Very cool. I have that same dash in that same color. Wondering if it would look good with a darker dash cover. Got any videos using black or dark gray covers on the light gray original dash? Thanks!

Unfortunately we do not have any other videos for this dash cover. Also all of the photos we have for this year, make, and model are from customers that have used the similar color of the original dash.

I live in south Georgia we don't have a lot of cool weather how does the silicone hold up over time to the summer heat and coming lose from dash.

guys great video ,but shouldnt you remove your door light switches and put them back in the dash cap ,that way if you have one go bad ,you dont have to lift the dash cap to replace them ? just wondering .have a good one

Appreciate the feedback. If our customers ever have to remove one of our dash covers because they need to work on something in the dash, we will warranty our cover when they have to remove it for the service work.

...pretty slick.... can I get it in tan for a 98 Suburban?....and does it make a difference if chunks of the original cover are missing... (former owner got busy with a screw driver taking off the front bezel)... Dave

It's generally very difficult to notice the dash under our covers. Some dash covers more than others. We have many people that use our covers to change their interior color and look. One last suggestion, if you notice your original dash color under our cover when you do the test fit (before silicone adhesive is applied) you could get a small vial of touch up paint and put that around vent openings or areas where you noticed your old dash color.

My dash is wobbly because it cracked were the top screws are is the any way I can fix this and yes I have tried metal brackets they worked until the dash got busted more

I wish you guys would make an entire dash replacement. Mine is breaking apart around the mounting screws at the vents for the defroster. I kind a hate to just cover it up. The dash is actually starting to move around when I hit bumps because it’s broken around the screw holes so putting a cover on it won’t fix that part of it. Any plans on making a complete dash? Does anyone reading these comments have Any info on where you can buy an entire new dash Even if it’s an aftermarket or custom type thing. I’m getting really desperate and I’ve got a really nice 99 Tahoe and I hate to keep looking at a cracked dash that I can’t fix I don’t like things I can’t fix lol.

OEM replacement dash boards are available but we only offer the dash covers. We have had our customers tape and secure the original broken dash prior to installing our dash cover to help cut down on the problem you are mentioning. Just mentioning this in case it is of some help to you. Thank you.

I would like to know the same thing! Whoever begins to make old school dashboards would make a killing. Especially if they begin to make it in a more durable material.

@@JackieBartonAVO You might already be familiar with our dash covers, but if not, they look and feel like the original - but they are a cover mounted over the original dash. Vacuum molded and made from ABS plastic for a great finished appearance.

Our products are made specifically to fit over an existing dash for your repair. There are other videos out there of folks that are replacing their dash with a brand new one - those might be helpful to you.

What do you do if you need to take it off, to change one of those climate door actuators, that are always going out.

The dash cover can be removed by warming the cover with a heat gun or blow dryer. This allows the silicone to release. If the cover is damaged and cannot be reinstalled, contact us and we will ship a new one out under warranty.

The top dash panel isn't removable on this body style. You're thinking of the GMT800. This is a GMT400.

So if you mean that some of the silicone adhesive got on your dash or dash cover during install, you can wipe up access with a rag and an ammonia based cleaner such as Windex. If you missed some, you can always peel it off after it dries and clean the residue with the cleaner.

Would you recommend this product for a severely damaged and cracked dashboard? No major missing chucks. it's just cracked at what seems to be all mounting points. My dash is sadly moving around alot and not in the market to buy a whole new dash. Thanks! It's for a 99 Tahoe.

Many use this cover for just this reason. It might be helpful if you contact our live Customer Service Team to discuss with them your particular install: 800-633-7090 or via email at customerservice@coverlaymfg.com also many folks will sometimes tape problem areas with a really good tape to help secure the original before our dash cover is installed.

@@coverlaymfg I am going to buy your cover to put over my dash because it is cracked pretty badly at this point. Do you think it would be best to glue the pieces I have back together instead of taping them or both before i install your coverlay? If so what glue do you think would do the job best. I know you don’t sell any glue but I figured your company sells these covers so might have heard stories of what products work best to put together the old dash before installing the coverlay cover. I can see from our fitment chart they must be different because the 2002 is offered but not the 2003.

I'm sorry I wouldn't know, but we do have a dash cover for that model that will be similar to the OEM look once installed since it is ABS hard plastic and not fabric. Yes that is how dash covers are installed😊This is not a fabric/carpet type cover, our solution is made to look like your original once its installed. For vehicles that already have a cracked and damaged dash.

Thanks for your comment. Many of our customers appreciate the huge cost savings they see over replacing the entire OEM dash, and once the ABS plastic dash cover is installed, it has that OEM look to it versus a carpet or fabric dash cover.

W/ proper installation does the dash fit well enough to be an unnoticeable addition? (BTW, I need this replacement for a work truck not for show truck or a date night.) Thanks.

@@rocksimpson4800 Our product has excellent longevity and is backed by a lifetime warranty. With the texture and fit, it is very hard to tell that it's a cover and not the original dash. Our website has some before and after photos and if you send an email for the particular dash cover you want, I'll try and pull some photos and send to you that are specific to your vehicle.
