Hello Ma'am I am from India and I have learned so much from you that I can't thank you enough. I have a query about a stitch name. I have seen a stitch somewhere I don't know the name of that stitch. First they made even number of chains, then skip the 1st ch and so 1sc on all the chains till end. So they have odd number of stitches now. In the next row they are doing 1 slip st, 1 hdc, 1slip st, 1hdc,....like this till end. They are not skipping any st just 1hdc and 1slip st alternately. Is there any specific name for this stitch? Please help me out.
Thank you for the pattern - I can't wait to hook it properly. Im struggling with the slip stich rib. Does anyone know if it would make a big difference if I use double crochet in the back loops if i still hook to 18"?
You’re welcome 😊 The trick to working the slip stitch ribbing is to keep your slip stitches fairly loose, however you can work UK double crochet stitches instead if you prefer as long as you work it to the same size, and make sure you have 70 stitches when you work across the brim to begin the main part of the hat.
Hello, hope all is well. Question, does the needle affects the wide of the beannie? I have a 5.5 mm but so far mine is looking different 😲😅 . Im a new subscriber as well, and been practicing, but I later on found out, about matching the yarn w the needle or hook, haha 😅.
I just followed along and made my first beanie! I’ve learnt so many things from you, you are the best tutor! Thank you so much ❤ Do you have to add a pom pom or can you just tightly sew the top of the hat?
Beautiful hat! I made the wrist warmers not so long ago and now giving this a go. I messaged you in Instagram but I'm not sure if you have seen it! I'm a little stuck after row 4. I completed 71 stitches but the pattern repeat has 3 stitches and 71 isn't divisible by 3... I have ended up with two DC at the end without an extra stitch for the FPDC. Have I gone wrong somewhere? Please can you (or someone here) help me? Thanks!
I made it, but think I fudged a few stitches to make it work, I’m now trying again to make another correctly, but still get to 72 stitches, and can’t work out where I made the extra 1. The last FPDC makes the slip stitch to the first stitch, so do you slip stitch over it on the next row?
@@janegilbert7846 I think it should be 72 stitches as you DC into the first two stitches and then FPTC in the next all the way around which would Total 72 stitches (divisible by 3) so I think I'm going to frog back to make 72 stitches so it will work!
Thank you 😊 If you pop over to my blog here: blog.bellacococrochet.com/crochet-beanie-free-pattern/ you'll find the gauge requirements for the hat. As long as you can meet gauge then you can use DK yarn.
Hello! In each “valley” I did one double crochet and came out with 39 stitches and the end of the round. I do not see how it’s possible I could’ve ended with 71 stitches as I only have 39 valley’s. Help please? 😅
The size is for an adult small and these measure Height 23cm (9 inches) Circumference 45.5cm (18 inches) Approx Gauge 14 sts x 18 rows over 10cm x 10cm (4inch x 4inch) measured over bar stitch unstreached and I did 34 rounds, the size may change depending on the type of yarn you are using, your hook size and your personal tension :)
All of the yarn details are in the description box underneath the video 😊 I've used Truly Yarn Superwash Merino in Aran Weight, approximately 40g of the main colour and 26g of the contrast colour.
If you find you don't have enough stitches after round one I would suggest going back and using stitch markers to help you evenly space your stitches around the brim 😊 You should have 72 stitches in total (please note there is an error in the pattern, so it's not 71 as stated), so for example you can use markers at halfway points around the brim so you know you have to work 36 stitches along each half. You can further half this with markers so you know you have to fit in 18 stitches in each quarter, and so on. Hope this helps 😊
