Crypto Mains Deserve Better (Apex legends) 

As a Crypto main, I think he's not a legend for everyone, he's for a specific type of player, but if you do stick with him, he is one of the strongest in the game. I think what would help him out the most is an actual passive, something like being able to see the squads nearby counter without going into drone would be great. I also like the idea of marking the surviving members of a squad, if you kill their teammate. On paper, he should be overpowered, but he isn't, mostly because of the things that hinder him, like the drone jank, and, having to go 40 seconds being without having any abilities.

Best buff for Crypto: Unaffected by EMP. Makes the defensive EMP wayyy more viable, and you can be a lot more aggressive with it. I also think that the time it takes to jump in and out of drone needs to be halved at the very minimum. It takes too long, and in a movement heavy game, it’s just painful.

I've been maining crypto for a while now and he's not that bad. He's definitely made for a very special kind of playstyle, but he is really good. One change that could make him more versatile is the recharge rate when his drone is destroyed. Destroying is drone essentially makes him useless, which is why he has such a low pick rate compared to other characters like bloodhound which can keep scanning and not have to worry about a long recharge.

I feel like crypto is fine as he is. He’s simply not a character made for the main demographic of apex.but when played well,he can be a godsend.

I definitely think he needs a passive that doesn’t require his drone. His Ult is fine as it is in my opinion. I think the drone should stay as it is but, when you hold the tac button, maybe you could do the old animation and doesn’t go in a straight line so when you’re going AFK to scout for enemies, they don’t see where the drone’s coming from

(My thoughts and a few tips to play Crypto) I main Crypto and I think he's great. But I think what the game really needs is to give tutorials for how to play each legend. Crypto is not at all new-player-friendly. So a new player wouldn't know that the drone scans and emps in a 30m radius, that it can stick to walls, recover banners, or insta-respawn. Crypto's kit is very complex and not knowing how to use it gives of the impression of being "janky". Completely understandable though. Popular picks like Wraith, Octane and Bloodhound are far simpler and require less thought than Crypto. . . . So here are a few Crypto tips: 1) Don't treat the drone like a Bloodhound scan. Instead, think of it as a third eye, one that can be placed anywhere in space. The drone can be used to guard locations, scan through windows, provide live feedback during combat, guard while you res a teammate and way more. If you can figure out how to get the most use out of a third eye, you'll already be excelling at playing Crypto. 2) Don't spend too much time in the drone, and don't expect your teammates to watch your person. After his buff, this is not as much of a problem. But I still see new Cryptos doing this and I punish them for it. You should always be moving with your team and fighting alongside them. Try to pilot the drone for less than 5 seconds at a time. And only spend more time when absolutely necessary, like if you need to recover a banner or are searching for enemy locations. 3) Be mindful with where you place the drone, and recall it often. Since the drone is your third eye, not keeping track of it means that Crypto is partially blind. The drone should always be serving a purpose, so call it back if it isn't. Thanks for reading this! I've been maining Crypto since he was released and his drone rework was a great addition, his ultimate is amazing the way it is but the only thing he needs is a real passive. The drone is used so much, let Crypto do something that doesn't require it.

I've been maining Crypstoes for 2 years now honestly he's fine although I think maybe he should be able to change the speed of his drone and move whilst in drone mode or something along those lines just so that when you get to the max distance (200m) you can move the drone that extra bit further. People really shouldn't sleep on crusty toe he is a really good legend if you know how to use his abilities they all rely on the drone and if you can't use his drone then he's boring and bad. I just got his heirloom today which is my first heirloom because I lost all pack progress when I switched from console to pc unfortunately. In conclusion I would say Crypto needs some buffs but nothing too major.

A change I've wanted for Crypto since his introduction is to give his drone an idle animation when you're not using it. Just a simple little movement pattern that makes it just a little bit harder to hit. That way if an enemy decides to shoot your drone, they have to dedicate just that little bit more attention to it which may distract them from you or give you the jump on them.

