Thank you for showing this video i have a Tear in my leather see that's been scratching at my leg for weeks and not to be judgy but some single working parents making their checks stretch from paycheck to paycheck can't afford and don't have $600 sitting in their bank account to replace or fix a seat in their car. I appreciate your patch idea. Thank you.

I use vinyl repair adhesive and vinyl fabric. precut the fabric to fit the area. Clean the area with alcohol. Apply the adhesive over the cleaned area and around the edge of the fabric on the back side. place the fabric over the area with the adhesive and press it out smooth. apply masking tape around the edge and over the fabric or apply light weight to hold it down until it dries. Remove the weight and tape then go around the edge with the adhesive and let that dry. The adhesive will self level and give you a near perfect appearance to the repair. The repair is long lasting durable and near permanent. I have used this technic to repair my car seats, boat seats and furniture. My bass boat fishing seats have lasted so far over 10 years and still looks great no pealing or coming loose even around the edges of the repair. My car and furniture repairs aren't as old as my boat, but they also still look great. I use my boat every weekend year round.

The comments section is always gold and this did not disappoint. I wanna say for all those asking where to buy "the patch"... Y'all c'mon. Use your brains. Does everyone have to tell you exactly everything? There are just some things that we should be able to do ourselves, like figuring out where to get it from. There's probably so many different brands of patches out there and different places that carry them, this RU-vid channel shouldn't have to do that work for you. Google is your friend. Call your local detail shop or your dealership and ask them if you need to.

Showing how to put a sticker in the car is one thing. Endorsing it is another. Wonder how it holds up in the heat? Drop that in a working man's F-150 daily driver and check it at the end of the summer. That is the second half of the video everyone wants to see.

Yikes that looks terrible! Most leather seats zip off the frame and its easy enough to stitch those seams back together or use a patch on the back side so it doesn't look like a color duct tape fix.

As an upholster I threw up in my mouth when I watched this. Seriously think about it before you go this route. You will ruin the seat for a upholster with anything less than having it restitched if it is not too far gone. Then they can always replace panels if they actually are as good as they should be. Wowsers I can't believe they sponsored this.😭 Good luck people...

Couldn't disagree with you more. Just had my lower leather seat bottom driver side quoted at LeatherSmith for $750.00. The OEM replacement from the Dealer was $454.00, but is no longer available. There is no panel replacement, the LeatherSmith won't do it that way....small piddly jobs. It's the whole seat cover or not at all. You give poor advice that's not practical. I had tremendous gas after I read your response.

Hi just wondering if the patch remained in place? I have done a similar repair but after a while started to peel off. Not sure why but probably because seat do have direct contact with our body.. then perhaps because also of the extreme temperature when the car is outside parked. Can you suggest any other solution. The tear i have is near the left side of the driver’s seat.

Hmm might have been useful if you mentioned what you cleaned the leather with first - I am guessing something like isopropyl alcohol as I have cleaned and maintained the seats with a Maguires leather conditioner in the last and it seemed to be an oil or wax-based product. If it was wax-based then I am again guessing that I should use some sort of ammonia cleaning solution like cloudy ammonia.

Not hating on TRQ I really appreciate your videos you’ve helped me out more than once, but that patch looked terrible! I’m wondering however if you either sew it yourself or bring it to a local dry cleaning & alterations spot, see if they would sew it. Take the patch or if it would be sized better take 2 of those panels and either w/ a single one or the 2 patches and folding it in 1/2 sandwiching the patch face to face. At the bottom where the fold is make a straight or mimic the seam pattern of your car, essentially creating a false seam & stitch pattern then place that apex/seam centered in split and stick it down like you did in the video except now you have a visible seam. This would keep the original look, maintain visual uniformity w/ the passenger seat ad well ask masking that patch camouflaging your repair. I have no idea if this would work but would probably look better than not doing it.

You can have stuff like that just fixed at an auto fabric shop for pretty cheap especially on just seems they can just soe it and like that other spot they could just replace that section of the seat. 500 bucks max for that repair probably less. They dont have redo the whole seat and its a lie if a shop tells u they have to do the whole seat. Obviously if the whole seat is shot then yes the whole seat would need to be redone

Great for a piece of crap car. You could just get black duct tape too. I don't think it would last in Phoenix AZ. Also seat warmers may create some issues

Nope, I wouldn't have done it that way. That must have been for someone who didn't care how it looked. You want the tear to not even be noticeable, there's leather repair kits out there that do this.
