It hurts my knee just seeing Ernie work. Last May 14 (almost a yr. ago) I was moving a sm. garden flag to a rocky area. I had to slam my ft. down twice to get it in. Immediate pain. MRI showed a complex meniscus tear, bone contusion and a Baker's cyst. Nightmare, painful injury. 6 mos. I later had knee surgery, all over a $4.99 Walmart flag. It still hurts!

Hey Friend, Happy Friday. I enjoy watching you make progress on your garden. your garden is so beautiful and full of life. 😊 I got my mom a watering can with lights for her garden a year or two ago and she loves it. The funny thing about it is that my dad ran it over with a lawn mower as soon as she put it up so he had to buy her the same exact one but it was still from me 🙄🙄😅😢 So make sure Ernie remembers where it is. 😅

You and Ernie are doing such a beautiful job with that yard. I like the idea of planting larger plants but I am annoyingly always trying not to spend too much money so I keep propagating my plants and sticking to mostly perennials. I have to be patient but I like to watch them grow.

Hi, everything’s seems to be going well “ in the gardens”. Now for information that you will bow down and thank me… your neighbors too. Please read all about Blue Marlin Birdhouses. Farmers have used these houses for years to control mosquitoes. The more holes ( for birds go in) the better mosquitoes are stopped around property. There are so many designs that are adorable. The purpose is when birds migrate from Canada to South America… the blue m Arlin sends out a Scout for places for birds to have homes babies. They feed the mosquitoes to the mamas, etc. The roofs have to be white to get attention of birds flying. The holes are Tiney a specific in diameter to keep Oreditors out. The are on a pole that slides up about Ten Feet. In past they were made of wood but now you can get rust resistant white metal and it will slide down easy for cleaning once a year. Do some reading and get one on line ASAP… takes a year before the birds recognize etc as the Scout comes one time. You might notice gourds painted white on farms. Especially Mennonite farms. Since you like horses so much Ch. you must go to Shelbyville, TN. It isn’t very far from you. There are all kinds of Shows. Tennessee Walkers in particular. Site to see. I known you will enjoy looking and watching competitive. Dogwoods grow well in Tennesse as they are State Tree. Yes they have PINK. Mosquitoes do not like Lavender. Wipe apple cider vinegar around ankles, neck, covered sleeves light color, no perfume on body and less sugar in body the better. Hair Spray.. nope. Have a few pretty containers on patio with sugar water inside… mosquitos, flies take drinks and go to La La Land. lol. Another entertaining idea we do down here…. About 2/4 hours before a party get smoke bomb, or bug spay yard area where people congregate outside. Yep… Al’s O about 2? Hours before your party water yard and beds… when guests arrive Everton is perky and smiling. My information that’s to Officers Wives Garden Club of USMC. More tips coming about living outside an gardening in South.

I love how you keep things looking groomed but natural. Your yard is just fantastic. I realize how much work you both put in but it will pay off as things mature.

Anna, I also live in East Tennessee and last year my crepe myrtle did the same I cut it to the ground and by the end of summer it was 5 feet tall. They seem like they like the severe pruning. The yard is looking great! God bless u guys!

Actually on my birthday I had a baby! Best present! 4 yrs. earlier I had a baby on my husband's birthday. Yep, I did it twice. Very rare & unusual. My boy's thought every kid had a birthday w/their parents. LOL! I want a light up watering can! I deserve it, don't you think?

Ohh goodness, Ernie works as hard as you. About the hose, I got one from Hoselink. BUT it only reaches 82ft. Yours is amazing. 150 feet, Woww! The garden looks wonderful. 😊

Your backyard is rapidly turning into a paradise. You have given me so much inspiration! I have MS and have a difficult time shopping so my brother picked up flowers for me video chat. We live in sw PA so it's not quite time to plant yet but I have three flats of geraniums, supertunias and sunbathers so far. I also plant for 12 stones in our local cemetery. Keep up with your awesome vision!

I wander about those two trees when they get bigger dealing with the leaves and even falling over the fence in the neighbors yard. I have large trees, and the leaves can be a pain.

I planted two single trunk watermelon Tuscarora last year and I regretted it soon after. I wish I would have went with the multi trunk. 😒
