Had no idea anyone would even try coys (that’s what we call them). Hubby grew up eating anything they could kill, like fox, turtles, skunk, beaver, fishers, coon, groundhog, etc. There were 14 kids, so those boys hunted daily. Hubs fave was skunk and groundhog. That was generally their holiday meal, and was a treat for them. He said after trying fox, there just was no way he’d eat anything that resembled a dog, again. They did get a mountain lion once. Said it was tasty…lol.

That would be a delicacy in the Philippines. Co-workers from the Philippines say they eat dogs all the time..I don't know about that. If SHTF and grocery store shelves are empty and most animals are gone,it would be my last resort. Young fella seem to like it tho🤪 Thanks for the share 👊 💥

As bad as they smell... Skull doesn't bother me but the smell of yotes lingers in my nose long after I have disposed of them... people think skunks stink. I think yotes are worst. No way would I eat one. Think of all the rotten things it has eaten.

Gillette, AR has a coon supper every year that all the politicians attend. I never got to go. Have cooked a couple of coons myself, and they turned out real good. I had heard good things about groundhog, but the one I tried was terrible. Maybe if it was cooked different. Or maybe some glands removed? It was a big male. Coyote never sounded too appetizing, but I would give it a try.
