Great points. Often, we feel so alone in the World. Dialogue can show us that is not correct in addition to providing a path to healing, love, support and acceptance. Much love Salimah! Sat Nam.

I will often find things on here that I may not understand initially-but I finish the class. Years later I will realize why I opened that door and understand later to go through. Some videos make me physically so tired I can’t always maintain the expression physically. But that is the great thing about kundalini-you are working in all time continuum and you will know when its time to come back to the door visited-and finally walk through. I barely know another way to describe it.

Thank you for this video and congratulations on hitting 50K! 🎉 I sometimes feel odd or immature for questions I want to ask. It’s a thing I’m working on, and sometimes all I can get out is a thank you, because it feels like someone hears me but isn’t chastising me for not understanding life. I find it challenging to form community because after making mistakes in life, and also finally addressing where those choices came from, it’s like I’m balancing: - Not wanting to offend or hurt anyone else I care about - Protecting my own peace to mitigate any more breaking hearts or heartbreaks. How can I feel deserving or enough? All the elder women in my family have kept to themselves in life and it sometimes feels like I’m understanding why, from a perspective of being tired of the pains those bring as we continue to experience life, get older, idk. I also recognize my impatience and low tolerance. Does it mean I’m broken? Or am I just putting myself out there too much in desperation of finding that community? Practices that I’d like to ask for: - Resentment - Safely transmuting or dispersing extremely charged emotions, whether it be furious like or crying. - Anything that targets the ribs, upper back, scapula or any of those areas would be great. I feel so stiff in the thorax section of my spine that it’s actually driving me up a wall. - Pelvic/Hip imbalance/realignment practices possibly?

Would you believe we are not fully developed in our brains until age 26. This process of maturing and comprehending takes time and energy. And along the way it gets easier and then harder and so on. Thank you for the practice suggestions. Spinal flex seated, on hands and knees and standing are ways to get into that area. Also check out KY for the nervous system/spinal health

I have been using the pranayama you taught on the channel for self regulating emotions when I am at work. I am a caregiver and need to reset my consciousness when I spend long days with others. It has been very helpful. One question I have is that I am wondering it if has a formal Sanskrit name. It is a simple practice. Breathing in 4 counts, hold 4 counts, breathing out 4 counts , hold 4 counts and I think for 4 minutes? Thanks so so much for all you do. I have been following your teaching for about 2 years now and you helped me during some really hard times with your PTSD practice offerings. So much to celebrate! And to keep learning.

Hi Augie - thanks for connecting. Box breath is an amazing remedy for connecting to self and observing yourself. I do not know the Sanskrit name.

In the last weeks I've been thinking a lot about cultural appropriation - am I, as a white person, doing something wrong by practicing yoga (or more specifically by practicing the way I do). If I come across something in my practice that I don't feel benefits me, am I doing something wrong by excluding it from my practice? And is it important why? (For example not doing something because it causes my pain vs not doing something because I simply don't like it). Is it wrong if I say a mantra that I don't yet know 100% what it means? Or is it wrong if I want to understand what all mantras mean because I'm scared of saying something that I don't agree with? (Instead of wanting to understand for the sake of knowledge.) Yoga, specifically Kundalini, has brought joy back into my life, after years of dreading pretty much everything (especially movement) due to chronic pain. So I'm scared of hurting the practice in any way.

It’s great that you are considering all of these aspects of the practice. So your best to honour the traditions and ask questions. our personal preferences reflect our cultural norms and conditioning so it’s wise to question.

I am so grateful for these meditations! Dear Salimah, what does it mean when I get nauseous during a meditation? I felt it pretty strongly during this meditation. Thanks 🙏🏽

Do your best to let whatever comes up - out of your body. Nausea, itch, sneeze, tears something wants to be seen and released
