. As another comment said. A good pipe wrench and a crescent wrench makes the job super easy

Should you put the union inside the case for when you have to service those? Can you remove the union throught he housing?
