As an ex police officer, Damon what he said is very accurate. If the radar gun is not in the mode to pick up your speed a radar detector will not detect the radar gun. Props to his patience though.

Problem is the judge would have to take the officers word for it .... I worked with military radar systems.... you have to send and receive to get a reading ...I'd like a foia on his internal cameras ..sorry ....I no longer trust cops but this video has prompted me to buy a dash cam as I drive a 2022 busa ,2002 lightning and a pro street 78 Firebird .... I've seen when people get pulled over for what,,, a seatbelt infraction and the officer is told I have a dash cam ... The stop is over... Thanks for your service BTW ...TT

@@pluugz2917 and I'm sorry Im much inclined to believe a nice professional seasoned police officer with patience of Job over a couple younger rich influencer types who literally make a living around showing off in very expensive cars that they PURPOSEFULLY have installed radar detectors for basically only one purpose. In VA those things are illegal so even if you get by with using one you atleast can't try to use it being in your car as reason enough as to why you know you weren't speeding and he didn't clock it.

That’s literally happened to me. I completely talked my way out of everything, not even a written warning. Then my idiot friend opened his mouth and next thing i know my cars getting searched and I’m handcuffed sitting on a mound of snow on the side of the road. true......and possibly a liar. 40 yrs ago I was on my motorcycle approaching a stop light, a cop was coming from right taking a left hand turn in front of me as I was coming to a stop. The area is notorious for cops so I was not speeding, plus I was slowing down for traffic behind the light. I went through the light and saw him turn around behind me and subsequently pull me over. There's NO WAY possible I was speeding. He refused to show me the radar. From that point on I have never trusted a cops word. Ever. They're liars.

Yes Damon does speed, but doesn't mean he was speeding when the cop claimed he saw him speeding. Those cops probably dont have a lot or any modified lambos going through there. He could have left the gas station and sped up to the speedlimit, and with their cars that would still be super loud so they could easily suspect you to be speeding

Honestly we all know DDE was speeding! Don't get me wrong I always love the DDE vs police videos. Damon quibbling with the cops is hilarious. I drove through Salt Lake City once and when it got to four lanes everyone was doing 90mph at 8 am, three lanes of traffic and 90% of us were flying passed an ambulance with its lights on... another time I was in Oakland ca and I was weaving in and out of traffic at 90 mph again and a sheriff pulled up next to me and I had no idea she was there and my sister pointed her out and I looked over, saw her on her phone w that death glare and I gently tapped the brakes a few times to bring her down to the speed limit and she just kept going over the speed limit. Carryon. Don’t mess with cops bro. If they are being cool, don’t. If they are on a power trip that’s a 180 degree flip of attitude

That’s a really solid cop. Didn’t give off nervous vibes which keeps the interaction less tense. 9 times out of 10 when I get pulled over we are on edge because of how they act towards my past history and how they try violating my rights for NO reason by always coming up with a bs reason of why they should be able to take me out of the car and try and search it. Fortunately most of them understand the word NO as much as they don’t like to hear it!

I hope that Officer is in some sort of leadership position and training new guys/gals coming in on the force. He was calm, patient, polite and professional the whole way through. He is the epitome of a professional!! The younger officer at the end was great, you don’t alway have to look at people first as criminals which many cops do. 6:26 the cop is correct. It's called POP or he can use Instant On. I believe in most states, POP alone doesn't hold up in court but he said he paced you so he can issue a ticket based on that. Only high end detectors can defeat POP and if the radar is newer, probably is if it's a custom install, your detector may not be about to pick it up.

Cop was a total asshole. Lied about the speeding. Ignored a vehicle without headlights on which is way more dangerous. This cop wasn’t doing his damn job right. All he saw was luxury cars that he could cite and make money for the city that’s it. The driver did nothing wrong but was defending himself from a bogus traffic stop. Cops like that are the reasons why a lot of citizens show little respect for them.

Everything this officer said is actually pretty consistent with 3 cars speeding. From his explanation to his denial to show the radar is consistent with policy.
