It felt strange to hear that call. I normally don’t have much interest in watching debates because it just devolves into everyone shouting at/over each other and making personal attacks. It was nice to see things stay calm and respectful, pausing and giving each other time to speak.

Don't just listen to them, do that research with all the possible neutrality in mind. Because actually listenig to doctors and experts, reading the mechanics of things talked about from the scientific perspective or reading psychological/sociological studies can only lead you to realise that those pundits are full of shit. The argument isn't too far off honestly. It's normal in the youtube world to interact with people who have a similar subscriber count as you. The person with the least subscribers benefits more than the person with the most subscribers. Sound logic to me. HOWEVER, Crowder regularly talks to nobodies so that means nothing other than being petty that seder has enough of a following that something could happen disproportionately. ALSO, Crowder talks vehemently about how he doesn't know who seder is but in that stream he admitted to following his schedule to debate Ethan when he assumed seder would be occupied AND he talked about seder being a stand up comedian which seder hasn't dabbled in at best over 15 years. He's telling on himself so badly it hurts to watch.

There is something interesting about your average dude with political opinions that align heavily with their surroundings, and them also being open to dialogue. That would actually be fun to properly explore in a friendly curious manner, as opposed to Crowder who yea, doesn't care about anything he portrays to believe in. There's a good method for getting to the bottom of things (Socratic street epistemology). You ask like "okay lets say all children are blind to the existence of gay people, would you still have a problem with gay people?". They would probably say yes, and so now you can skip over that whole rabbit hole, and ask them why, and then do the same thing. Just dig to the foundation. It's generally like "they're just icky" or some shit. Don't waste your time on rabbit holes where even if you demolish them, it doesn't matter, because there's still deeper reasons you need to dig to. I just felt like typing that out for some reason.

I grew up in a liberal environment, but I am center leaning right. I can see the issues that both the right and left raise, but the solutions are key. Right now the left is moving too far to the left for me.

Crowder's "subscriber count" reason is utter BS - that is not the reason he wont debate Sam. If Crowder has 5 million subs and Sam 1 million subs, sure Sam gets possible exposure to 5 million people who potentially dont know who he is but the other way is true too: Crowder will get potential access to Sam's base and can snipe of his million subscriber count too.. I didn't know who this pussified Clam Chowder guy was up until he got teased for being a right winger weakling by Sam, Kyle Kulinski and others. Funny as it was, he came into Crowder's house uninvited, and a public apology to Crowder and his audience (who likely also consider it their house) could help the conversation happen. @@Garebare1 I could be wrong, but I don't think they've had a "proper" debate. Sam has done some segments on things that Shapiro has said/claimed though, which might interest you. I also wouldn't say them not debating as of now is because Sam doesn't want to - I'm pretty sure that he'd love to do so. He has debated Jimmy Dore though. Sam has responded to quite a few calls/debates from libertarians of all types though, to the point where there's a playlist with 160+ videos in it. There's the "Sam VS Libertarians" playlist and also a playlist for a debate between Sam and Prof. Walter Block, an Austrian School economist. Oh, he has also debated Charlie Kirk. It should be on RU-vid. And I think he did something with Tim Pool as well.

@@Garebare1 from what I’ve seen in the comments (to be honest I didn’t know much of either Sam or crowder before this) Ben Shapiro, Joe Rogan, and other conservative pundits won’t debate Sam because they consider him a grifter - but from the flip side Sam’s side will say it’s because they’re all afraid bc he’s actually knowledgeable (since most of them don’t have actual experts and tend to have just more sheep as guests to perpetuate their conspiracies). I don’t know enough about any of them, so I can’t say whether that’s true, that’s the general consensus I’ve gathered from other comments who followed longer than I have.

How about Klein's bought-and-paid-for position about sparing government mandate all forms of critical analysis because "they just tell you what to do, you don't even have to think about it dud" which he was then too stupid or too chickensh*t too defend, that seem like a good place to start?

another commenter pointed this out but I think its much easier to engage respectfully and honestly when you actually hear someone's voice rather than just a comment on a screen. Not to get super deep but I feel like we often forget that everyone we argue with online is also a whole person, with their own life story and goals. And yes, more people from all ends should be more like Brandon, willing to at the very least engage with other ideas, instead of just sticking your fingers in your ears and refusing to listen. I'm a fan of Crowder myself but his performance was pathetic. Again like Brandon, more people should also be more willing to criticize creators and pundits they like rather than defend their every move just because they're a fan

The stunt pulled off something so much bigger than just getting him back. It revealed that he actually lives in fear of Sam Seder.
