My first daughter was born at 28 weeks and 6 days. 990g. She stayed at NICU for 3 months. She’s almost 6 years old now. And now I am at the the same hospital again for my second one. He is 30 weeks today. Trying to keep him in my belly as long as we can now.
The day I watched this I went into preterm labour at 32 weeks and 6days. I'm grateful this video was uploaded at such a great time. My daughter is healthy and doing an amazing job in the ICU.
I'm 2 days away to my 27th week pregnancy and this is my 1st baby as well.. been taking progesterone since 6th week of pregnancy because i was told the chances of having a pre-term labor is very high. My cervix last time it was checked was only 2.1cm..i hope we can reach full term. ❤
I’m 29weeks pregnant today. I woke up to go to the bathroom per usual and felt a massive cramp right above pubic bone/the spot right under my bump and pain throughout the entire private area, enough I bent over to lean on my bed. I immediately started taking notes/thinking of a plan (it was 3am). Turns out I just had a really hard bowel movement but it definitely hurt and felt like the contractions I had with my first! Preterm labor makes me so anxious
I had my son at 31 wks. Not preterm labor. I had severe pre eclampsia, my son was diagnosed with IUGR. He was 3 lbs 4 oz and was in NICU for 2 months. He’s doing really well now. Almost 2!
I had 9mm cervix with light spotting at 31 weeks. I was considered high risk for preterm, given the steroid injections, hospitalized and put on bedrest but ironically they decided to induce me at 38 weeks for other reasons. Made it to full term!
I went into spontaneous preterm labor at 34 weeks after getting the TDAP. I had no risk factors whatsoever, and afterwards no doctor was interested in determining the cause.
TDAP is really important for helping protect your baby against pertussis which can be extremely serious or fatal in babies, with cases on the rise in different parts of the world. I hope that you and your baby are doing okay.
My pregnancy ended up being Preterm labor gave birth to my baby son three months ago I had him at 30 weeks and 6 days he almost made it to 31 weeks I wish tho lol but he been in the special care at the hospital for a month in a half with no problems at all which I was grateful the most hard thing was for his nurses to feed him with a bottle but they finally got him to eat from bottle and took out his feeding tube my doctor's did the best they could to keep my son in my stomach longer they kept checking on me and giving me lots of ultrasounds every 2 weeks all because I'm in the high risk pregnancy all because what happened to my first child my daughter she was born 24 weeks been in nicu for 3 months and had eye surgery she's 8 years old now and doing great both of my kids are super blessed. I guess you can't stop for a baby to come out early just glad my son stayed in my stomach for at least 30 weeks.
OMG! I dropped last night/ today and I’m at 34 weeks. As soon as I saw you posted this today, I hopped on and watch every second. Im so thankful! Thank you Diana!
I am so happy that you posted this video Diana! The video and the comments gave me so much hope and courage. I started preterm labour at exactly week 32. I felt a constant pain in my lower abdomen and a dull pain in my back. As it was my first pregnancy, I didn’t realise something was wrong for 1 whole day. Finally when I went to the hospital I was very worried about having my baby early. But my Ob-gyn gave me tocolytics to stop the contractions, and steroids to help with the baby’s lungs. My cervix had dilated to 2.6cms. Finally I delivered a healthy baby boy and week 36!
Hi Diana ☺️ Just had my first baby boy after 5 girls on Saturday he's currently in the NICU due to high blood sugar but he's doing better and it's been under control and he was unexpectedly smaller ... they told me he would be 7 and 1/2 lbs but he was 4lbs💙🙏
I’m really interested in exactly what Braxton hicks feel like. An in-depth video on that would be great! I’m 32 weeks today and I think I’ve felt them, but I’m not sure. They aren’t hurting too much but idk if it’s my pain tolerance or if I haven’t really felt them yet.
