Exactly, most people probably have no clue about this stuff..and here I am at 2am eating Cheetos watching my 12th video about a guy with a relaxing voice explain hoof trimming to me 🤣
I love the beginning where the cows are chillin with their personal cow wash brush lol. Also, cows spend most of their time standing up, I don't blame her for taking a break while she gets her sore foot taken care of. 💖💖💖
@@piotrkosakowski7071 you could be right, I've never had cows. My opinion was formed by what I have seen. When I see a herd of cows a few will be laying down but the majority of the herd is usually standing.
@@ggp-ok2eo it definitely looks like they're enjoying themselves though doesn't it? I love to see farm animals that are living a truly comfortable life. There are far too many companies that abuse and neglect their livestock in the name of making a buck. It hurts my heart to think of it. Seeing cows like these that are able to relax and not have to lay in filth is truly enjoyable.
For some reason when you were talking about her being lazy and resting, I started hearing an imaginary conversation between the cows... "yeah, Nate's coming today and I'm going to have a mani-pedi. The baby is on calf starter, so I'm just going to have a glass of wine and a nice, quiet spa day. You know how easy it is to just sit back and relax to the point where you don't want to even stand up on your own!"
When you were giving her ear scratches after I could see in her eyes she was saying thank you 🥰 you are a legend Nate helping all these beautiful cows feel better!
Nate, it gives me great relief every time you do the spraying and I see all those dirt/debris falling away. Thank you for sharing and taking care of the cows.
I have no idea why RU-vid started suggesting these videos but I'm hooked 😂 pretty cool how you can make the cattle that much more comfortable. I had no idea cattle needed this done 🤔🙂
I’m so happy to find out there’s a hammock type harness lifting the main weight and body of the cow up during this process. I was just thinking they had to just either endure it or you gave them breaks during this but that they had to bear the weight to the other hoofs. I’m glad they can rest while “getting their nails done” :)
@@Guciom nope, you are just over exaggerating . Senseless people only would think like you wrote...not "every" Hindus would...ecspecially Hindus in South india are really educated about these stuffs.
This is so sweet. The little ear scritches at the end. These ladies deserve to rest during their pedicure! Nothing lazy about it. Thanks for taking such good care of these gentle creatures
Me: "I'm a true crime and nail art junkie." RU-vid: " Wanna see cows get pedicures and foot treatments?" So here I am, binge watching Nate's cows for a week already. Notifications ON. In between true crime and nail art. 😆
I'm also a True Crime and Cow Nail Art Junkie. LOL subscribed and notifications on. It's been about a month now and I still find it fascinating to see Nate explain a craft that is so intricate, at which he is the master of. It's sort of the same reason I find those old videos by the BBC showing masters of their craft making everything from fine porcelain to decorating a cake for the queen.
I watch these videos cuz they make me feel better less depressed as I watch each cow get & feel better. I stumbled upon these videos the time when I was really depressed. So thank you so much for making me feel better.
I think that the reason this is so fascinating is that it represents ancient human knowledge. We've been caring for herd animals' hooves for almost twelve thousand years. It's like watching a man chop down a tree with just an axe; a job universal to mankind across the globe and throughout history.
Actually, I think this is a modern problem due to keeping animals on concrete... Not something that happens remotely as often out on pasture. Most beef cattle, who live most their lives outside, never need hoof trimming at all.
@@TheFarmerdavid Literally incorrect. Soft ground causes hoof-rot and deterioration faster than anything else because it retains moisture and there's nothing to file it down. I keep livestock in two different locations. I never have to trim the feet of my animals that live on a mix of concrete and soft ground. The ones in the pasture get checked every few weeks, they usually need extensive trimming and care if I so much as miss even one mistake.
@@TheFarmerdavid the cows showed here live on pasture though. You see a lot have tiny rocks lodge in their hoof, sometimes lesions caused by nails left on the land.
I love seeing them dangling their other foot like that - who wouldn't want to take the weight off and rest a spell, given the chance? I find the cow's innate ability to try to heal itself absolutely astonishing. Having said that, it's just as well that you're there to give them a much-needed helping hand though. What a transformation today! Lovely cow, now also a happy one :)
Poor girl. I hope she gets better. But also I have to agree with everyone on how great your videos are in terms of explanation and direct content. I really wish you had a patreon or someway I could support you further for all this knowledge
I'm convinced Cows are Angels.I just love how kind and knowledgeable you present what's going on.It really makes people understand that cows are special and sometimes need our help.Beautiful job.