I read someone’s comment a while back ago about crypto. It was to have his passive be something like off the grid where he has the ability to mask himself a bit from seers or blood hound. I think it would help balance the meta since it would counter act seers and more importantly blood hounds

Oh boy i have been waiting for this for a considerable amount of time. Theres a plethora of ways to make him very viable for soloqueue however this also affects how strong he is in team play Here's my list of buffs that he could get to make him more viable without overtuning him (I don't think he should receive all of these buffs, these are just the multiple options respawn can do to make him more viable) Major changes: - Make his drone indestructable though time limited, aka it will have a charge and will require a recharge after a certain period of time (so it can still be purchased as a tactical in arenas also), Will allow for a more passive playstyle and prevent him from losing his ultimate which is 3 minute cd btw - Make his drone pilotable by teammates if crypto is currently not using the drone , Will allow for his teammates to move the drone for him to scout or get a better position for emping enemies, this would be amazing if crypto is overextending or in a bad position > further on this if the drone was also pilotable by knocked teammates it would even further assist crypto in a one on one fight. - Similar to caustic , make his emp not affect teammates and/or himself, this will allow for a more aggressive playstyle rather than a passive one which will allow him to keepup with his team and get the most of the 150 damage (50 to each enemy) he causes in a fight, trust me the emp is rarely used to break down things like gibby dome or wattson fences. the damage and effect are what make it amazing for intiating a fight. - Make his drone able to see enemy loadouts , attachments , healthbars , armor bars , rank, how many teammates alive in that squad (to see if the enemy is a rat thats bluffing or not) etc, extra info for better decision making. this will make his passive playstyle better and help the team make more informed calls. Minor Changes: - Ultimate recharge faster, 180s-->120s - Drone sendout range 25m-->40-50m - Drone emp delay 3s-->1.5s - Drone emp radius control ; Less for aggressive emp playstyle More for passive - Drone pilot entry speed (non sendout) decreassed (time required to enter drone perspective) - Drone Health increase 50-->250 or Turn health into hits required similar to ramparts amped cover, - Add a 10 second cd hitscan projectile such as a bolt or dart on the drone that when hit by a legend will scan and slow them continuously or periodically until said legend removes the tracker in a 2-3 second animation - Drone can pickup an item (this is amazing for the passive playstyle as a crypto can go to a deathbox to grab a purple/red evo or supply drop weapon for his respawned teammate or himself if he is ratting and has no equipment, this also allows crypto to carry an additional item on his drone, the item can be dropped upon drone death similar to a cargo bot on worlds edge, if the major buff i listed above of which the drone becomes indestructible then make it require a certain amount of bullets to hit it for the item it is currently holding to drop, - Drone can be aimed at a enemy or teammate and can follow them (using ai of spiders and prowlers) , crypto can use his emp more tactically this way this would also be more powerful if crypto's drone was indestructable or if cryptos emp did not affect teammates and/or himself. to set a drone on a enemy/teammate crypto can double tap his tactical button rather than single tap or hold as he does now. (single tap for send off or entry of drone when already deployed and hold for sendoff with instant entry of drone) this way it wouldn't require an additional tactical button - Give cryptos emp a silence of 1s (like seer) to interupt healing during or right after the emp, most fucking annoying thing an enemy can do , its like your ult doesn't exist. - Make drone able to scan through smoke - Make drone quieter - Make drone not alert enemies they are being scanned until a certain time frame passes, this would prevent enemies from A. knowing the team has a crypto which defeats his passive and stealthy covert purpose and B. know that their position has been exposed which would make them more careful and less likely to overextend. its like you cant capitalize on a enemy teams awareness fuckup because your drone is a massive ass fucking alarm the moment they get scanned by it Obviously if crypto received all these buffs he would be the most overtuned legend however i believe 2-3 of these major buffs should be implemented and 4-5 of the minor ones should be implemented at least. my buffs are more focused on passive playstyle as well as setup as thats what cryptos theme is. the contrary being aggressive playstyle and initiation which is more meta, Crypto lacks a lot in both fields so i believe the buffs he should receive should be heavily focused on one of the playstyles rather than a mixture of both ( to prevent him from being overtuned and too versatile) but then he will either be fully meta or off meta , regardless he'd be greater specialised in one of these fields which overall makes him better. These suggestions aren't simply "i think he should get this" this is what i believe is crucial for crypto after playing him countless amount of times and reaching master using him 3 times. I'm not saying my opinions are facts in reality they are highly subjective and some are biased but just saying, i got a little more experience than the average plat 4 hardstuck controller player that doesn't even play crypto :) Thank you for reading.

