The fact that these cops don’t want to talk says enough. It’s like you said, how do they get hated by the community. They’re supposed to protect and serve, not harass and fine for no reason. Probably they are being used by some local politicians, the police should not be letting themselves be used for stuff like this.

I don't know the laws in California but in the state that I live in that would be considered entrapment. For example you cannot set up a DUI checkpoint in front of a bar or a short distance from it. The ticket would be dismissed instantly if you chose to fight it in court.

For those living outside the US, I think I can clear up what happened here. You’ll notice that the man receiving the ticket owns a Lamborghini. The little man with a lot of power doesn’t own a Lamborghini. Therein lies the problem. I hope this explains things.

That officer was horrible and disrespectful. Could you imagine just trying to walk away from or drive off from an officer while they are trying to talk to you? I remember getting pulled over a long time ago driving to work in my Celica GT-S that had the factory TRD muffler on it. The cop pulled me over for a loud exhaust, claimed my license was medically suspended (it wasn't, I had proof at home), and that I was speeding (I wasn't). I was simply following traffic driving to work. I wound up in cuffs in the back of the cruiser and they also threatened to tow the car. Another officer arrived on the scene who I recognized as a guy I went to highschool with that I was friends with. I wound up having to explain the medical requirements for me to drive and that it's handled by the state medical board upon receiving a mailed in letter that has a doctors approval, which again is at home. After that I had to tell them the muffler tip literally says "Toyota" on it as it's made by them as a factory option. Eventually they let me go (with three tickets) and I went to court a few weeks later to dispute the tickets with the medical letter of approval. The judge took one look at it, laughed, and dismissed all the tickets on the spot and told me I was free to go. He asked me if I was being serious about the story I told being put in cuffs. Of course the cop was not there and neither was my friend. Interestingly, the part where I was detained was left out of the officers report, so I filed a complaint against the officer. I had taken pictures of my wrists after the incident because the cuffs were so on so tight they left noticeable red marks and my right wrist had a bruise on it the day after. Showed those to the court appointed attorney who showed them to the judge. No idea if he was disciplined or not, but with it being New York State, my guess is no. My highschool buddy likely saved me from having to wrongfully go to jail and get my car towed. Cops not knowing every law is fine and well, but they shouldn't be allowed to write wrongful tickets for being ignorant to the laws they're supposed to enforce.

I was stopped for a DUI in Naples, FL even though I don't drink alcohol. Once the cop realized I was sober, he issued a ticket for wreckless driving. I was just leaving the restaurant's parking lot going 20mph in a Suzuki. I complained to my congressman and the police chief. They said there was a DUI quota that had to be met by the officer. This is another reason I left the US never to return. Not that I would, but you can go 100mph through a school zone in Koh Samui while drunk and never get a ticket.

I would have pulled up next to those officers, got out, and started talking to them. When the police give me a ticket, and they are absolutely wrong, I ensure that they are subpoenaed, and then when the ticket is dismissed, I then request to the judge that the officer be required to take training so they don't continue to make mistakes. I also filed a complaint against the officer. Look if you don't do anything but fight the ticket, or even just pay it, then nothing changes. Put the pressure back onto the police. When they get too many complaints, it triggers investigations. Push back people!

That ticket will be thrown out because the judge can't enforce it unless the car is registered in that state ! They won't tell you but the judge can't enforce many of things on an out of state vehicle like he can a vehicle ! Remember all of the things that vary from state to state the judge has no jurisdiction over as long as the vehicle isn't from that same state ! Writing a ticket means nothing when the state can't enforce it.

I lived in Newport Beach. That is what they do. Got pulled over for driving a suspicious vehicle. A 1974 Plymouth Duster. They said it was suspicious cause it wasn't a BMW. Like wtf! Got way too many tickets there.

Here in UK, surprise surprise it's completely different. The cops can't just hand out tickets for things like this, we actually have a government department called VOSA, if when diving along you see a VOSA inspection station, or are directed to a mobile inspector, they have the power to go over your vehicle (any vehicle) with a fine toothcomb, if they find ANY defects you better pucker up, cos it'll be expensive. For example, a simple thing like a blown bulb, you will have 7 days to get it replaced, sounds easy doesn't it, well you HAVE to take the vehicle to an authorised repairer, pay about £80 ($100) per hour labour, minimum 1 hour labour, then the part will be the most expensive bulb on the planet, then to top it all you have to get a certificate of repair stamped costing you another £100 ($120). You then have to go to the cops and hand it all in......... Time off work, repairs, stamps, fuel, parts and the inconvenience of all this means a blown bulb could cost you about £350 ($400). Oh, and if you don't get it done within the timeframe, your vehicle will be confiscated (at your cost), and then crushed and turned into beer cans. The motorist gets shafted here in this country, but if you rob a bank - - no big deal

Ludowici, Georgia... the cops there had a nice little speed trap set up there. This was back in the "Drive 55" years. Just as you drive into town, the speed dropped from 55 to 35 within the span of maybe 100 yards. No 55, 45, 35 gradual drop like you usually see. AND the 35 mph speed sigh was right by a large "Welcome To Ludowici" sign... which the local police hid behind. Thankfully I was warned ahead of time and when I saw that big welcome sign, I slowed to 35 almost instantly. Drove by slowly and gave the cop a smile & friendly wave. If you happen to be on I-10 near Marianna, Florida... watch out. This place is infamous for pulling you over for doing 3-4 mph above the posted speed.

It’s sad because most communities wouldn’t harass a group that’s obviously bringing money into their communities! When people who have the money to build their communities and strengthen their neighborhoods they push you out because the money collected through tickets is being used on not so shiny reasons and is easily lost with no accountability I hope they grow from this embarrassment!