I love this farm. The cows and their surroundings are so much cleaner than some others I have seen on RU-vid. I also love the rotating scruff for the cows to scratch an itch..
As a kiwi, seeing these cows live like this, makes me realize how much better our pasture farming is, you see very few bad hooves.but I guess if you don't have the land you don't have much choice but use feedlots.
@NatSoc Kaiser It's not the farmers they are after, but the poor need to be fed cheap food or they will rise up. And to get cheap food you need to cut corners. And to cut corners, they force the cost onto farmers, because heavens forbid they levy a 0,05% tax on a megacorp industry...
I don’t know why this channel was suggested to me but I’m on my 2nd video lol how the heck does the algorithm know I would enjoy watching COW HOOVES?! 🥴
he speaks in a calm, slow, even tone, explains everything well, and does something that's very satisfying to watch. power washing videos are great for the same reason
You changed my plans, lol. When I saw this in my feed I decided to stay up and watch it, LOL. I love how you constantly spray it with water or cleaner to get all the debris out and the infection as well. And I also like how you give us a really up close view of it. I was also wondering how they supported the excess weight, so thank you for answering that as well. You also have a soothing voice, LOL
Bless your explanations! Can’t tel you how many times I’ve been terrified at the state of a cows hoof, but then you’re right there telling me how the yellow bit is new horn, or it’s just a simple (sometimes bad) case of hoof separation or digital dermatitis and I can release the breath I didn’t know I was holding. 😭 Love your videos!!
I wonder if the cows see Nate coming and do a happy dance in their heads because it's time for their pedicure. Thanks for the videos, which I have no idea how I got into. Also I love the way you explain things, especially for us who had no idea that this was even a profession. All the best!
As you made that first cut and we saw the fluid burst out I let out a very audible “oh shit”- I can’t imagine how painful that must’ve been for that poor cow, good on you for helping them man!
As someone who dealt with some pretty bad ingrown toenails as a kid it's nice to see someone helping animals with a similar problem. I know what it's like to not be able to walk due to pain.
I'm so glad to see the animals you work with receiving such great care. I grew up on a dairy farm and my uncle spent the time and money necessary to take care of their hooves. I've seen some farmers, however, ignore some serious injuries until they were too far gone
I haven't been able to get rid of these videos for days .. it's so interesting. I never thought that there would be so many problems .. with the hooves .. Poor cows .. you are doing an important job there!
This has to be one of the best feeling jobs in the world. Watching them girls walk away without a limp and knowing you just saved them from pain they’ve been living with for who knows how long must be a great feeling. 👏🏼👏🏼
@Super Genius you try coming up with 1000s of unique names then lol, and try to organize them for treatments, vet care, herd rotation, fertility, etc… Numbers are simply more practical it’s not about attachment
So far you're the most gentle and caring person while doing your job. The couple of other videos i watched abt scraping off the hoof, the workers didn't seem to be that gentle as you are.💞
3:35 Lol i’d be lazy too-Imagine lugging around that much weight all the time. Any opportunity, any at all, I’d be sitting down or lounging about too. 😂😂 You rest your feet Lil Lady!
That poor momma. She had to be in pain. I hate to see when they have problems because you know they were suffering. You always fix them up good as new. It’s amazing to watch. ❤️
The moment I saw that initial hoof come off, my exclamation was loud enough that my wife and house mate came to find out. Now we are all watching your videos.
See this is why I watch Nate more than Hoof GP. No annoying intro or music throughout or 6 minutes of dialogue in the beginning. Nope, here’s the cow, here’s what’s wrong, let’s go to work.
I don’t know why y’all try to create a competition between two channels. I think both of them of do good work. If you don’t hoof gp’s content then don’t watch it. You don’t need to leave negative comments.
@@chloedelacroix2137 stop with this. it's stupid when people tell people stop comparing players in sports or RU-vidrs. Get over yourself and your sensitivity.