imagine if apex did something where you could combine ultimate abilities of certain legends, so mirage and crypto together make duplicate drones so you get bamboozled by the drones

I think a good buff for crypto would be to allow his drone to slightly cloak itself when it’s sentry mode

The best buff he needs is one respawn already did for him on his stories of the outlands. He literally just threw his emp as a grenade he should be able to throw his emp or be able to mark the map and have the drone auto emp when it gets to it's destination

maybe a buff to how fast he enters his drone, because right now you have the physical animation and then the hacking loading screen. I think he would be less campy / slow if that was faster.

I recently found you after watching your video about Longbow Magic. I LOVE your positive vibes. As for Crypto, his drone is clunky. It's better than it was though. In a game all about movement, Crypto, Rampart, Wattson, and Caustic lack mobility with abilities. However Crypto only seems to be alone in that his ability literally takes him out of the battle. I would much rather his drone work like a UAV but the ultimate lets you throw it out to disrupt shields. Maybe his ultimate could prevent you from using shield for a few a few seconds like Seer's interrupt stop healing. In fact if you made the ult interrupt healing I think it would be pretty powerful. I LOVE the character but his kit sucks IMO. Although on Control is way awesome to be Rating Leader but sitting back and just tagging the entire enemy team and getting like 3 kills and 30 assist.

I feel that you should be able to hold the button to move it without breaking the flow of combat and double tap to fully immerse into drone mode. Being able to make micro adjustments on the fly base on what you see or don't see.

I picked him up a few weeks ago. Never thought I would like him but I do. He takes a lot of extra work to use his abilities to their full potential. Sometimes I don't feel like dealing with it.

Crypto has quickly been becoming one of my favorite legends in ranked. He's a very niche character, but if you know how to use him, his drone is nuts. From recovering, respawning, getting intel, disrupting gameplay, to having a constant scan. I feel like he does need a passive like "Off the Grid" where no legend can detect him while moving his current passive into his drone, where it should be obvious. By adding that, Crypto would be vital.

The cracking of multiple shields multiple times was hilarious

I ghink a good buff is being able to send the drone somewhere via pinging, that way u dont need to pilot it all the time you can send it off to a certain area and go into later to gather intel or maybe even being able to reposition the drone mid fight without piloting it

I forget if you had this idea or if it was someone else, but having the drone hover near you sorta like eyes behind your back would definitely help crypto alot. This could be his true passive(while putting his current passive just as part of his drone). Additionally, maybe making it so there is no load time going into and coming out of his drone would help.

I have 5 heirlooms and this one is honestly one of my favorites. When I got this heirloom, it made me try out crypto and I really love him. I think I’m going to start to main him

Crypto's main feature is he can see how many squads are nearby by looking at the banner in drone view, to let our team knows whether we are safe or we are in danger but the main downside is you need to be in drone view, it would be nice if Crypto can have a little GUI on the bottom left corner to see how many squads are nearby without getting into the drone view. and also, crypto can use the beacon remotely, the strongest scout IMO. grabbing teammates' banners and respawning them only using the drone is a huge plus too.

They could change his Q so that tapping it sends the drone to where ever the cursor is with a larger radius around the player.

Every legend is great in their own way but some that could use a bit of a boost are lifeline(drone shield with hp), Bangalore(some sort of way to make the smokes not see through by a lot of legends),crypto, seer, and mirage.

I believe that crypto's stationary gameplay in Apex is very restrictive, especially when you are in fast paced gun fights. I feel like a nice little change would be to implement the use of crypto's wingsuit (hands in pockets). Now I know off the dome this sounds really dumb. I just feel like having an ability that would allow crypto to move with his team quicker is needed. This passive would simply work based on height and distance. Whenever crypto jumps off a specific height, the player can hold down the jump button to glide instead of just a normal jump. The idea here is speed, so it would be faster the further you go. There would also be a specific height cap so players couldn't just glide across the map from wherever they were standing. The flying animation is already in the game as well.

Drone needs a Follow Me ult. On a Gibby cool down. If Seer and Blood have Wallhacks that can be directed so can Crypto.