I'm 28 weeks today. I've been on blood thinners the last 2 weeks. I was hospitalized for 10 after experiencing sharp severe left shoulder pain left lung and back pain. The Doctors concluded that I have PE and that a small peice of my left lung had died and lost all circulation. I'm on steroids and acid reducers as well as Norcos which I am highly against but now I see why I need to take half a pill every day because the spasms are so painful. The Doctors expect to take my little boy out at 37 weeks but the air capacity that I have is becoming very limited due to his increase in size. I had my other Two kids at 38 weeks and one Miscarriage at 21 weeks so not sure what to expect this time around but praying for a Miracle ❤
The fact that you dropped this video when I literally went into preterm labor let’s me know the universe is watching over me. Currently at the hospital under 2 day observation with procardia given every 6 hours to stop contractions. Received two burning steroid shots in the rear just in case baby does come anyway that will help with lung and brain development. IV for hydration. Just an fyi for all the mommies that may be wondering I brought on my early labor with walking. I overdid it and went too far. 2.4 miles one day and 3 days later did 2.75. Both outdoors and let’s just say the summer didn’t make it any better. Started with back pain with what I would consider period like cramps. I also had lower abdomen pain that was pretty strong. It didn’t come come in waves, it was constant and kinda made standing up straight super difficult. Im set to be getting released so please send up some baby dust as I’m only 32 + 4. But Diana I just wanted to say thank you thank you thank you for all that you do. You’re so caring when it comes to providing info and I can tell you truly love helping others. Blessings to you and your family. 💕
Hope it all went okay and you and baby are doing well!! I'm 35 weeks and having those same symptoms. I think baby is gonna wait, I'm not dilating yet. But I'm on the way to hospital to get IV fluids and be monitored.
@@phoenixrising1434 everything went well thank you! I was released from the hospital after they were able to stop my contractions. They wanted to induce me at 37+4 but I just went home and started doing what I knew put me into labor in the first place. I walked around cleaned my house and by the time I made it there for induction I was already in labor. No Pitocin or anything needed. Healthy baby boy just made 9 months. Prayers for you and your little one.
I got a cerclage 3 weeks ago for a short cervix and I use progesterone suppositories nightly. So far so good, I am 25w2d today. Hoping to make it as close to full term as possible!
Hi dear This is my 3rd time with 23+ weeks In my previous pragnancies of girls there was no braxton hick before week 30 But today experiencing back pain Not like real pain but something like pinching.. M afraid of early labor 😢 What to do? How can I stop it to be done Please somebody reply me
Hi Dana. Can u do a video about cervical cerclage? I had one 3 weeks ago at 12 weeks. I would really like some more info on how to go about daily life after getting one.
Omg, you're always posting videos that are very relatable. I had a preterm birth in May 2023 and I was just 25 weeks. My baby was in the NICU after birth, but he died a few days afterwards. I'm wondering if I can carry another baby full term😭
Wow so sorry to hear that! My heart goes out to you because my daughter was born at 25 weeks and we spent 3 months in the NICU. The OBGYN & the hospital you deliver in are so important! I pray you deliver a healthy full term baby in the future ❤
@@shamsl2806 Thank you so much, and you're very much right. The hospital/doctors play a big part, because where I went in Jamaica they didn't do much to help my baby at all. I'm glad your baby girl is doing good though🎉
@@cakesbydimpy tbh I just had another baby a few weeks ago, in May, and I went full term. Thanks for the question because everything ended up working out great this time and I have a handsome, healthy baby boy🤗
Can someone please give me some advice??? Per L&D I’ve been in preterm labor for about a month. I’ll be 36 weeks this week. They always send me home because I don’t dilate. HOWEVER… My cervix refuses to open. I was induced three times with my first at 42 weeks, labored 25 hours, and still had to have a C-section. They’re telling me with this baby I just have to either medicate or deal with the pain unless our health takes a turn. Why make me suffer? He’s measuring a week ahead and I’ll be 37 weeks next week.
Thanks for the tips you keep on giving us, I welcomed my princess now we are finishing 5 days, I wish you all the best all pregnant mothers out there and thanks to you who keeps on advising us be blessed dear
Had to rush to L&D yesterday after I thought my water had started to break (I’m 28 weeks) at work. Turns out it was pee. It truly did not feel like I was peeing, but now I understand why so many women confuse peeing themselves with their water breaking! So relieved that baby isn’t trying to make her way out yet :)
Ty so much for these videos. I’ve learned so much from you! I’m currently 24 weeks pregnant, got a cerclage about 10 days ago and now I’m in bed all day getting out only for using the bathroom. My cervix was 25 mm from which 10 I was already dilated in the moment of the checkup and this is how I got the emergency cerclage. My amniotic fluid is in normal range. But I do experience vaginal pain and pubic pain sometimes and when I do my doc gave me a suppository to use which calms me a bit. I do have a fear that I might give birth very early but I am trying not to think about it. What is your opinion about it? Do you think I can carry this pregnancy to the end?