@@chloedelacroix2137 I don’t know how you got all that from what I said. Did I say Hoof GP wasn’t good? Did I say I wanted to start “competition.” No. I said why I watched one dude over the over guy more often; so get the fuck over yourself.
@@geezushasrisen calm down, no need to get triggered. You know what you were doing. The fact that you commented about Hoof Gp means you were comparing, and comparison leads to competition. You could have just appreciated this guy’s work and left it that. Anyway I don’t think this will get through your thick skull. Nothing much you can do about content hungry fools like you, sitting behind a screen and belittling someone’s hard work.
I had only ever heard "heffer" as an insult when I was a kid/teenager, never knew till now, that it's a cow (facepalm) Nate, keep up the amazing, kind work you do!!
A heifer is a female that hasn’t had offsprings yet and will be called a cow after she has her first baby. Calling someone a Hefner can be so satisfying! 😀
im very proud of this guy. He turned a job he enjoyed into a very profitable one ❤️ looking at you hitting 1M subscribers makes me so happy. I remember the first time I came across this channel you only had 10K ! Helping animals and owning a successful RU-vid channel in the same time?! Im so happy for u, u absolutely deserve it for your wonderful work
Never knew this would be something I'd watch so avidly! I love the close-ups and the detailed explanations you give. I had other channels like yours pop up for me but they just don't have the camera work or the calming, educational style you have! Thanks for giving me something new to learn and helping me relax!
i loves to watch you treating the bulls with so much care and detail. and when the wound gets clean and treated, though not my foot but i felt relieved🤣. thanks Nate!
she deserves a nice rest while her poorly foot is getting fixed! Hope she got loads of treats and head cuddles! Well done sweet girl and of course Nate! 😍😍
I love this, love to see the relief the cow gets! It’s satisfying watching the darlings foot get cleaned and all better! Almost like shucking oysters lol. Good man and can see how much love he puts into making sure she’s feeling better
I have to admit, I am both amazed and queasy at the same time. I have sooo many questions. For example, What happens to a cow if they are never treated? I had no idea this was a profession. I bet they are in an awful of pain. Dang. Whatever your fee is to do this work, it's not enough.
I imagine he gets paid $1-$5 per cow since most of what he does is just trimming maintenance. But im no expert so it could be $20 per cow for all i know.
I came for the ASMR of watching you cut and treat the hooves, but I stayed and subscribed because of the kindness you show these gentle creatures. Thank you!!
I don’t know why, but the cut starting at 1:06 is so satisfying. Just a perfect cut and you expose all that’s going on. Thank you for the great content!
I love all your videos and all your work and I especially love it when you give the cows (and other critters) pets now and then. Thank you for being so kind.
you are very soft to these cows, you take your time to be ver precise, to not damage, or make them suffer. You are very kind to these ladies and its great to watch, to know its a huge relief for them is very conforting, when you see how the humanity treat animals its very good to see someone working to make them feel good and healthy. So i would say a huge thank you, although i know it has nothing to do with us, and i dont pretend to talk for the cows dont worry, i'm not that pretentious (i hope...)
No more pain than I’m in from working every day. Only difference is they have a doctor that comes out to treat them, scratch their head and send them on their merry way. 🤷♂️
@@antoniogreen5044 tbh there very good at dealing with pain in there hoofs there is some pain of course but they at least get sorted and in some cases faster than we get to see the doctor so dont worry too much :)
I love these videos. Fascinating. And glad there is no music, just explanations and descriptions. This time I particularly thank you for showing the strap under her body that she can relax in while you're working. They do seem relaxed but I wondered how they could stand on that one leg in front or back for so long and still be relaxed. Now I know.
That cut at 1:15 was extremely satisfying. Great video as always, Nate! I remember saying you were almost at 200k subs, and now you're rapidly ascending to 300k!
I have no knowledge of cows and their hooves, but I love watching these videos. Is fascinating and satisfying. Glad these cows are getting looked after so well. Thanks Nate!
You are that cows best friend....your a blessing to all the cows ...after seeing that hoof ...it looked so very bad and it looked like it probably smelled pretty bad too.....there is a special place in heaven for those who care for animals....thanks for all that you do for them ....