I feel like crypto needs some utility outside of his drone maybe through a new, reworked passive or something like that. It doesn’t have to be huge, but something that allows him to be useful for his team and himself outside of his drone.

the new drone season 12 buff is fun to play with I send the drone into buildings or around corners and people shoot out the drone bc they think im controlling it to my swinging the corner with them unprepared

I just got a 2k game with crypto again. The trick is to not stay in the drone and use it only when it’s needed. Use his tactical like a bloodhound scan + mirage decoy, if you’re within the scan range toss out the drone it distracts teams and gets a scan off. When I use the ultimate I put the drone either on the ground next to the building or 90 degrees in the sky. When retrieving banners in the drone, go nice and high when people can’t see the drone, and hover straight above it then drop down to get the banner 🙂 he’s not that bad just outclassed.

I mained crypto for a while, and even have a 20 bomb and a 4k on him. I honestly believed he was really good before the buff and it only helped make him way stronger

honestly ive mained crypto for year or so now all he needs is for his drone to auto lock onto targets when you throw it out and scan them i think that will make it more smooth

As broken as it would be at first, I believe Crypto needs a secondary tactical that isn’t the drone, almost like a motion sensor // trip wire, or would be horribly ratty but I think makes sense for his character… The safer option I think, would be to let his drone follow him and be directly on top of him, giving him a scan every 20~30 seconds, this ability would be toggled just as you would a mirage clone, I don’t see it making him “OP” or replacing bloodhound but rather it would revive the character into someone that can sit back and gather intel or push up in a fight filled with smoke and plenty of chaos but yet still hold his own, it would make him a good fighter which would play into the solo aspect of being a crypto main

I partly main Crpyto on the side, I don't have as much knowledge on the character as others, but the way I see it. I feel like the drone should have two modes, one where it passively follows Crypto and the other mode being as it is regularly. I also feel like he should be able to use his ult when not having the drone out, it'd make things easier instead of feeling like you can't capitalize on your own EMP because your too far away when it goes off.

I think cryptos drone needs 1 inventory slot (aka can pick up one item and carry it around and drop it in front of you if you want or just hold onto something), needs to completely eradicate shields, or needs a faster ult charge. He also needs more health on drone, or a gibby shield if its standing still. Like basically a bubble shield around it that regenerates after when destroyed and protects the drone from damage whenever the drone is standing still. Either that or the drone needs to follow crypto around without needing to be moved but can still be manually moved.

Maybe by adding a toggle-able auto follow for his drone. The drone should move faster and be a bit smaller too. Or he could be able to use his drone while knocked or dead.

Crypto tip for those trying him for the first time or getting used to him. Throw your drone when you fight, BUT RECALL IT when you leave it’s sight or plan to leave it’s sight BEFORE you move. So if you’re chasing someone you beamed or railed then call the drone back so when they try to hide you’re ready to throw it again and can instantly find them. Use him like a security camera in close spaces, and if you play aggressive use him to find 3rd party fights by you. He’s a great legend and has the potential to be a monster. (Highest kills in a single match-game I’ve gotten as him so far is 13 kills doing a double havok load out.)

I've played crypot extremely on and off (mainly on) from season 10-11 and came back in 12 to try the buff out, and I stand by that the thing crypto needs is just to have his drone follow above him which has its weaknesses but has its up sizes and I feel as it would be exactly what he needs

Maybe like the mirage clones. They should make the drone mimic the movement of the character with a time limit possibly

I liked the look of crypto when I started so I unlocked him as my first non started legend. Now I main him and lifeline pretty much exclusively and let me tell you...it was hell learning to play him properly. But now I can't seem to play any other legend without getting myself in situations where I wish I was crypto. Biggest issues I have is that he essentially has no passive since his passive just makes the drone work (bit of a cop out on my opinion) and that the drone is so easy to kill and the recharge time when it does get popped. Without his drone he is a dead legend since all of his abilities require the drone. I originally thought it would be cool to have him be able to emp if the drone was dead and have it be centered on him just with smaller range and mark targets similar to a bloodhound scan. I also originally thought with his look he would have something special for energy weapons so if you gave him increased handling on energy based weapons or something like that as a passive that could be cool.