Only the Lord knows just strictly bed rest as I am doing now have been in the hospital for 3months come August am 27weeks and I believe I can make it to 37weeks if not more don’t think of preterm tell yourself your going straight through with your child
This video came out at the right time since I'm 29 weeks now and having concerns about the different types of stomach discomfort. I was worried that it could be something more than just braxton hicks (which I'm hoping it isn't). Thanks for always making educational videos for us parents especially ftm like myself. Appreciate it!
Thank you so much for this video, it’s give me so much hope. I am 22 weeks pregnant with short cervix and it’s open 1.7 cm with a high risk preterm labor and I been using progesterone every day and see OB weekly. The comment also give me so much hope and with a healthy baby even going through rough pregnancy. Thank mama for sharing.
Those last few affirming words at the end of the video brought tears to my eyes. I needed to hear that. I'm 28 weeks 6 days today, first time mom expecting a baby girl
I’m 36 weeks and I’m feeling symptoms of prodromal labor. The pain always comes around the same time every night (2 am) and they last for about 3 hours. The contractions are very painful. Is there anything I can do to stop/cope with the pain? I’m so tired of this. 😢
My son was almost born preterm at 32 weeks with no risk factors, out of the blue. Luckily the tocolytics did their job and I went home dilated to 6cm, just in time. I went on to deliver the day before my due date! Yes I somehow spent nearly 8 weeks just walking around 6cm dilated.
My water broke at 33 weeks 5 days randomly while chatting on the phone…I sat at the hospital for 2 more days until they induced me. I had painful contractions for weeks before my water broke and just had a hunch the baby would be coming soon lol I have had 9 kids and this was the first time my water broke on its own. She is now 11 days old and in the NICU still and will be for at least another week as she can’t breast or bottle feed yet….she tries, but it is entering her lungs
There is nothing wrong with delivering a month early what the heck r u talking about. Babies r fully developed at 36 weeks and r more then fine to be born then. Dr.’s even say that.
My daughter went into labor and had her twins at 29 weeks…they tried to stop labor but she kept dilating…babies were breech so she had c section an girls were each 3 pounds….long stay in NICU….now she is 36 weeks pregnant so far no pre term labor….new studies prove progesterone does not prevent preterm labor. They just see her more often
Hi Diana please give me advise about having vaginal birth after 2 c cections risk ,I am about 38 weeks pregnant so they gave me apointment in my 39 weeks to have c cection but I couldn't accept it I want to try tha vaginal birth my last c cection of my second boy was 12 years ago so do you think that staying 12 years that help me or can I try it please give me quick answer almost I have only one week 😢
thank you for this video a bit scared myself about preterm labor I was recently told I have uterine fibroids and there is a chance of preterm labor I'm trying not to think too much of it right now considering I'm only 10 almost 11 weeks tomorrow. hearing just because there is a chance doesn't mean it will always happen was very reassuring to hear. I would love to see maybe a video on uterine fibroids.
Oh man! I definitely needed this video. I’m almost 34 weeks with baby #3 and all the signs and symptoms of this pregnancy are very different from my 2 boys. I am experiencing Braxtons at 22 weeks, with my boys it wasn’t until I was 30 weeks. Even then, they were mild, now I can barely get out of bed from Braxtons and back pain, groin pain, sciatica pain, the list goes on. Pregnancy pillow doesn’t help so my OB said unfortunately all the discomfort may not go away until after baby girl is born. Also been having lightening crotch which I also did not experience with my last pregnancies until I was 37 weeks. Hopefully none of this is a sign or indication of preterm.
You're explaining exactly what I'm currently feeling. I also never experienced these with my two boys and now eith the girl at 31 weeks I'm worried that I might go into preterm labor. I'm trying to hold on and not make a huge fuss of it.😢
Very helpful video as my cervical length is less than a cm but the good thing I have in a cerclage and my internal OS us dilating and funnel at 2.1cm at only 27 weeks
I’m 38weeks but I still have exams for a week but I don’t know why my legs shots down and I have this kinda beat under my tommy like a heartbeat and it’s been like two months I visited the hospital for ANC so I don’t know if the beats are proper and my leg shooting down are proper?
As a retired OB nurse and mom of 6 (5were preterm early by 3 wks, 4.5 wks, and three were 7 weeks early. I had a kidney issue that wasn’t found and corrected until I delivered my 5th. That was corrected and the last was early because of an abruption and a few days later preeclampsia. There are so many reasons they decide to join us early
I really appreciate your videos and find them informative. I just found out at about 32 weeks that my baby has duodenal atresia, which is causing me to have polyhydramnois. I was told I am at a higher risk for preterm labor, so the timing of this video was perfect!
