Holy crap 2:15 usually when you say they felt instant relief I try to look for a sign from the cow that they felt it, and with this girl I didnt even need to she shook in relief instantly. Thank you for caring so much!
Poor girl must’ve been suffering with all that pressure. She looks so relieved at the end when she was able to finally walk properly with that foot. Thank you so much for being a great caretaker for these cows and a great educator for all of us too.
I didn't see her put that claw down at all. She was still walking like she was still in pain which I bet she still is. He fixed her but it's going to take a bit of time to heal fully.
@@getin3949 Some cows seem need take a few more steps before they realize that the hoof isn't as sore as it used to be. In this video he's only shown her first few steps. Plus that one was really badly infected,

Yeesh! This one looked brutal. Something I appreciate with Nate's work has always been how good he is about avoiding unnecessary bleeding. So you can really tell just how deep & nasty this infection was from all that blood & coagulation. You take great care of these cows Nate & I'm sure they thank you for it :)
Absolutely agree. Most new viewers are going to think that he cut her foot when the blood was first noticable, not realizing he still wasn't even close to living tissue.

I think it's amazing how people still don't get that the hoof is like the the bark of a tree. The outer layers are what happened many many layers ago and the actual trauma is much further that expected. I don't like the sight of blood but the investigative process, the artistic way of excising the material, and the remidiation after always gives me the formulae I expect from a good TV show. Thanks so much for both educating, entertaining, and healing in one go.
Amazing job! I really appreciate the use of the sharpie. That poor girl was still wanting to walk on the tips of her hooves, so I know you helped alleviate a TON of pressure and pain she was experiencing. Can't wait for a follow-up video!

I have a sinus infection and I'm staying home this week and I have watched the last two years of your videos, and I just want to say that it's amazing to see the polish that you have put on your videos in that time. You've really found your natural voice, which has an amazing sound quality, something like Marty Stouffer meets Steve Hartman. The kind and gentle nature with how you treat not only your cows but your viewers and commenters, even when sometimes they might not live up to your standard, is truly admirable and inspiring. Oh yeah I felt that relief. I just had an abscess on my side open up after a few weeks of having it. All that pressure lifted. Love to watch you work! ❤

Your knowledge on the different types of injuries and defections a cow's foot can acquire purely shows how much you love your black and white beauties. I always find your videos so nurturing and heart warming because just of how much love and affection you present when you are repairing and mending any injury you may find and I am sure all your cows love you just as much as you love them. Nate, I have to say, I really enjoy your videos. I love that you are helping an animal at the core of your channel while also supporting valuable sectors of the economy. I enjoy learning about this process very much and although I have seen other channels which do the same work, I am sure with concern for the animals well being in their hearts as well, I thoroughly enjoy and appreciate your no nonsense gimmick free format and practices.

These videos are so satisfying to watch, seeing all that nasty pressure releasing, spraying off all the filth, cutting away all the garbage and leaving the hooves nice and clean, packed with healing substances.
It's funny to me how your explanations help me understand so much more about what you're doing while simultaneously demonstrating the incredible skill and expertise that I would need years and years to attain. I never thought I'd be so interested in hoof trimming/care, but here I am.
I worked as a ranch hand for two years as a teenager. I never knew bovine hooves were basically giant toenails. Granted, my job was mostly involved brushing and shoveling, you know.
As someone who has had a bad ingrown toenail resulting in an infection, I understand the pain this heifer was in and the relief you provided. I deal with hoof problems often with ewes and rams, I sometimes give a shot of LA-200 after dealing with a bad infection if it caused fever level temperatures in an animal, hoof rot seems to do best with a trim and a footbath in zinc sulfate.
Thank you for helping to keep these cows comfortable and healthy! I wish all dairy farmers provided this care for their cows. Also, fresh, clean dry hay keeps their stalls drier, keeping the hoofs drier and healthier. I’m intrigued with your work and love of helping cows have pain free hooves.

But content creator will say that it’s not feeling any pain rather enjoying the relief...... Where it’s not.... (Content creator saying such things so that the general viewer don't get disturbed) Think about us when we get treated while we get some skin infections...... It definitely felt pain, but pain here is not harming the cow rather the treatment saving the cow from long turn illness.

I know vary little about cows but your vids are always so informative! I love how they aren't as loud as some others that do similar line of work. Vary relaxing to watch and see the cows walk out better then when they had gone in for a trim.
That poor baby didn't realize she can walk on that foot now. I'm surprised there wasn't full sole separation. They rarely ever bleed for you and I appreciate you instantly washing away the blood instead of letting it gush out. Man, that blood clot was huge! Poor girl. 😭💔
Saw that swollen part as the leg was lifted, but was not expecting that release! As soon as the grinder touched it, boom. That had to be uncomfortable for her, great job cleaning it up and can't wait to see progress videos!
You're quickly becoming my favorite hoof guy. I like the down to business commentary. No fluffy music, no constant talking, only enough to explain what's happening and what you're doing.
After discovering these videos I feel like I missed my calling in life. This job seems to have all of the best stuff; animals, getting out pus and goo and carving. Nate must go home every day with the biggest smile on his face.
I always appreciate how you educate your viewers. I have a background in veterinary medicine, was a registered technician until I left the field for library work in February this year, and I love learning new things about large animals, especially since I exclusively worked with small animals. I can tell you put a lot of care and compassion into your work, both with animals and with your channel here.
Without these guys I don’t know how many of the cows suffer and die of infections. Thank you for making the life easier, I know it sucks being a cow but at least they have this people who takes care of their well being.

When I see this , I constantly thinking; “ is it painful for the cow “ I know an infection hurts awful . But the treatment ? Is it locally painless with painkilling injections ? Its a beautiful job , helping infected and wounded animals . So they can walk again , and heal.