Seeing some good buffs proposed. When the drone is deployed and capable of seeing a banner, Crypto's view should be able to look at the banner and see if enemies are near without having to go into drone mode. I think the drone needs a smidge more speed and smidge more distance when thrown. This helps scouting further ahead but also in deploying his Ult and running In after it deploys (which is the biggest difficulty). If you don't buff this throw distance possibly allow for an EMP grenade toss like a Gibby Ult that can be destroyed before deploying much like a Seer Ult or drone currently. I got a feeling an EMP grenade may be coming in the future, either as a grenade or character Ult. (Or allow the EMP to destroy Wattson's Ult too). You can always nerf the radius of the EMP if too effective.

Literally all he needs is instant drone view. Like pressing your tactical will bring you immediately in the drone and vice versa. Give him a faster play style

What i would enjoy as a crypto main is being able to turn on that the drone faces the direction of your crosshair so you can change the direction the drone is facing without entering drone mode

As someone who wants to main crypto I would like to there be 2 buttons for his drone, one that throws it and one that directly gives you drone view. There are a lot of situations for me to just go directly into drone mode rather than just throwing it at first since I tend to play slow-paced. otherwise I already like his kit

I've mained Crypto for around 3 and a half days so far, he's been fun, 400 kills so far, a lot of ranked is where I had a lot of fun with him, I completely agree with you, in ranked he has more of a spot, in pubs, absolutely not, I've tried a lot in pubs and it's frustrating but I gotta try my best, I feel like playing Crypto allows me to focus more on mastering weapons and positioning rather than rely on these things but mainly on abilities as well, but yeah, he's been really fun, I've started mid season 8, got heirloom shards during start of season 10, wasted them on Wraith Kunai, wraith is fun but idk, I just started losing interest, wishing I saved them for the Crypto heirloom, or wish that I'd get more shards soon, highly unlikely but we pray for the best :D

Do you think it would too busted the just be able to use his ult without deploying his drone? Like you can use the EMP just from his back. Horizin and Caustic can both use their ults almost instantaneously. Either make the ult time longer to compensate or we make it lighter buff and make it so his EMP dosent hurt him or stun allies kinda like Caustics new gas

As someone who enjoys playing Crypto I'd love to see his drone go just a little bit further when he throws it, just enough so you're out of the EMP range. Another thing they could do is increase the amount of shield damage the ult does, it just doesn't seem like enough, or at the very least increase the duration of the stun. Bangalore's ult covers half the map and stuns for 30 seconds it feels like but crypto feels like 2 seconds max on the stun. It'd definitely help him out.

Tbh one thing I wish they sorta toned down was the cooldown for when his drone gets destroyed. It feels too much of a punishment having to wait 40 seconds seems too much when his whole kit revolves around his drone. They could also simply make his drone invincible while using EMP and keep the cooldown the same

I've been maining crypto for a good while now and I think he's fine as is. A cool suggestion my friend made for a buff idea would be changing his passive (which, let's be honest, is kinda pointless) to allow him not to be highlighted by enemy scans. Say, for example, he was scanned by a bloodhound, it would still say "scanned 3 enemies" at the top of your screen, but you would only see two of the squadmates through walls. I thought it was a pretty neat buff idea, although I don't know how well it'll turn out in terms of balancing.

I agree the drone just needs to more streamlined and it still feels clunky especially compared to Bloodhound's abilities. Love his heirloom though! I can't wait for Loba's next 🙃 I wonder if Ash's heirloom will also be a sword?

To preface, I love your gameplay and videos - I do think that Crypto is actually in a good place. I've been maining him since season 8, and while the learning curve is steep, I think it's steep in two specific places in his kit: drone placement, and EMP timing. I feel like I'm still figuring those things out. Whenever I watch streamers who barely touch Crypto play for a week or so to gather content, there's a consistent outcome - they somewhat flounder with the drone, spend most of their matches waiting for it to cooldown after being destroyed, throw EMP too late or too early, and then end up writing him off as "needs buff" or "boring to play". I'll admit, his playstyle is incredibly limiting - I almost never run him in pubs. Only in Ranked and Comp does he really shine. And then, only with a full pre-made squad who have good communication and are used to playing with a Crypto. But consider his kit on paper: 150 immediate damage to a team, constant beacon and surroundings information, ability to grab banners safely/remotely, respawn teammates instantly, AND the occasional wallhack? I think that's worth the learning curve and the price of being stationary for a few seconds every once in a while. All that being said, I would make two changes to his kit - I think the EMP should cancel shield healing, and a buff to the drone speed OR health (that nerf was completely unnecessary). MAYBE give him the ability to use the EMP on his back without Hack being deployed. Anyways, love your content Kandy!

i think it would be cool if you could set the drone to follow and when you want it you can send it in a direction like a mirage decoy and then when you want it you can open it like normal, this also fixes his EMP since now he can just use it because his drone is right behind him he can use it much faster

For me, as a crypto main the hardest thing to deal with is that every other character in the game has some kind of advantage against crypto I mean he has to be afk to use his drone and that alone is hard to learn (I mean the right timing for using it). Not many know how to use him correctly and the part is you need to actually get better at game sence, placements, now how to and when use the drone, learn to use nice the weapons and have movement as your pilar while playing with so for beginners is not friendly at all like blood or wraith might be

I think Crypto's passive should be something like he reveals the positions of enemies for a few seconds that he shield-cracked for a few seconds. That way, he can still provide useful information in the middle of a teamfight while not relying on his drone too much. It can also synergize with his ultimate if things go well.

When they first added the drone throw I could swear that I could set off the ult or call it back as soon as I threw it out. The last week or so I have to wait until it stops before ulting or recalling. I feel like it was shadow nerfed or I'm misremembering. I don't know why they shadow nerf a character whose entire kit can be nullified with 50dmg..

I had an idea for the character since the day he came out and still surprised nobody has thought of it, since his drone is an EMP basically and some people want a more offensive side of him, why not make it where he can throw his drone like an actual EMP grenade, not have to go on drone to use EMP effect, can just throw it like a regular tactical/lethal

pre-S12 crypto felt less clunky, that's how bad they did (and are continuing to do) crypto The S12 buff has no right to be called a buff either way though, they could've released the same stuff as a mid season silent patch and just called it QoL... I've been worried of it for a while but as a crypto enjoyer this whole update to him has fully convinced me that respawn does infact NOT playtest their game, how typical for an EA dev team...

Crypto's drone needs different modes like century , follow me and attack. So century would have the drone stay in a small area and be on the look out for enemies . The follow me is exactly what it sounds like where the drone would follow Crypto . Attack would have the drone attack the closest enemy team and use the emp alt .

I like the way crypto is, I have friends who play pathfinder, octane and faster paced legends and I’m able to keep up. Maining crypto for so long has taught me to keep up, play smart and learn how to get out of situations without movement abilities. I don’t want the devs to buff crypto because his pick rate is low so I can always play him, even with randoms if I have to. Its a very passive aggressive play style which is hard to learn. You also need to have decent general mechanics like aim, movement and game sense. After the buff I’ve noticed that in higher level play that it’s a suicide for the drone, it flys in a straight line and it’s easy to beam, it has come in clutch at times but it’s not crazy good. I do like the buff where the drone will turn around when hitting a wall, it works well when using it with the other buff but is only useful with the other buff as well. The circle in the middle like pathfinder is very nice when it comes to hip fire. The only buff I would give is faster animations, or a actually passive, I’m sure everyone has heard of “of the grid.” Maybe they can make the drone fly faster because everyone diamond and above can easily beam it, even when doing random drone movement. If they make crypto op with a insane buff then tons of people might play him, and then playing crypto will never be the same. If you read this all the way through then TY because I typed this on a phone and auto correct is so annoying.

I know one thing I would be able to utilize, if they added it, would be a remote movement ping system for the drone. Instead of needing to pilot every time, being able to quick release the drone, and Ping where you want the drone to connect to, in "autopilot".

One very small buff I think they should make him better is that if they made it to where when you throw your drone at banners it automatically scans. So when you're rotating you dont have to go into the drone and be behind by like 4 seconds

yes agree, crypto has needed a buff even after his last buff of auto drone. the area of scan was a big improvement but the ability to easily move it would make it more fluid and useful without having to go into his drown to move it. pinging it to a different wall or locale with the Q after it was out would make crypto finally an interesting character to use and competitive with bloodhounds wall hacks that are just the cream of the crop. I hear with the leaks that there is a hero that basically is an updated crypto and I would be very upset if they released a new character with all these updates that should just go to a re-work for crypto.

One thing that I think would make crypto better is like mirage while sending out the drone it should follow a linear path. It can be used to close the gap between fights without leaving your squad at a 2v3.

They should make it like when you’re inside of your drone and use your EMP that will stay the same but if you’re not inside your drone like if it’s put away or just sitting in the sky, you can use the EMP on crypto so wherever crypto is the EMP will just go around him in a circle like how it is with the drone and the EMP well not deal damage to him or to his teammates and it won’t stun him or his teammates but besides that the EMP will stay the same like breaking traps and all that stuff but something that I would add for the EMP is anyone who gets hit by it would get scanned for 10 or 5 seconds weather if its crypto who made the EMP or the drone but stuff that I would add to make the drone better is instead of the drone only seeing 30 meters it should see 75 meters and if the drone dies it shouldn’t take 40 seconds for it to come back instead It should be 20 seconds and there should be a self destruct for the drone, so if you’re flying it and you fly it into a team and they shoot it and it blows up like a frag grenade so they have to decide to leave it, or take as much damage as a frag grenade and right when it breaks it explodes and again 20 seconds to get it back

I think crypto needs faster emp and more damage with his emp. He also needs a passive that doesn’t rely on his drone. I think there is a lot of work to be done on him

Personally I’d like to see something along the lines of a speed buff on his drone, or maybe the throw distance to auto move maybe a bit larger I know it sounds strange but hear me out ^^ The range is ok all in all, but the speed whilst in the drone still feels slow. I’ve thought of a fun way to maybe play around with this, imagine if you could activate a mode that put it into like forward flight that went only the direction you looked? But this would thus need your ability to be a “camera” rather now a distraction. I’ve been playing since day one and I’ve always been fond of crypto, plenty of wins with him and honestly? (If anyone sees this, I’d love to see something like this done for Valkyrie too. She deserves more than a jet pack that goes up and down :b atleast a Titan dash or maybe forward flight at a faster speed, less speed upwards? Or even a much smaller fuel tank with a mid recharge and the ability to shoot faster after flying or even in the air)

Ive mained crypto for a little while. Im not super good but ive got 2,600 kills on him so I at least sorta know what im doing. You have to kinda think about wher wyour enemies are going to move and what gives you the best information. Crypto drone scans when you’re behind cover is really nice because you can already pre aim on your enemies guaranteeing hitting the first shot. But for me the real deal is the emp. You learn the radius of the blast you can just stand just outside it, giving your enemies no time to heal. Most people when they try him out they use the emp 40+ meters away which isnt going to do anything where they can just heal. Also with new drop throw being able to quickly throw the drone against the wall is huge since you dont have to waste any time going intondrone view and ect. Wouldnt mind another buff though

I think they need to increase the range of the drone deployment. So it could be played more to be an instant scan. Right now you can't even Deploy and EMP without walking a bit out of the range.

Someone probably already came up with this, but this is an idea for an upgraded crypto passive: what if he highlights targets near and around him while the drone isn't deployed? It keeps his vulnerability to being discovered while his drone is out, but he'd be able to provide information in close quarters fights without using his drone. This would give crypto players a bit more to think about if they wanted to value the shared vision around them or set up the drone somewhere else/use the EMP. Plus it would also make crypto a harder counter against caustic gas which is pretty appropriate

ive mained crypto since season 3. I can't see a way to make it for everyone besides a rework. New drone update was really good touch. I think if his emp would not slow him it could be a really good change to make him agressive and make his play style faster

Long time crypto, if you want to play fast paced only throw drone before you get shot at or when you’re sure your safe, other than that it’s drone positioning/creativity that matters. Besides that crypto is first and for most a bare bones character that requires you to be able to make smart decisions and have clean movement But he does need a buff

Crypto could perhaps set his drone so it moves a bit more but i like how he is i have to try this weekend he has a very high skillceiling

i wish u could activate the ult which your drone stored. like off your back and the emp would emanate off of you

First change I would make is take that drone timer away if I press rb it should be insta camera, next reducing the time on the ulti might be good? It's a really good push mechanic. Maybe it pings if you hit them even through walls without having to look at them, giving less risk to his drone.
